Hemp is a part of U.S. history. The USS Constitution, aka 'Ol' Ironsides' contains tons of hemp. The sails, ropes, caulking, and even the sailor's clothing were hemp derived. This was true of all ships. The draft to the Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper. The original flag sewed by Betsy Ross was probably hemp.
Some towns even contain the word hemp b/c of this crops importance. For example, Hempstead, in Long Island, N.Y.
We need a new green economy here in the US and Hemp could be a big part of that economy! There are plastic products that are made from Hemp, that are biodegradable; Hemp is a win win situation for our NEW GREEN ECONOMY! (smile)
