  • Awesome

  • i love how Young just goes nuts

Love Live Neil Young and Led Zeppelin

    RIP Bonzo

  • I'm glad Page let them jam and just kept the perfect groove in the back. Page has nothing to prove..he's already conquered everything guitar-wise.

  • Pure GODS OF LIFE ROCK AND INTEGRITY>>>>WISH IT WERE SO WITH TODAYS CORPORATE THROW_UP

  • Neil rocks so hard!!

  • MUY BUENO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MUY BUENO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spoiler Alert: Neil Young/Robert Plant guitar showdown ends in a draw.

  • WTF! Page has got some CHOPS!

  • My fukn heros!!

  • Neil Young and Led Zeppeling my two favorites....amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • British bands had a major hay day in America during the 60's and 70's.Thank you UK:)

  • I love the motif Neil breaks into around 2:54 which he repeats various times. Very simple, but great to listen to.

  • There are enough Les Pauls on that stage to gag a yak. Love it. = )

  • justin beiber disliked this

  • Whoever that one person was that disliked this should be taken out by a CIA drone.

  • 5:15.. Theyr having so much fun :D

    EPICNESS

  • That's great. Pure energy, pure rock.

  • Michael Lee...you where so awesome =(

  • Got to love Neil's very spastic style of body movement when playing. This version sounds better then the actual one they played at the show.

  • This is beyond great!

I've been listening to Link Wray lately and it's stunning how much Neil and Jimmy were influenced by him.

  • the best

  • This is what you call "bad in a good way"... this is far away from the best version of this song (they are unrehearsed!), but man, they really ROCK here.

  • how the fuck can u dislike this

  • i like neil but he kooked it hard here

  • Robert Plant plays the guitar??? Woaaahh!!!! MINDBLOWN!!!

  • Holy shit this rocks!!!! Cant believe this!!

  • Where is this video from and is there more. This is great. Thanks for posting

  • Is that JPJ???

  • for your holiday pleasure

  • i only know what i like, and I love Neil the way NY plays guitar

  • Comment removed

  • @pan3405 id respond to your comment...but you dont even speak english...so what the fuck do you know...next time use spell check

  • The Muppit Show!!!! Rediculous old fashion!!!

  • so that's why they call neil young bernard shakey

  • I don't think people who don't know anything about guitar playing saying that Neil Young can't play makes him underrated. It just means a lot of unqualified people talk about his guitar playing. There's plenty of tape and video that speaks for itself.

  • When The Levee Breaks

  • Terrible!

  • @LauryWard go listen to justin bieber why don't you?

  • what year was this?

    they still looked pretty good

  • Poor Neil Young: he takes himself so seriously.

  • old post but kicks ass

  • I love how they just go apeshit toward the end, it's like they forget they're playing for an audience and just Jam together like they would in a Garage at the side of a house. it's awesome raw stuff, playing for each other

  • When was this made?

  • neil young plays the guitar like a gorilla on steroids. he plays one note giutar solos; but man can he play that note.....

  • that was fun, stomping tune well suited for Shakey.

  • Young & Zeppelin.....O MY GOD... this is making the hairs on the back of my neck stand to attention. is this on CD, i so wanna hear this properly.

  • Eh. The addition of "For What It's Worth" lyrics into the song is just stupid; that is for all intents and purposes Stephen Stills' work, Neil contributed the two-note harmonic loop to that song, that's it. He's never played it without Stills.

Also, Plant on guitar is laughable in this song. He contributes nothing in that department.

  • @Veggies73 they used to include For What It's Worth in their concerts

  • Zeppelin's desire to play their hits differently than they were recorded annoys me almost as much as Neil Young playing electric guitar.

  • @BrianMorrison71 This version actually was recorded.....but by Page and Plant for their 1994 album "No Quarter-Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Unledded" but never made it on the LP. It was released as a non LP bonus track on the CD5 single for Wonderful One.

  • @Seven539 I also find it weird that would choose this version to play billed as LZ....seeing how they excluded JPJ on No Quarter....

  • @BrianMorrison71 Creativity is a bitch eh? Go listen to the album if you want the boxed version.

