Well, 4x4s are pretty fast, even stock. And z's got at least 280 to 300. Maybe the z was stick and he didnt know how to shift. But yea was close race. Go Tacoma! I raced at that same track got 9.782 at 71.40 mph with my 4x2 and had a passenger. Tacomas are nice trucks!!!!

Yes, it's obvious the 350Z would have won in the 1/4, especially since it won in the 1/8.

But just imagine how the Tacoma would do with less than $5000 worth of mods. A TRD supercharger and a few other things would probably make it win and it would still cost less than the Z.

hey guys this is my truck. The launch was done in 4wd and switched to 2wd. I gave it a little bit of clutch slip so it didn't bog down. The 5vz is a great engine, but it only revs as high as 5500, which it does not make a whole lot of power up top. This was my first and last time at the track was just going with my friend and his sti.

This just goes to show that other automakers are capable of a huge engine on wheels to go in a straight line, but choose not to because they can make more reliable, faster, more practical, and better selling cars using non-ridiculous engine sizes. Also Toyota's 5.7 is kills the entire 1500 trucks v8 class.
