You can't NOT respect a band who departs so far from what was normal. Nu-metal killed grunge and, honestly in my opinion, thank God for it.

Well I've been learning the guitar and let me just say playing the scales on guitar fast is not easy. You'll learn to play power chords (which is what this song is mainly) before you'll learn to play a really good solo on the scales. So have some respect for those death metal guitar players.

I think as you get better, you'll start to realize what I mean. The real talent of a good lead guitar is in combining and varying scales. Not just blazing through set patterns, which is what death metal almost universally is.

@ICreamsodAI This isn't death metal. Which is why it's better. Death metal is a completely talentless form of "music." The guitar riffs are just guys speeding through scales as fast as they can - a child could learn to do that; it's nothing more than rote memorization of "patterns." No innovation at all.

And the vocals? Completely non-musical. The "growling" "screaming" thing is all fine and good as a brief accent (like Korn does) but not as the main vocals. It's not even a note.

This was korn's best album hands down. JD sounds so raw in this. I think it was right after this that he started to lose his growl. Life is Peachy was good but it still lacks the bite that this one had.

The biggest disappointment for me was listening to Issues. I absolutely hated it. After that it was just one crappy album after another.

Korn is not the only band that has disappointed me. It seems all or most heavy metal bands go through this evolution from hardcore to crap.

I like Korn's stuff up until the dubstep, but I feel the dubstep elements took more precendance than the instruments...To me it sounded too loud and I couldn't hear the instruments as well. No offence to any dubstep fans or fans of the new record, but I really, really dislike it.

This band is made of pure win and magic. Charlie Sheen was never winning like this band does. Hit after hit, Style change without losing that "Korny" sound. The future of metal is spearheaded by this band.

@Baelthaden I'm not really digging the dubstep thing. Also, I prefer KoRn or any other nu-metal band to stay in the lower register of the guitar. For example, this song, the verses of Let the Guilt Go and the chorus of It's On. Lastly, I like how Jon's voice has a growl to it on this song and Sean Olson, unfortunately he lost that around Untouchables . Those things make KoRn a masterpiece to me, so it makes me sad that I'm not hearing much of those qualities in the dubstep fusion their doing.
