  • Toyota quit F1 because of financial problems.. Now they're in Le Mans. What a comeback!

  • This car reminds gt one.

  • will lemans 2012 be bias towards diesels again, so even if this car is raced without fault for 24hours and a audi still wins, the rules are bab now only about 5 or 6 years ago you were allowed up to 4000cc with a turbo now its 2000cc

  • toyota gt-one 1999 Le mans race car is called TS020 this is next generation of gt-one NICE!

  • Ugly thing but sure sound amazing!!! Go toyota!!!

  • God Toyota have got some serious balls taking on the mighty Audi.

  • Nice sound! i will swap 2 of these for 4 silent Peugeot's anytime. But the LMP1 field at LM is looking a little leak this year.

  • is it just me or does the front look like it's got a lot of camber...?

  • Glad to hear that Toyota will run two cars in 24h Le Mans. Especially Davidson is one of the driver. He is my favourite driver in sportscar racing. He won 3 times and the pole positions in Imola, Petit Le Mans and Zhuhai was created by him. He is the BEST!! Hope he can race full season again in 2013.

  • fantastic V8 sound!

  • It sounds and looks beautiful. Keeps the spirit of the TS020 alive.

  • Great to see the runner up at Le Mans testing for their runner up performance in 2012. Go Audi!

  • @SGSUPERMAN105 be careful now superman, nothing is guaranteed; if you paid attention to lemans last year you saw that only ONE audi was ahead of 2 puegots... they still won. but toyota aint goin there to lose....

  • @Jexcee Toyota isnt a worry in my mind at all. They made a big hoopla when they came into Formula One but ended up not making any worth while results and pulled out of the sport because they werent getting anywhere. Toyota is good at spending money, not winning races.

  • @SGSUPERMAN105 okay, granted they spent thier way into and out of f1. but you need to remember that theyve had successes in sportscar racing too! they won the rolex 24 that includes the " sportscar" daytona prototype class. and they won at sebring before audi built the first R8. and we all know how many second places theyve

    had at lemans...

  • @SGSUPERMAN105 And they have a couple of ex-puegot factory drivers and rebellion racing with 2 non hybrid toyotas so its gonna be no cakewalk for audi.

  • Hope we can drive it at FM4^^

  • Great to hear a v8 at lemans this year. Toyota doesnt do things by half measures so this car should perform great. Im glad they kept a similar colour scheme to the TS020 of 99.

  • I will say one thing, I like the way this Toyota sounds. I don't know about you guys but racing to me is a combination of a few things, good old racing, car performance, new technologies and great SOUND!! I hate to see a quite car on the race track although I loved the Audi R18's quite engine I'm a fan of 8 - 12 cylinder sound

    .

  • I think this car might be able to run with "Electric Motor" in pit lane and when safty car deploy.

If it is ture, you can save huge amount of fuel, which must change the tactics of race drastically as much as imposible to win a race without it, and let Audi and Peugeot be hurry to develop hybrid system as well.

Also this system must be shifted to Formula 1 regulation in very very near future.

  • @ukks63 F1 already has KERS, which is basically similar system than the Toyota is carrying. The rules just make it a lot less significant. For whatever reason, F1 never adapted the "hybrid" word.

Btw, they don't have to worry about Peugeot anymore. They announced widthdrawal last week due to the economy.

  • I agree. Too bad Peugeot Pulled its Factory Teams out of the 2012 24 hrs of Le Mans though. As an Audi fan, I'll miss seeing the Rivalry. However, this car looks great and will be able to take the fight to Audi. As Alexander Wurz said the other day, "At the very least, we will make things difficult for Audi." Even if this Hybrid only runs one lap further per stint, that is still a huge advantage.

  • #The driver is so happy he could die!

  • Bugatti Killer!

