thats a cheapie, junk. thanks for the dedication. did you know i screwed up my username? it wasnt supposed to be CRANEPlumbing it was supposed to be CRANEPLUMBING
The handle looks like for a newer Eljer Patriot. Judging by the flushing performance, I bet that was a 3.5 gallon Crane bowl with an Eljer Patriot 1.5 gallon tank slapped on.
I remember looking inside the tank, and it did have an Eljer tank on it. The hotel was undergoing some renovations around the time I was staying there (they were almost done with the renovations, though), so I think the hotel's owners decided to get 1.6 gpf tanks to conserve water but they wanted to be within their budget so the bowls stayed.
@CRANEPlumbing Yup, this is quite junk but it has a unique flush. This model was made in 1952 and it discontinued in 1988! And this toilet model is a Drexel, not a Crane Radcliffe if you were curious.
A shitload of water came down when I flushed this (probably a 3.5 gpf toilet), so I doubt that's the issue. The trapway's paper thin, so that's definately a cause for this toilet's problems.
is in Portland, oregon

Just needs an adjustment of the water level or flapper replaced.

The tank of that looks exactly like the eljer patriot even the handle.

It looks like they put a 1.6 tank on a 3.5 bowl.

Looks like the water level in the tank needs to be raised.

it could have been that flapper closing early. Do you mean the whole tank emptied that quick?
gusherb94 2 years ago
On the other hand, I just discovered less than a minute ago that the tank is a 1.6 gpf tank for an Eljer toilet. Major mismatch there :\.

That's what i thought, does it flush better with the handle held down?
gusherb94 2 years ago
Yes, flushing with the handle held down definately makes things better in the short run in this case.
