if you live in florida, and you want to play drums, guitar, or bass (i can play all three) in a band influenced by old green day, NoFX, old blink 182, ramones etc, PM me
Question: if a person actually had a valid and important point to make, does it help or hinder the communication to look, act, and be sub-human? Screaming words to a very annoying noise track while pretending to be profound and meaningful seems counter-productive. What a self-righteous pride trip.
@wargear257 Hey, the fact you didn't use a single vulgarity in that last sentence proves that people can change. In fact, heavy metal, punk thrashers sometimes become (gasp) one of those stupid religious people after they grow up and their brains dry out.
@truthtuube Its not a matter of change at all, the fact that i didnt use vulgarity in ONE sentence doesnt mean shit, because like you see here, just about every OTHER sentence that is typed or comes out of my mouth is full of profanity. Sp fuck off asshole
@wargear257 Aw, now you're just over-reacting to try to prove to someone that you're a real bad dude. But deep inside, you know you don't want to be a loser.

I stumbled upon this while using stumble. It was on a list of things I should do while stoned. It told me to air guitar this song with my eyes closed hah
I remember listening to this song on a portable CD player when I was young, It took i could only put like 4 other songs on the same CD cause it was 18 minuets long.
Y'all should listen to 'Exponential Times' by Cobra Skulls. Cool band. Reminds me of this, probably because of the bass at the beginning. Theme is probably comparable, too.
Shit, never mind. I can't find it on youtube. But if you can find it somewhere else, do.
@CerpinTaxt37 I just don't think it's particularly unique/groundbreaking to depict Americans as sheep-like victims. We'll leave it at that. You're right, though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I like the music.
I think this song is amazing for so many reasons. Political messages aside it confirms what we already know (for punk fans). That punks aren't stupid. A musical opus doesn't have to be classical, post-rock or instrumental. It just has to mean something. A masterpiece is about the writer(s) putting everything they have into something they believe in, and convey that to the listening public, and in every sense of a masterpiece, this should be enjoyed for what it is. a profoundly massive effort
NoFX have more than a few tongue in cheek political songs, they have less straight forward political songs. They are satirical and rely on comedy for their medium.
They are not to be compared to the likes of Bad Religion, RIse Against, Anti-Flag, Propaghandi, and to a lesser extent Subhumans.
Now SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO SOME FUCKING GOOD MUSIC!!
I love their music, the best I've heard in punk. Ijust can't stand their lyrics. The religous right is not the source of all evil in this country. They are just an easy demographic to insult, and it makes for some easy lyrics. To their credit they do have some songs that take on people with traditional liberal views.(animal rights and feminism).
@kingkillaxx87 How can you honestly believe this? Religion has given a lot of people an excuse to commit hate crimes all over this planet. 'He's black! It says in the bible that black people aren't even human!' 'The infidels allow women to have equal rights? Well we will just have to stone this woman because she was raped!'
@phillybebop I agree with what you say about nuts using religion for wrong. I also think you are a complete dork for your last sentence. Do you think you are Yoda or something? Silly. The Dorkness is strong in you.
@kingkillaxx87 Theyre so easy to target because they MAKE it easy. Especially since the right isnt the only side of the spectrum that has unquestioning loyalty to Christianity. They may not be the ultimate source of hatred in this country, but they are definitely a huge chunk of it. If they dont expose these assholes in music, who will? Bad religion does, but its usually cryptic lyrics that most people dont understand.I love how straightforward they are and thats why i continue to listen to them
@hobbitcore That's it since you can't answer the question ask me my age. No I'm not 15. And I will not respond to you further since I see no gain in talking to someone who didn't realize that nofx has always been political. Goodbye.
@Beerbongavenger Arguing with someone who calls you 15 is just as pointless as arguing with someone whose only argument for claiming NOFX was political was that they were a punk band. Wait a minute, you're right, what was I thinking? I forgot about all those uber political songs by The Ramones and The Damned and The Cramps and The Misfits.
I like this song but lets keep it real, this wouldve fit right in on "45 or 46 songs that werent good enough for our other albums" because its really 9 or 10 short songs crammed together without breaks in between. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I doubt they wrote and composed this with the intent of being one long 18 minute song, its really just a bunch of song fragments put together as one.
@ruin3r no you're wrong. It was theyre intention all along to write an epic and extremely long song. fat mike said this song took 6 months to write and record and was way harder to create then any of their albums. And no way it sounds like more then one song. The lyrics are obviously all based on the same thing throughout and the transitions to different parts of the song are on point.
