I think this song is on a music album called thanks/you composed by Dai, although I'm not 100% positive since I don't own the album, I just did a wikisearch to confirm the info given in the video description.
The Anime is about the friends u see in this video. Before beginning of the actual action an incurable illness broke out, which strikes the nervous system and which into an unstable condition of rage shifts concerning. Thus the striking attacked their fellow men, until they killed themselves in the last stage. After and after the characteres fall for this illness and try to kill each other. Its sad but also a very good story.

Not when the anime is as good as Higurashi is, it's not.
I watched the first two seasons in one period of being awake (can't really say one sitting, and it technically changed to the next day halfway through the second season). If the third season was out when I watched those the first time, I probably woulda done it too.
