  • this engine sounds so nice at 7k rpms

  • If you have the M226 rear axle, I strongly recommend going with Truetrac. I have it and it was a great mod. Offers much better traction.

  • Yea definitely. Bout to have a shop redo my diff-its humming. Hope t have it upgraded to limited slip or whatever.

  • Yeah, unfortunately these engine to eat tensioners. I changed mine just for safety when I put cams in at 30K. They looked OK then but it would be foolish not to do them when I had the front end tore down.

  • Nice. My 6 speed has had a lot of fun like that but I strethced the timing chains and wore down the tensioners. Expensive.

  • Sweet video dude! Makes me wish I had a 6 speed in my 05.

  • also, have you switched up your rear end ratio at all?

  • @321beachside

Yes. I have 4.11's and Truetrac now, just installed shortly before this video.

  • Nice. The key to getting the most out of these motors, transmission and rear end ratios is keeping high RPM's. I have an 06 automatic SE KC and anything below 4000 RPM just bogs down. Im sure the cams have pretty much everything to do with that.

  • hmmm, as much as it PAINS me to say! ill admit your truck is faster, simply because mine is an automatic, so technically you have more available horse power lol

    but check mine out :)

  • @MGdriver77 ,\

I checked your truck out. It looks cool and sounds good. And take no offense to this please, but there are a lot differences between our trucks besides the transmissions. Just to list a few of the big mods== I have Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams, Ported 350Z plenums with a custom spacer, Truetrac, testpipes, and many many more mods including the traditional ones. And there have been many of these mods and horsepower added since I did this video.

  • @rodneyrie No offense taken! I was very wrong to make such a claim plain and simple lol My truck has been through hell and back for more, i rolled it over on the highway last year ( i fell asleep) and then 2 weeks after i got it out of the shop, on a very narrow back road, a deer Bolted out in front of me! 6k worth of damage to the front end of the frame....but this time it was not my fault. But i think its fair to say, she looks pretty good for all thats happened to her!

  • Well, most japanese trucks are speed limited to 180kmh, which is about 112mph. So I guess thats one of the reasons your speedometer stops just shy of that. I can only assume that on the newer 4.0 Frontiers, Nissan wanted owners to think their more powerful motors will go must faster. But of course they were still limited to 112mph. But a tune fixes that. Mine should top out somewhere in the 140-150 range, but I doubt I'll ever try that.

  • my 2001 speedometer only goes to 110?

  • I seriously doubt your 07 is better.

  • @rodneyrie Do you think my truck is all stock? im fully aware that the 07s have restrictions, which is exactly why i installed a Tuner chip from SuperChips, allows me to remove that restriction, But i havent done any speed runs with my new 20 inch wheels, i doubt ill be able to have the same results.

    please dont doubt me :)

  • Yeah, it runs pretty strong and I'm still doing improvements. I figure it had about another 10-15mph left before topped out, but my tires are only H rated, so I didn't want to push them too bad.

  • this really is the fastest frontier on video. all the stillen guys drive like pussy's

  • @haveacigar420 hahaha thats true

  • i like this video! but my 07 is better!!! hahah :)

  • Fantastic job on the gears Rodneyrie!
