  • Dennis Quaid as Leonardo DiCaprio???

  • dam, who would have thought that inseption was a rip off of this

  • Inception (movie) sent me here.

  • what the fuck???

  • Life and times of the NSA. Indigo Swan.

  • I Thought It is The Official Youtube Anthem! ahhahaa

  • Love this film so much... :-p

  • People need to realise that nothing in hollywood this days is original, everything is just recycled, your just paying con artists to watch shit you have already seen lol

  • Also ( i might be very wrong, but i'm too lazy to confirm it ), the finger knives that the antagonist has in one scene was before 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' came out. This movie is nothing to make jokes about, that's what Dennis Quaid's later career is for. :) jk DQ you rock man! (when not in movies called 'Frequency')

  • @therealribbit Yeah you are kind of right this movie came out 2 months before A Nightmare on Elm Street. Both movies were released in 1984.

  • People think of this when Inception is brought up because it 'did it' wayyyy better.

  • The theme to this movie soundtrack unfortunately sounds just like the "Sprinkle A Day Keeps the Odor Away" TV commercial jingle.

  • Comment removed

  • I own it and i loved it. Very creepy and scary if you watch by yourself.

  • Inception in the 80's

  • i don´t care if inception rip off stuff from this movie! I just wan´t to know if this is a good movie or not!? But you people start fighting with coments and that is the most stupid thing people can do on youtube! But it´s stronger than you, isn´t? It´s not your fault if you people already born stupid and live your lives like you aren´t. but you are. you just have to read your coment´s.

  • @TheBorgespinto It was okay. I rented it back in the day. Kinda cheesy, but to a kid of 11 or so, it had creepy parts to it.

  • Paved the way for Inception.

  • This is one of the best concepts of all time! Great Movie!

  • isnt that guy from jaws 3

  • Now that's a scary movie, not todays hollywood overused CGI mambo jambo.

  • dont forget eXistenZ

  • @fakturd78 Sick movie, dont forget Dark City :)

  • @toonyloons2006 that one too. i need to get it on dvd again

  • Brilliant movie that i saw in theaters as a kid, and it's way better and a lot more fun than either Paprika or Inception, in my humble opinion.

  • @TheAltair4

Sounds awesome, this came out at the same time as Elm Street. That's kickass you saw this in theaters when you were 4 years old, Paprika and Inception are still great movies right?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, the Snakeman really freaked me out when i saw this in the theater and i even had a nightmare about him as a kid. lol. Parika and Inception are great movies, but they owe a lot to this film as well as others such as Dark City and The Matrix.

  • sounds about right, grumpy old people trying to teach us whippersnappers how the world was... thinking we all hang out at starbucks, god i hope i'm not as sorry as you in 40 years.

  • My God ...the moron kids I encounter here on the old----poophole here !

  • Look at it this way, Inception was about using dreams to plant ideas and coerce people when they are conscious. Dreamscape was about conquering fears and using the dream to either save the person's life or assassinate them.

  • Dream on, Stuart…

    Lucid the novel dot com

  • Inception before Inception. And, to be honest, a lot more fun. I loved when Dennis Quaid helped the little boy through his Snake Man nightmare. Big time fun!!

  • it wants to be inception so bad

  • @dyce200dyce

Since this came out before Inception

    Its the other way around

  • @Selana i know but insception was better lol

  • @dyce200dyce

Not if you factor in technology !! Dreamscape was "old school" and has a better story line.... Ineption was all about special effects and basically a bad movie...

I must have waited 30 minutes for that van to fall into the water !!

I would not waste another 10 bucks on that mess of a movie ..Not to mention that endless dumbass scene in the SNOW !!!! What was that all about ...

The only good scene was the 5 people wrapped in wire and floating to safety..

    NAW !!!

  • @oceans20113 this is true lol

  • @oceans20113 wow, you really didn't understand what was going on... hahahaha

  • @phillydelphia

Guess I missed the brainiac meeting at Starfucks !!

No need to see that POS movie twice and wait for the white van to hit the water ..

Yes..the plot was different !! But the idea was stolen from Dreamscape..

So basically it was a stolen idea but re-worked ..I get all that

Now be a good brainwashed POS and shut the fuck up.... thank YOU

  • @oceans20113 hahaha, your'e going to have a heart attack at 24! don't bother with youtube bruh... time to go live your life.

  • @phillydelphia

    I already have ....I am 66 now kid !! That's an old photo !!!

