Amazing! Congratulations for this, I´m going to use in my school in Tenerife (Spain), never mind we don´t speak english, because the message is universal and very clear for the entire world. Greetings.
¡Magnifico! Felicitaciones, voy a usarlo en mi escuela en Tenerife (España), no importa que no hablemos inglés, porque el mensaje es universal y muy claro para todo el mundo. Saludos.
also heres a fun fact, the average person is recorded ten times a day by businesses, individuals and and banks. the average person also can now mask their number when sending mms/sms with lil to no skill. Times have changed, things get even scarier once you go deeper...but oh well.
to control the interwebs is to control freedom of speech...talk to coica you two would get along.
but hey press on i guess, you can only hope for a more controlled tomorrow...i say just deal with it be an adult n quit being stupid who you send stuff to.
Also we live in a society of remixing and digital anger, so in short its impossible to end this, cause my M.A.C address as well as my IP shows me in another country and if im gonna take someones photo and do what i please im certainly not going to send it to my victim...thats just dumb!
Okay, for one i would never send out photos, videos, or information to others or social networking sites that i wouldnt want to become public. Two when we sign up for Facebook, twitter, or even email accounts in the terms and agreements it states your pix are now part of their property. Also whenever you send a picture to someone, you are technically giving them the rights to do with it what they may, after whos gonna stop me? This is the price we pay for free social pages.
If you are in, know someone in or think you are in a verbally and emotionally abusive relationship, Chicken Nachos is a must read! Change the laws to protect the innocent and help protect the victims as they free themselves from the abuse.
very powerful - I would really love you and your comments/followers to participate in my film project I'm working on - please check out my youtube site.
A very powerful and informative video! There is very little awareness of how ICT tools can and are being used fo violate online spaces for women. And how women can take control and use ICT tools to combat violence and to disrupt sexist spaces. This campaign rocks!
@TheJenrad I would like you to participate in my film project I'm working on - please check out my youtube site entitled: Single Girl in a Virtual world: What does a 21st century feminist look like? Thank you!.
@mukaketupat good question. hmm... maybe cause posters help to send the msg that violence is no ok. so when it happens, ppl might step in, stop it & end violence against women :)
Great video, and fantastic campaign. ICTs can be used to violate women's rights, but they're also a valuable tool in the global fight against violence against women. Thanks for spreading the word.
@sk3965 I would like you to participate in my film project I'm working on - please check out my youtube site entitled: Single Girl in a Virtual world: What does a 21st century feminist look like? Thank you!.

awesome video! looking forward to learn and discuss more what can we do to create online world as a place without fear, silence and conformity for not only men but also women. What type of skills, knowledge and technology do women need to be able to prevent and address sexism, harassment or voyeurism in digital world?

Great initiative. Controlling technology is never easy but we can help people make better choice on content. Moral value must be praised into our society. And by the way, real men don't use violence to make a point.
Technology has implications for the way women experience violence. But it also holds opportunities for us in terms of how we can respond to violence and work to end it. Take Back The Tech!
Women of the world, we want to hear from you about your ability to communicate where you are! We would like to share you podcast, blog or video on this topic with the world to have stronger freedom of expression. We are looking to create stronger communication rights and push the UN to take Article 19 seriously! Check out our YouTube Channel.
important campaign indeed - i won't be surprised it VAW is even more prevalent in cyberspace when it is so easy for people to be anonymous and unaccountable with their actions/abuse.
Previously we only thought that violence against women could only happen on streets and even worse in the sanctity of a home. Women have become the subject of sexual abuse, sexual torture and sexual harassment. Now, the globalisation has its impact on women. Women are now the victim of exploitation of the technology. Torture and violence against women has taken another step forward. They abuse the technology and make women their victim. Together we should stop this.
A nice and witty way of conveying a relevant message :)

There are no women on the Internet. Just men pretending to be women.

It is not wrong to be violent to women anymore than it is to a man.

Women are disproportionately the victims of violence?
Correct. They are half the population and a quarter of the victims.
What are you doing to ensure that women are proportionately the victims of violence?

Cldn't agree with you more. But tech is a double edged sword hey? It can be used to empower as well as disempower. More to using tech for activism!
