well the style music i play all the drummers use the pinstripe and tighten the top head real tight but i don't want it to have too much ring like regular steel does but i have never used stainless before so i was wondering if its sound is more like aluminum
I recently bought this snare from your company...this have a lot of buzz to it because i don't want to muffle it too much..i don't know if i should have gone for aluminum..i want to put a remo pinstripe clear head on it
@xplizit1503 Try tightening the four bottom tension rods on either side of the snare wires. Also, you can use an Evans Dry or HD Dry . . . will help a lot.
@willzbarker12345 This is just my personal preference, but you can't go wrong with a mix of the two brands. My preferred Sabian models are the HHX(treme) and AAX-plosion models for crashes, and I have a ReZo A Custom set of hi-hats.
@RoshanDrummer Chad Szeliga (BB Drummer) uses a 13x6.5 edge snare and tunes it fairly tight/high. i love his snare sound so if you were to try to mimic it i would try a 14x6.5 just because of the steel vs wood sound comparison. i personally own a 14x6.5 super solid edge and that sounds so good aswell. let me know if this helps later
@RoshanDrummer Yeah Chad is an amazing drummer, killer chops too. I really dont have too much experience with walnut shells, but from experimenting i found that they are naturally darker and pretty warm. basically just experiment with different heads. Heads can be a giant part of your sound if you find one that really compliments your snare. The way you tune is big aswell, Chad tunes his reso head pretty damn tight but be sure to never choke your snare. dont forget to try different tunings too.

@hendrickvps in my opinion, aluminum has a warmer, fatter sort of sound

@baxslol Hey mate, thanks for your response! Yeah that's exactly what I want my snare to sound, like Chad's. He's an amazing drummer BTW!
would i be able to achieve such a sound with a 14*6,5 walnut snare (black panther) which I have now?
