What is happening is a good example poor "mirroring" that babies need from their parents in order to fully adjust as older children and even into adulthood. the baby intentionally looks down to the floor when DAD has the mask on. The mask can not mirror the emotional affect that the baby is experiencing which is FEAR! When Dad takes the mask off, baby cries because he needs COMFORT. Dad 'could' do that by mirroring the emotional affect that he experiencing,
