I don't drink alcohol or smoke etc. I just came back from Tierra Vida healing retreat in the area of Pucallpa, Peru. It was a 2 week healing retreat, we brewed our own ayahusca and worked with Shipibo Shamans. It was absolutely PRICELESS.
This medicine is not for the faint of heart but well worth the effort. Kicking your ego's ass can turn out to be fun for the inner warrior in you:) Taking drugs like alcohol etc. doesn't take guts, just requires some numbness. If you want to be AWAKE try this!

Drugs break down into ligands. Our brain receptors and the ligands have to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. The question is, why do we have receptors designed for these drugs? We can produce those ligands naturally through meditation.
If there is a source, then it emerges from within all living beings and can be experienced by each in unique ways that nurture each ... thus let none interject in that experience, let none lay claim to the experience of the other, to colonise it.

@TheAkariNozomi I think we are all, in some way, connected to God. Out individual experiences and interactions are some sort of filtering out of the same consciousness. I think God is the realm of un-manifested potential and infinite possibility and ultimately is an intelligence that can communicate to us collectively and individually through synchronicity and the sub-conscious. I believe were a finite or seemingly finite expression of God.
I wouldn't say that this is an "effect of hallucinations on the brain."
I'm majoring in psychology, and I can tell you for a fact that Shamanic experiences are not hallucinations. Being in an Astral state cannot be induced by hallucinogens. Chanting and breathing are some forms of stimulation that lull the left brain into a sense of control while it does not monitor the right brain. This occurs when we sleep as well, during REM (stage 5 of sleep). Brain activity is at its peak during this time.
And since when do Shamans use hallucinogen drugs like LSD? When a Shaman is on a spiritual journey, they receive very accurate info (about their lives, problems, etc.), but when you are high, you visually hallucinate (and-or receive auditory hallucinations). Psycheldellic drugs distort perception and evoke sensory images in the absence of sensory input - some can be opiates, which depress neural activity and block receptor sites for pain as endorphins.
I think that a lot of parapsychologists would disagree that Shamanic experiences, including OOBEs, as "hallucinations". There is way more to it, and we cannot explain everything about it. There are unlimited Realms out there that we have yet to explore.

@makedownrecords i am zeitgeist movement member and also participate in ayahuasca ceremonies when i can. ayahuasca has shown me that there is a god source of some kind and spirituality is important. it also resonates with certain values within the movement ie conectivity between all things in our world. ayahuasca helps me be in touch spiritually without needing to follow any particular religious beliefs other than my own from personal experience.

@shamkuzi i am absolutely with you there. Environmental changes can activate or deactivate DNA. I've seen how they induced a magnetic field to fishspawn and that made the fish grow as they where like 300 years ago. Therefore it is very important what you put in your body because it will cause changes in time. I would go by the rule: "put only things in your body that are supposed to be there" ! Think about nutrition and how important it is to eat the right things ;D

As to drug abuse. How come Ayahuasca is used to help people get rid of addiction to substances. And the way it works it does not replace one substance to another.

I don't drink alcohol or smoke etc. I just came back from Tierra Vida healing retreat in the area of Pucallpa, Peru. It was a 2 week healing retreat, we brewed our own ayahusca and worked with Shipibo Shamans. It was absolutely PRICELESS.
This medicine is not for the faint of heart but well worth the effort. Kicking your ego's ass can turn out to be fun for the inner warrior in you:) Taking drugs like alcohol etc. doesn't take guts, just requires some numbness. If you want to be AWAKE try this!

You can access this knowledge of everything, but that does NOT mean your human form can even come close to retaining it and or memorizing it. I think God is the realm of un-manifested potential and infinite possibility and ultimately is an intelligence that can communicate to us collectively and individually through synchronicity and the sub-conscious. I wouldn't say that this is an "effect of hallucinations on the brain."
I'm majoring in psychology, and I can tell you for a fact that Shamanic experiences are not hallucinations. Being in an Astral state cannot be induced by hallucinogens. Chanting and breathing are some forms of stimulation that lull the left brain into a sense of control while it does not monitor the right brain. This occurs when we sleep as well, during REM (stage 5 of sleep). Brain activity is at its peak during this time.

And since when do Shamans use hallucinogen drugs like LSD? When a Shaman is on a spiritual journey, they receive very accurate info (about their lives, problems, etc.), but when you are high, you visually hallucinate (and-or receive auditory hallucinations). Psycheldellic drugs distort perception and evoke sensory images in the absence of sensory input - some can be opiates, which depress neural activity and block receptor sites for pain as endorphins.

@makedownrecords i am zeitgeist movement member and also participate in ayahuasca ceremonies when i can. ayahuasca has shown me that there is a god source of some kind and spirituality is important. it also resonates with certain values within the movement ie conectivity between all things in our world. ayahuasca helps me be in touch spiritually without needing to follow any particular religious beliefs other than my own from personal experience.