    DUMBASS

  • i liked the snake mans face and expressions lol

  • Is Inception ripping this off?

Yes, because they share one common theme, entering dreams, Inception is ripping this off. Inception is also ripping off A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scott Pilgrim (because Romona Skates through Scott's dreams in the graphic novel), and various television shows which feature characters entering the dreams of others: Sabrina the Teen-aged witch, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Power Rangers, and etc.

  • inception

  • @KnowImillian

why don't you go watch Transformers and some horrible 80s slasher movie?

you clearly don't like the art of films

  • OK, let's put an end to hating this and that.

if you dreamscape fans HATE Inception, you should hate the Cell, Paprika, Total Recall, The Matrix and Dark City because those movies inspired that movie and they have similar idea to Dreamscape as well!

  • @juliusyeung0330 that's like saying, if you like the beatles then you HAVE to like a load of other shit bands around today because they were directly inspired by the beatles. I like total recall and dark city, they're tight, well written satisfying movies, but i don't like inception. each movie should be judged on it's own. it isn't the idea that makes the movie, it's the direction, the cinematography, the writing, the structure, the atmosphere, the actors and the music

  • @randolphbooth

so you hate Inception has an individual movie. so you're now admitting that Inception has it's own original Idea and also Paprika.

    but didn't you say

"fuck writing and action BLAH BLAHBLAH"???

anyways, I will still respect that you don't like the script for Inception.

But just don't go around saying how it ripped off everything.

  • @juliusyeung0330 i'm sorry but I don't even know what you're talking about anymore

  • Respond to this video... oops.. srry, it wasn't you

  • @juliusyeung0330 well not really, you coudl love some of those movies, but still not like inception. alot of movies play around with the ideas of dreams, but you can love the matrix and the cell but still hate inception, because it comes down to whats a better movie, and the cell, the matrix are better movies than inception. the idea of inception wasnt original, and it wasnt all the good of a movie. But it depends on what you like, what your preference is.

  • @KnowImillian

My reasons why Inception's dream sequences and action scenes work is because I care about who was being chased and who will succeed. I cared for the characters, and because of that, the dream sequences and action scenes were exciting. If you didn't care about the characters, which you didn't, then yes, you will be bored and you were bored.

and have you even watched my link? Christopher Nolan explains and talks about the movies and books which influenced his movie

  • @KnowImillian

It seems like you clearly don't see the point of Inception.

Inception has it's own mythology. Matrix too. and both movies are about the story of the main character. the journey, their adventure. Inception is about a man who wants to get back to his family but to do this, he has to do one last job to see his family again.

Matrix is about a hero who must save the human race from the machines.

Inception is sort of a remake of THE UNFORGIVEN mixed with sci fi movies

  • once again, I agree half with the older movies having better effects than now. but Dreamscape had such bad effects! and I've watched Siskel and Ebert's reviews and they totally bashed the 80s cults and a lot of movies.

    the effects were horrid!

but then again, I will also say that they had better effects.

I thought ray harry houser??'s efects were creepy and awesome.

    nightmare's effects was great

but the best special effects I've seen in my life is 2001 space odyssey. I couldn't believe my eyes

  • I agree with that before my generation, there were more good movies and also better. and I agree that most movies today are shit but the reasons most 80s and 70s horror fans or sci fi geeks make are because nowdays we have CGI and they hated CGI.

seriously? that's their reasons why they hate mordern movies?

How about Curious Case of Benjamin Button? Forest Gump? Bourne series???

all those great movies of today?

  • @KnowImillian

The writing and acting in this movie is WAY worse than Inception

You might argue that Inception ripped off this movie but it didn't

    The idea very different

Inception's idea is a combination of Matrix, 13th Floor, Paprika, Dark City and Blade Runner. and probably this movie too but I doubt it.

When Chris Nolan was interviewed, he said he was influenced by Matrix on the idea of using a machine and entering a world together with other people.

  • @juliusyeung0330

    AGREED! AGREED SO FUCKING MUCH!

  • I loved Inception and I loved the special effects.

most of the movie wasn't CGI.

the corridor and no gravity was actually real. they built it.

the story was amazing and the acting was also great

  • @juliusyeung0330 - Really, no CG? Some of friends told me about that movie. There are definitely plenty of modern movies that are really good. It doesn't matter what decade it is. Whether movies get "better" overtime is a matter of opinion. Everyone has a different opinion about what's "better". There are just certain styles of filmmaking special effects you don't see much today. I like special effects, just not when they're used in place of good writing.