@becauseelgothigh143 actually whoever writes their chord actually makes them quite complex from a perspective of theory. they like to use alot of dissonance like quartertones and diminished chords and borrowed chords like the Neapolitan and the secondary dominant. Does anyone know who writes their songs? i wanna guess that its El Jefe cuz he seems the most well versed in theory, since he plays like 10 instruments, or however many it is.
@imacoolkid613 well theyve been musicians their entire lives, and theyre over forty now so they all must have learned something along the way. also Mikes a beast on the bass
@imacoolkid613 Mike writes most of the songs to start, jefe plays lead guitar, and erick melvin is probably one of the most underrated rhythm guitarists around, dood i see you going on about this and that, but in punk guitar here we are talking about mainly power chords with some groovy extensions mixed in, not to downplay it at all, but pick up your ax and screw around and you will most likely find a nofx jam
@BecauseIgothigh143 The Ramones, The Clash, and The Pistols are the reason this generation doesn't suck? That doesn't make sense I don't think any of them are releasing new material let alone together anymore, I'd say NOFX and every band on FAT is the reason this decade doesn't suck.
@TechFXpunk yeah cause people define their generation with shit they created in thier era, didnt you get the "who fucking cares, its music" memo??? sad man you need to get on that shit
@cobhcmofo313 Wtf? do you even know what you're talking about? A generation is defined by the shit they create in their era! Those bands music may still live long but they definitely don't define our generation they defined the 70's, I'm not belittling any those bands I'm just making sense out of a nonsensible comment. So maybe you should look at your "Who fucking cares, its music" memo.
@TechFXpunk for fuck sake it was a joke, maybe you need to chill a bit, and it was showing how kids now adays hold stronger bonds to the bands of yester year, not so much the new ones coming out, the statement was ment as sarcasim but i guess flew right by you huh???
@cobhcmofo31 I know you're first statement was sarcastic and I argued that point...did you even read my comment? well either/or here we go. Obviously kids hold stronger bonds to the bands of yester year, they have a whole following and strong fan base they're way easier to get into, but that by no means new punk sucks! kids today need to get out of their narrow-minded view of "Punk died in the 70's" and support some new music cuz were doing it harder, faster, and with more love!
@TechFXpunk your views are on a fixed scale my friend, first off, quote from slc punk so you know i read your coment, kids today are fucked, we were too, and punk cant die, only disgustingly re-invented and on occasion, be re-lived threw a good band, im not saying todays punk sucks, i was saying kids today suck. but at least they got attitude which is what its about, so fuck your love, and have a punk day fucker ;) (disclaimer: if you noticed i agreed w/ you, so no bad air. right?) gimme a band
@cobhcmofo313 You want some bands? Pour Habit, Teenage Bottlerocket, Cobra Skulls, Star Fucking Hipsters, Against Me!, Dead To Me, None More Black, The Flatliners, Leftover Crack, The Lawrence Arms, and Public Serpents.
@TechFXpunk pour habit is THE SHIT!!! great band! i got to meet them when they came to st louis two days ago. the flatliners are also awesome as hell i wanna see them live so bad. REAL PUNK LIVES
This shit is too long but still good, seems like the new punk epic kind of like 'kids of the black hole' by the adolescents was the anthem back in the day.
@sam573133 ....no way dude...I saw them 3 days in a row here in Montreal and they walked right off the stage into the crowd and socialized ALL NIGHT. NOFX is a million fuckin billion miles from stuck up.
its funny to see that bands such as blink 182 who were influenced by such amazing bands such as nofx and pennywise felt the need to be so mainstream :P
@pazinjan12345 They got pretty eaten by the bussines and are commercial. And it's a pity that many bands don't play like they did in the old days, mainly because they grow up. But, on the other way, look at Blink 182 then and now, they still try to play as they did in 20 years, that just looks bad.
@pazinjan12345 You have no right to call something punk ! Me neither. Green Day in their first albums were pretty good ;) Or, if you are so intelligent - tell me what punk is :) dumbfuck.
@pazinjan12345 Shut the fuck up poser, who are you to tell what is punk ? And, what if it's not punk ? Is santa coming after me ? Wake up !! I'm not punker, I have my own style, i listen whatever i like to. And if you can read - I didn't mean OLD SCHOOL PUNK (as its called) !
I didnt mean the old punk era, the first punk. I meant the "neo punk" era - Bad religion, NOFX, Rancid, Green Day ; didnt mean Ramones, Sex Pistols etc.
@RandomMan1 I don't remember that. Wish I was born in 1975 - i would be teenage when bands like NOFX, Rancid, Green Day, Sum 41 and couple of other smaller bands were at their start, when punk was what everyone listened to and world wasn't as fucked up as now :(
@tolipotua12 dude, not 75, but close, 76 here. and i will say, it was pretty damn epic, with nofx and rancid being staples at live shows, the first warped tour had: Tilt, Swingin' Utters, No Use for a Name,L7, Deftones. Was pretty damn epic.
101% masterpiece

