Its the "fast swimming" glitch. Since the beginning of Jak's 'swim' animation is faster and takes you a further distance than the other parts, you can swim faster by repeatedly tapping the analog stick in the direction you want to go. It takes a bit of practice, but is very useful.

It doesn't swim in glitch areas because the Lurker sharks only swim in particular areas and glitch areas sometimes let the shark escape.

theres an easier way to do that you jump on the piece of floating lost city elevator thing, then you jump on the little lost precursor city opening window(IT LOOKS LIKE AN EYE) then you jump to the second one the window farthest to the back of the entrance then jump as far as you can towards the see

I dunno what the vid is called, but instead of playing Sora, you play the world char. For instance:

Halloween Town = Play as Jack

Can even play as mickey on Radiant Garden.
