This would be convenient even for gamers that pay for their games. They could have their games backed-up and launch them whenever they want without having to changing discs or worrying about scratches.

why not just run the zelda game and load the homebrew channel. If you know someone with the game its so easy. test book stuff and you can play all your games using the loader on that.
There are PLENTY of reasons. Soft mods are a mess and WILL be detected by Nintendo in the future. I wouldn't risk losing access to all of my Wii Shop Channel purchases or get banned from online play if Nintendo detects the soft mod.
Not only does the FlatMii bypass the 3x read limitation of soft mods, it can read / load *faster* than an original disc. Also, it saves you from burning dozens of backup discs and dealing with media quality issues.
I don't care if I have to open my wii that I broke the DVD power connector off the Wii motherboard, so it can no longer power any DVD drive. I would be an ideal product if the price is right.
ya.. i opened it onece when i installed the mod chip, and its passed the warranty time now. So i would open my Wii again if it can really load ALL the games from HDD.
Then again, if there IS a HDD Loader for Wii just like the ones on the PS2, thats a good choice too.
I hate the sound that Wii made when loading the game.
Even this is a really great technical improvement, IT SUCKS! OPEN MY WII? NO WAY..if there were an external HD for the wii, and the posibility to run games from there, maybe this cought some attention..ill stay with my backup loader channel.

any chance of giving some reasons to 'back-up' your argument. hehe, no seriously please elaborate :)

Drivekey works on all drives and is easy to install.
That's it.
For the power user, a Wiikey 2 and Flatmii combo, or even just a Wiikey or Flatmii by themselves are so much more cost-effective and more powerful.

I do wonder if this could be combined with Datel's Drive Doctor which can connect the Wii to the computer via USB without opening up the Wii.
Yea, that Wii drive can get quite noisy, at first I thought I put it back together wrong or I tightened something too tight.

Looks like I did not the Drive Doctor's description full. You do have to open it up and solder it. Whoops
