mine did the same thing, and i left it all night long and it start working the next day. mine did this after that stupid update, before it whats working good.
The bottom unit works on the exact same power supply, so that's not it. I've read about the cap issue and that will be next if I decide to crack it open. I have a hard time justifying giving sling any more $ in order to make use of the 1 year warranty.

Change the power supply and/or capacitors inside Slingbox.