  • This clearly influenced Nolan.. or was it an accident that Nolan got the same idea when he watched Matrix, 13th Floor, Dark City and Blade Runner?

  • the inspiration for inception?

  • the cell totally ripped off this movie

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt

no, it's wrong to say that.

  • I'd use my dream to fuck hot babes

  • @siliconsurf u can lucid dream :)

  • Jesus! Even Max Von Sydow looks like Michael Caine in this!

  • Freddy krugger was invented from this film.

A Nightmare on Elm Street was inspired by this movie.

Dreamscape set it off for the whole

    Dream, Horror, sci fi, thrillers.

  • @515sbest

    no... not exactly

Freddy Kruger and the Nightmare franchise was influenced by a newspaper article about a teen aged boy who was killed while sleeping and his parents found pills and coffee machines under his bed so that he would not sleep again. and FREDDY was influenced by a drunken man on street which frightened Wes Craven and the name was from a bully who bullyed Wes.

This movie, just happens to be a little similar to Inception...

  • The old INCEPTION.

  • @smilebruce

no, it's more like the old PAPRIKA or MATRIX

  • I'm sorry but it was so lame. :D It made me laugh. It seems that its time is up now.

  • Inception was good, I guess, I'm trying to figure out if I liked it or not. Beautifully shot, well acted, and well written (Maybe overly written). That being said, if you want to see a real twisted movie about dreams, you can do no better than this. Dreamscape!!!

  • @JakOptions

than you probably like this more than Inception

  • District 9 is the only big budget sci-fi film of recent years worth mentioning. Inception was boring, utterly humourless, filled with pseudo intellectual exposition, contradictions and plot holes [has christopher nolan ever even had a dream?]. Avatar looked like a toy advert and had the narrative to match. I hope in years to come it will be district 9 that's remembered. As for dreamscape....good movie

  • @randolphbooth TROLL!!!!!!

  • @rbdickson14 sorry, did I upset your boyfriend christopher nolan. COCK!!!!!!

  • @randolphbooth yes, you did

  • @randolphbooth Have to agree mostly.District 9 was ground breaking while Inception, though clever,is full of mistakes.

  • @KGMDMusic

no, but it wasn't filled with enough characters for a lot of people.

    that's not a mistake.

D9 was about humanity. it was a great movie. but i dunno why so many sci fi geeks and nerds hate it so much

  • @randolphbooth

I respect your opinions ESPECIALLY AVATAR!

I really liked that movie in 3D but the fans were too fucking stupid

but I have to disagree with you on INCEPTION

Inception was well written and well acted.

your reasons are only the personal problems you had with the movie.

I don't find ANY sci fi movie intelligent. it might have a great idea. interesting one but it never is intelligent. I think thrillers and spy movies are intelligent but anyway, you also said that the movie had...

  • @randolphbooth the movie had lots of plot holes. what plot holes? I would like to know your review on this movie. not a rant. a good review of Inception

Inception being boring to you is a personal thing.

I would like to know more on what you think of Inception. Why do you hate it?

and even if you hate it, you should still support that movie.

Inception was one of the only original block busters movies that came out the past 2 years.

Some people HATED D9, i htought it was great...

  • @randolphbooth

but it didn't have a lot of support.

Inception would teach hollywood that people are tired of sequels and bad movies. it's success and support will tell hollywood that audiences want sensible, well written and well directed movies.

and also D9 was not a big budget sci fi film. It was pretty cheap but great

It was similar to AVATAR ( the story and humans being the stronger ones ) but much better.

  • @juliusyeung0330 there are hordes of intelligent sci-fi movies, you just have to look for them ['moon' as a recent example...or my favourite sci-fi 'videodrome']. The writing in inception is poor, i'm sorry but it is. it's clunky and functional, allowing little character development and focusses largely on explaining the mechanics of the 'dreamworld' to the audience instead of allowing it to breath for itself....

  • @randolphbooth

MOON was VERY intelligent. Yes it is because the story is well structured and well.

But I respect your opinion that you don't like Inception's writing

  • @juliusyeung0330 ...... A guy once said of cinema "show, don't tell" and i have to agree with him. I can't remember a single line from inception and given that it's nearly three hours long i find that quite telling. I'm not that bothered if hollywood dies a death to be honest, european and, increasingly, asian cinema offers much more variety, better writing and more daring offerings than hollywood ever did or will....