  • @daryllemuelsamuel

Err of course it is.... This is an LMP

  • go toyota

  • @igottaafc, thank you for your intelligent response unlike majority of the idiots present on youtube. there will be no issues what so ever with the chassis and aerodynamics on this car in terms of being inferior to the lmp1 competition. what i was trying to point out is that other gas lmp1's like aston martin who used 6.0L normally aspirated v-12s still could not keep pace with a 3.7L turbo diesel. even with more fuel, a much larger displacement, and lighter weight that aston couldnt do it, toy

  • @sreddy117 The situation is much more complicated than just displacements. All of the engines are air restricted and turbo engines are also boost restricted. A lot depends on those things. Also, the 6L V12 was never built for a LMP (it was the same one used in the GT1 car), the chassis was clearly inferior and in 2011 it was "a grandfathered car" (new engine regulations came in 2011 and in 2010 the diesels were 5.5L).

  • Great Car,great Course !

  • lush ,well done toyota

  • Good Car but Hybrid Sucks

  • @aTze1Mirco Excuse me Sir!, but this is not true!

  • Comment removed

  • @FastLead Its my opinion!!! It is better than Diesel but nothing goes over a pure petrol engine (sry for bad english)

  • @aTze1Mirco

I dont think you know what ''Hybrid'' really is. You are just bitching about it because you think its some kind of save the world thing that the Priuses are using.

  • @Ornqiraj believe me i know what a Hybrid is 10 years of mechanical experience should be enough ;| (and again its my opinion you should accept it)

  • looks good sounds good and feels fast but lets not lie to ourselves, audi will still stomp this thing to the ground. hybrid/gasoline does not stand a chance against diesel power and years of endurance racing experience.

  • @sreddy117 just remember that the same team (TMG Cologne Germany) that engineered the TF F1 cars built this beast so they know what they are doing. Although Audi has a powerful car and they indeed have a hybrid system for this year, it is going to be interesting to see if Toyota's hybrid system can give the advantage as far as power and fuel mileage are concerned. The TDIs have great MPG but are restricted with smaller tanks. + Toyota is using V8 from Super GT. Maybe engine change for future

  • @igottafc The V8 is actually completely new and not the F.Nippon/SuperGT engine, according to Toyota.

  • I hope Toyota kicks Audi's arse. They were just unlucky in 1999 when Mercedes built those airplanes that took up and ended up in the woods trying to keep up with the Toyotas. If they happen to do it in their first attempt with the new car, well then that's going to be an embarrassment for Audi. Their web site is toyotahybridracing

  • Ohhhhhhhhhh man nearly spun out at start.

  • It does'nt sound half as good as it looks...What a shame

  • @inintube

    レースから完全撤退なんですね!教えていただきありがとうです。

  • I own a Toyota and I hate it, but I would love to see them kick Audi's ass...

  • cant wait to see

  • the ACO should make it mandatory to sound like this. I'm tired of silence when the Audi and Peugeot go by!!!

  • @scarffi15 well now its just silence from audi Peugeot pulled out and this is its repacement

  • @michael142833 I knew they were pulling out but I thought it was after 2012. Hopefully Toyota wins so we can get some more interest from big manufacturers

  • Toyota is getting a lot of support for taking on Audi and I am one of them!

  • great to see Toyota racing colors again!!!!

  • best sound for me :35 - :50

  • Wow, sounds great...

  • the engine sound is music !!!

  • Love this car a lot!!!

In their new official website (toyotahybridteam) i found that Andrea Caldarelli also confirmed as their driver (probably for the second car).

And now I hear that Buemi will also join them for the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Toyota surely try to give a fight for the Audi. After the demise of Peugeot.

  • wow!

  • sounds like a 3,5l V8

  • @ghalloikbenhet

actually that is 3.4 litre V8 (which is maximum allowed capacity for naturally aspirated petrol engines under Le Mans rules.)

  • Awesome sounding machine and scampers about brilliantly. My vote for 2012 Le Mans definitely goes on this TS030.
