  • usually after you have applied the first coat to all the threads you want to finish, you run the torch lightly over them just a second or two.. to get your air bubbles out after mixing you should run the torch over your finish first before ever applying (i take a plate with alluminum foil wrapped around it and put the finish on it then hit it with the torch

  • actually if he is using the torch to get air bubbles out then it is still wet from the first coat.. it take about 12-24 hours to let t dry all the way

  • After the first coat of finish where the threads absorb the finish and have visible spots showing, how long did you wait to put the light second coat on? did you wait until the first coat was fully dry or just go up the rod and come right back to it?

  • when you went back on the second coat of finish, was it already dried?

  • do rod builders do the whole entire rod in epoxy/finish, or just spots you wrap?

  • @wolverines1078 i do the whole blank on saltwater and just guides on fresh