  • @randolphbooth - Yeah. One really magical and enchanting film in recent years I saw was MirrorMask, but it came from Great Britain. The only promising talent from America (or Canada, I'm not sure) was David Lynch. He made really haunting, brutally immersive films for a period, but now his movies are just random babble to me. Hours of pure nothing.

  • @randolphbooth

    that is absolutely true

    I'm actually Korean :P

Most Korean movies and European movies are better than most american blockbusters because our movies have better drama and heart.

I think Hitchcock said "show, don't tell" but he isn't GOD of all cinema!

and that quote is wrong beacause if it was true, then the quoter would be indirectly saying that Pulp Fiction is a terrible movie

  • @juliusyeung0330 I didn't say hitchcock was GOD of cinema and you've misinterpreted the quote completely. Pulp Fiction contains 'dialogue', not loose exposition. show don't tell doesn't mean 'don't have any dialogue' it means don't use dialogue to constantly tell the audience the narrative of the film.

  • man just seen the previews of this new move it might be called dream scape but it looks just like this cant wait o yea DONT WAST YOUR MONEY ON PREDATER

  • inception completely stole from dreamscape

  • @CharlzInCharge13 kinda, but not really the idea of going into an ulternate reailty/dreams has been in other movies too

    examples:

    Nightmare on Elm st

    The Matrix

    The Cell

  • @potcatworldsend Don't forget Paprika.

  • @BlueSkyFlacon yep,that movie too

one of the scenes in inception was inspired by paprika

  • @potcatworldsend NO scenes in Inception were inspired by Paprika. Inception was written 5 years before Paprika came out. Do your research, douche bag!

  • @peteagassi

NO you retard, Chris Nolan was writing the story for 10 years! He wasn't like friggin James Cameron who wrote AVATAR 10 years ago and making the movie so outdated.

He was influenced by Paprika, Matrix, 13th floor, Nightmare on Elmstreet 3, Dark City and Blade Runner.

but the MAJOR influence he had was Clint Eastwood's UNFORGIVEN

  • @CharlzInCharge13 errr... how? and how is this any BETTER than Inception?

  • @CharlzInCharge13 WTF? it didn't!

I'm gonna have to say this again...

Inception was already on Chris Nolans mind for 10 years. he was inspired by Matrix, Paprika, 13th Floor and Dark City.

but the story was mostly based on Unforgiven. It is heavily influenced BY UNFORGIVEN!! and maybe also Dreamscape.

I doubt that Chris Nolan even watched that movie

  • *sigh* NO IT DIDN"T!!!!

  • i'm still having nightmares after all these yrs of this movie,a true cult classic hall of famer & it has norm peterson in it!!!!!!!

  • Is Inception ripping this off?

  • @tastyfreeze111 no not really inception is an action movie with a team of people that go into your dreams/mind and steal your ideas

  • @TheBullumHead it's a journey of Cobb.

He wants to get back to his children. to do it, he has to do one last job

  • @tastyfreeze111 nope

it's not it didn't even inspire chris nolan.

he was influenced by other movies

  • I wonder if Christopher Nolan got inspiration for this week's "Inception" from this movie.

  • I thought it was the Music Video and I said to myself "The video Dreamscape was in 1984?!? Dang that music video is OLD! " LOL

  • Could you upload the train love scene that was in the dream-connection scene?

    Thanks!

  • it's dream alex,come out and playeeay:)

  • Movies were just better back then. What happened??? Oh I know. Computer animation. It's the crutch that took the place of imagination.

  • @dogeymon83 true that man! there is no sense of auteurship with Avatard.

  • @ScreamBloodyGwar - Avatar is the same as tons of different computer animated films. Ya know why people love listening to the commentary on Star Wars movies from the 70's?? Because we love hearing all the amazing and brilliant ways they came up with the special effects we see in the film. What can commentary say about films today. Oh, we clicked a mouse and the computer got it working.

  • @ScreamBloodyGwar

"auteurship"? Um.. Assuming you mean authorship, I think there's plenty of critics that would disagree with you there. I didn't particularly enjoy the subtle political views being thrust upon me during Avatar, but despite my beef with its message the genius of it can't be denied.

  • @dogeymon83 Atleast Christopher Nolan is making blockbusters with little to no cgi.

  • @dogeymon83

I think you might be romanticizing some pseudo-nostalgia there-- Dreamscape was fun and all back in it's day- But for a movie that's heavily based on effects and has very little substance, Dreamscape is a mediocre movie. Don't get me wrong, it's a classic-- but let's be real here.

