apparently sidharth bhatia who wrote cinema modern-the navketan story saw a poor print of this version and wrote it off as a bad film.this short clip itself appears stilted,so one has to believe bhatia.anyway for dev fans it will be a rare treat especially since he has left us last month.

Many years ago i watch this English version Dev Sa'ab "The Guide" at Rajkot City in Gujarat,India in Galaxy Cinema,it has whole same story,but end of the movie is diffrent than its Hindi version,in Hindi "Guide" has end with rain and happy end,but in English version there was no rain after fasting of Devanand,and at the end he dies.it was nice experience to watch that movie.since then i am trying to find same English version everywhere i can,but am not success.it was rare chance.

only one print of this film exists with dev anand.dont know what condition its in.its impossible to think of a theatrical release.maybe someday on dvd.

Years back I had heard that there was an English version of all time classic "Guide" and saw the clip for first time. It is not the simple english dubbed version like most the dubbed movie, but the dialogues were actually spoken by actors in english during shoot and later dubbed by them in dubbing studio. In fact the whole movie was shot in hindi and english versions separately, simultaneouly. Thanks for upload of rare find.
