You have a nice deep voice. like it. My setup is not expensive at all. Mic is about 50 bucks (MXL 990). Preamp is about 30 bucks. Also used a Shure sm57 mic for the guitar which is about $100. Guitar is about $350.

hmmm... call me paranoid but ur mouth is definately blurred out for some reason... pretty sure you probably laid this over and couldn't get the mouth to line up so you did some editing lol... idk, but the fingers are completely clear and visible but at no point in the video can you ever clearly see the mouth... it's just a blur 2:50

Why do you sing at the side of a mic ??? This is a large diaphragm condenser and YES you should sing right at diaphragm because that's where it picks your vocal vibrations (at least this model's polar pattern).

I used headset to hear the metronome. the "huge studio mic" is a 50 bucks MXL 990. And I used a Shure 57 to record the guitar. This way my voice has a more close and intimate feel (just like the original recording) and the guitar track has more space feel.

@sluggo163 Click tracks don't have anything to do with the mastering process. And mastering has nothing to do with editing the song, that's mixing. And it easily could be a live recording. A good mix has little done to it. Maybe a slash of reverb and a tiny bit of EQ. However, if you've set up your pre-amp properly you don't need to do this.

it doesn't affect the sound since you're barring the whole chord (all 6 strings)

however, you won't be able to get the slide sound you hear in the intro of the original recording if you use a capo on the 3rd. But I can't get the slide sound without the capo either anyway. fingers are not strong enough to slide while barring. :-)