  • @AeonicDesigns

However, there were better movies now than the 80s

I will give you a list of a thousand movies that pwnd every 80s movies

  • @dogeymon83

No, movies were not better back then. How can people think that? Even considering it is crazy.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt you must be fucking 13 ... lmao

even the b movies were better than the 200 million dollar piles of marketed shit of today...

why the fuck do you think they remake every movie from back then.. hollywood sucks balls

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt

Rofl. Oh yeah, they sure were. It's my least favorite show on the planet, but have you ever watched Mystery Science Theater 3000?

I see right through you. You are a little kid who wants to be special and old school, so you say that old movies were better! XD

No, they're not, worse plots, worse acting, worse music, way worse image, should I go on? Worse effects, of course, retarded camera positions, crappy sound, boring conversations, longer than needed, stupid trailers,

  • @MagnusRulerHardt

    just the 80s

most 80s blockbusters are considered worst in history

    especially horror

Nightmare, Halloween and Friday were the worst movies I've seen!

i liked the first Halloween and Nightmare. Friday was TERRIBLE!

  • @juliusyeung0330

So then suddenly we are on the same page, and the 80s can't compete with modern movies in any way at all. No, I didn't care for the Godfather. It was long and really, really boring. It was so boring.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt

You don't like the godfather? :O

so you don't like Raging Bulls, goodfellas, departed, star wars, citizen kane and the man with no name triology?

  • @juliusyeung0330

No, the Godfather was one big bore. No opinion on the rest, except that I used to like Star Wars, but I wouldn't watch it again.

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt

... stupid cliches that have already been a thousand times in books, no scientific knowledge of what people want to see, once again: CRAPPY actors, retarded monsters, and that is about it.

While the new Inception, for example, is perfect. Perfect with no "But" at all, it couldn't possibly be better. Neither could Lord of the Rings or Pirates OTC.

This, this SUCKS. You are like those wannabe special people who say "MODERN GAMES SUCK! REAL GAMERS PLAY MARIO!"

    While in reality,

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt

... in reality, people who play Mario have NO LIFE. I am no modernist or Halo fanboy, but enough is enough. Don't exaggerate the wannabe-special feeling you are so desperate to achieve. (If you haven't already seen them:) You WILL love Inception, you WILL love LOTR, you WILL love POTC, Matrix, Sherlock, Shutter Island, you know, new, GOOD films.

My friend was like you. Then he went too far and said: "Pong is the best game ever, you noob!". That's when he realized he was a retard.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt

actually... you're half right and half wrong

    I LOVED past movies

GODFAHTER MOTHER FUCKER THAT MOVIE IS FUCKING GOLD TO INCEPTION AND DREAMSCAPE!!

    CORLEONE FUCKS EVERYONEPQ#R:QFJO:IAEHF

    ok.. need to calm down..

but if you say that the 80's were bad.. I agree in a way.

Yea you 80s fans! what movies were great back then?

I only know Amedues, Apocalypse Now and Plattoon! Also shining, Full metal and Nightmare on elmstreet.

    rest are crap cults!

  • @dogeymon83

Most retarded comment ever... So having advanced special effects and animation as opposed to rubber suits PROHIBITS showing imagination? Rofl... No, it requires MORE imagination to show modern special effects and animations. "Old phones were much better than cell phones."

It's not like that. Things evolve, and they always evolve to the better.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - Many film buffs agree that many of today's movies seem to come off a cookie cutter. The same styles of computer animation are used time and time again. When films have low budgets and pass off special effects well, THAT'S an accomplishment!

  • @dogeymon83

You can just continuing deceiving yourself like that to feel special. Deep inside you know you LOVE modern movies, especially Inception, because it was both visually awesome, the plot was awesome and the acting was awesome. It was all awesome. The music was awesome. Everything.

While here, there are people in rubber suits walking around trying to convince me that they're scary monsters.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - Dude, get a life. I have a preference about movies, that's all. This isn't a political discussion, ok? I don't think Inception is a cookie-cutter film. I haven't even seen it.

  • @dogeymon83

Political?! I mentioned politics?! Rofl! Excuse me (even though I never did).

You can't think shit of Inception before you've seen it. I am good at psychology, and I see right through you. You say you like old movies better because it makes you feel special. It's not something always know yourself, but you feel it deep inside, a modern super budget movie exceeds any old super budget movie by far. Why? Because it's new. New > Old, everything evolves to the better.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - Use your brain, little dude. You're ACTING like this is a political discussion. It's called an "expression". Seriously, do you really have nothing better to do than rant like a prick about a movie?