@cobhcmofo31 I know you're first statement was sarcastic and I argued that point...did you even read my comment? well either/or here we go. Obviously kids hold stronger bonds to the bands of yester year, they have a whole following and strong fan base they're way easier to get into, but that by no means new punk sucks! kids today need to get out of their narrow-minded view of "Punk died in the 70's" and support some new music cuz were doing it harder, faster, and with more love!
TechFXpunk 7 months ago
@TechFXpunk your views are on a fixed scale my friend, first off, quote from slc punk so you know i read your coment, kids today are fucked, we were too, and punk cant die, only disgustingly re-invented and on occasion, be re-lived threw a good band, im not saying todays punk sucks, i was saying kids today suck. but at least they got attitude which is what its about, so fuck your love, and have a punk day fucker ;) (disclaimer: if you noticed i agreed w/ you, so no bad air. right?) gimme a band

Love this song but it seriously could of been shortened by like 4 minutes

This shit is too long but still good, seems like the new punk epic kind of like 'kids of the black hole' by the adolescents was the anthem back in the day.

@pazinjan12345 greenday is the greates punk band ever.
Sugardaddy86 8 months ago
its funny to see that bands such as blink 182 who were influenced by such amazing bands such as nofx and pennywise felt the need to be so mainstream :P
eddd31 8 months ago
@pazinjan12345 They got pretty eaten by the bussines and are commercial. And it's a pity that many bands don't play like they did in the old days, mainly because they grow up. But, on the other way, look at Blink 182 then and now, they still try to play as they did in 20 years, that just looks bad.
tolipotua12 8 months ago
@pazinjan12345 You have no right to call something punk ! Me neither. Green Day in their first albums were pretty good ;) Or, if you are so intelligent - tell me what punk is :) dumbfuck.
tolipotua12 8 months ago
@pazinjan12345 Shut the fuck up poser, who are you to tell what is punk ? And, what if it's not punk ? Is santa coming after me ? Wake up !! I'm not punker, I have my own style, i listen whatever i like to. And if you can read - I didn't mean OLD SCHOOL PUNK (as its called) !
tolipotua12 8 months ago
@Vulpecula101
I didnt mean the old punk era, the first punk. I meant the "neo punk" era - Bad religion, NOFX, Rancid, Green Day ; didnt mean Ramones, Sex Pistols etc.

Remember when people organized protests?
Remember when the idea of change didn't involve making a facebook group?
Remember when petitions had signatures?
Remember when helping starving people meant giving food to the homeless, not updating your profile picture?
Remember when the people had the power?
Remember when the word 'revolution' meant something other than clicking thumbs up on a youtube comment?
I MISS THE OLD REVOLUTIONARIES.

@RandomMan1 isn't it irony that you have all these thumbs up? haha
samrojas 9 months ago
@RandomMan1 I don't remember that. Wish I was born in 1975 - i would be teenage when bands like NOFX, Rancid, Green Day, Sum 41 and couple of other smaller bands were at their start, when punk was what everyone listened to and world wasn't as fucked up as now :(
tolipotua12 9 months ago
Im 35 and PUNK like PUNK PUNK PUNK was late in my mom's wild days. Disco era... same time
Vulpecula101 9 months ago
@tolipotua12 dude, not 75, but close, 76 here. and i will say, it was pretty damn epic, with nofx and rancid being staples at live shows, the first warped tour had: Tilt, Swingin' Utters, No Use for a Name,L7, Deftones. Was pretty damn epic.
blur991 7 months ago
@RandomMan1 Well actually when you post this it's kind a contradiction lol