  • @dogeymon83

    Just accept that you failed.

And just accept that this movie sucks balls and that you only "like" it to be special.

With 3 monitors and a really good computer, I have loads of stuff to do at once ;) I can rant on this shit movie and your horrible taste while doing loads of other stuff, like writing books and composing music.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - Ouch, writing books and composing music! How exciting. I'm probably going to sit here all night being jealous of you. Hahaha.

I never said I liked this movie in the first place, you know. I said I liked movies from the 80's because many of them are classics that didn't require CG effects to be amazing looking.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - Hahahahaha! What the hell are you babbling about? Failed at what?? Having an opinion about movies?? Oh no! My opinion about movies is wrong?? Get a life, you prick.

  • @dogeymon83

On the political thing ;) This has nothing to do with politics, nor does it sound like a political conversation, nor is it a saying of any kind.

You also failed at having an opinion. I see right through you, you are a hypocrite who only likes what makes you feel special.

Yep, writing books and composing. Yeah, I know, pretty pathetic thing at being talented at, right? I know, all I can do is make music, I mean... I don't think being a composer pays well at all. Big time sarcasm.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - Well I'll keep a look out for your coloring book when it comes out in stores. I just hope it comes with watercolor and paint brushes attached.

My opinion is that CG is often a crutch to take viewers' minds off the fact that the writing is bullocks. Avatar was just another mindless subliminal anti-military film, with nothing original to say, coated with mindless formulaic CGI action. Here's another opinion. Learn how to speak coherently and increase your vocabulary.

  • @dogeymon83

Do you really need to send two comments when one doesn't have any arguments in it? This is what I mean, you can't come up with arguments. You just send comments like that last one.

But this first one was something, though. I never said I like Avatar. I hated Avatar. I loved Inception because it has both awesome looks (unlike this shitty ass movie), good acting, awesome story and music. It has everything, and Inception makes brains explode. This piece of crap is a piece of crap.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt by todays standards YES, BUT not in 1984

  • @MagnusRulerHardt - You're a condescending twat. And nobody takes twats seriously. Much like a duck, it's best to leave you to quack alone and continue to entertain yourself. : )

  • @dogeymon83

And you seem to have run out of arguments. In fact, it seems we agree pretty much as you have slowly changed your point of view. But just because I find the Godfather soooooooooo fuuuuckiiiing booooooooring doesn't give you a reason to get pissed, it just makes you a sadder person. What pisses ME off is hypocrites, like my friend who said that pong is the best game ever made (first game*).

  • @dogeymon83

do you only judge movies by their special effects???

AVATAR was good (overrated as hell but it's good) and it was all in CG

Matrix was AMAZING and it was in CG

Lord Of the Rigns was good in CG

and not ALL movies are in CG

The best movies have no special effects.

    DEPARTED? GODFATHER???

plus, Inception was mostly not in CG

  • @juliusyeung0330 - Of course not. I judge movies based no whether their interesting or not. Jurassic Park is an example of a movie sold almost strictly on special effects alone. Now that those special effects are not so amazing by today's standards, I'm noticing how bad the script was, as well as continuity errors.

Good writing is particularly what I judge movies on. But several of those movies are amazing to YOU. It's a personal preference.

  • @juliusyeung0330 - AVATAR was a barrage of special effects, and forgettable to me. I didn't care for watching a bunch of blue freaks flying around and bouncing off walls for 12 hours. The whole action formula has been done in multiple other movies. Same goes for Matrix and Lord of the Rings. Way too long, and nothing but special effects and formulaic fighting.

I think you missed my point entirely. I said special effects are often a crutch for creative writing. I love movies w/o CG too.

  • Trailer sucked, but I can totally see Chris Nolan loving this movie and making it his own with Inception.

  • so thats were christopher nolan got his idea for inception

  • Maybe Alex let out Freddy xD

  • This came out the same year as A Nightmare on Elm Street. Coincidence?

  • @anonymoussingerben : Dreamscape actually came out 3 or 4 months before Nightmare on Elm Street hit screens.

  • @finglonger07 so how does that inspire Nightmare? it doesn't at all

  • @anonymoussingerben yup

    this was better though

  • Tron meets Indiana Jones meets Stephen King meets Hollywood.