The rest of us will enjoy this awesome fusion.

  • @BrianMorrison71 Zeppelin are not anyones puppets . they played waht they wanted , and if someone didnt like , it tough shit .Great musicians should not be forced to play the hits like freaking robots . Improv you see

  • Neil Young having a laugh here.No more than that .Zep were great in their time .Form is temporary class is permanent.

    regards

    jimmy

  • Neil Young is Canada's greatest son.

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing. I am HUGE fan of both LZ and NY. This video is a keeper; God, to see them on stage together!! Thanks dude.

  • Jeez, I didn't realize this was "Levee" until about halfway through. Awesomeness.

  • Another peice of YouTube gold :-)

  • This is like chocolate with chili-pepper -- it shouldn't work but it does.

  • Jimmy Page is so fuckin cool for not showing Mr. young up, pure respect. So proud to have neil come from my hometown of Winnipeg, MB. CANDADA

  • @twiztedreverb

I agree, but Neil is a Rock God in his craft.

  • Sorry Plant. Stick with singing lol

  • Too...much...awesome...must...not...lose...consciousness...from...all...the...awe...

  • The coolest thing about this video is Plant picking up the guitar. You never see that, brother.

  • neil young, canadian badass.

  • neil youg, canadian badass.

  • THIS IS UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME!!!!

Haha it's like some kind of time-warp though! Plant looks so old and Neil looks young with his Buffalo-era sideburns.

  • com eon JIMMY let loose

  • Oh, das ist ja hammermässig..... ich bin überrascht!

  • Long Live Neil....Forever Young...He rocks

  • Never new this, Niel and Led...

    Very strong.

  • Wow, I shook neil Young's hand in 2002, and he jammed with Robert Plant. Robert Plant is the coolest.

  • @AwesomeBeatles No. NEIL YOUNG is the coolest, my friend.

  • When the leevee breaks! Who else but Neil could get Robert play electric on stage? Love the way Plant gets Neil to segue into For Waht's it's worth. Don't you?

  • This is why people love les pauls.

  • awesome

  • I had to laugh Naturalist....my head would have also exploded. My two favorites together...way too much to handle. This is fantastic.

  • 199% Agreed I Would Have Been In Shock & Awe lol :) Neil & Zeppelin .... Thats Like The Websters Dictionary Deffinition Of Epic!

  • i agree. hah. its an overload. hah

  • Neil Young and Led Zeppelin are about all I listen to. If I had been here... my fucking head would have exploded. It would have been too much awesome. I don't think I could have taken it.

  • The sound quality of this vid is much better than the other two that have been posted.

  • Zep knew that this night really belonged to Neil Young.

  • ...Thinking about the ridiculous amount of money I would be willing to pay to see LZ and NY on stage together... Pure musical nirvana. Thanks for posting.

  • i dont think neil realized how much jimmy page appreciated him. but jimmy sure made that known. what a guy

  • After doing a little research, I have found out that you are totally correct. Well done! You have taught me a lot, and I am a lot wiser now. Learning more in the future from here will be fun. Thanks a lot, and all the best! x

  • I've seen pictures of Neil Young. He's much younger than that guy. And Neil Young wasn't in Led Zeppelin -- so there! Get out of that one!

  • I think they both copied Slash from Motley Crue. They are like watered down version of him. Perhaps he should have been there but he couldn't make it. Their guitars look a it like Slash's one -- one of those Telecaster things.

John Paul Jones may be third best, but that guy in the red there is a terrible bassist. He's playing the wrong notes! He's probably their manager. It takes more than having long hair and playing the bass badly to be a good song-writer. That guy's got no chance!

  • I'm serious. The guy with the black hair looks like he wants to be that guitarist in Aerosmith. He's a copist. I don't think much of that bassist either. He'd never make it with a proper band, that's for sure! He probably was just helping out because they didn't have anyone.

  • Jesus effing H. Christ: This is either the funniest and/or most ignorant comment I have ever read... You didn't realize that's actually Joe Perry dressed up to look like Jimmy Page? Do you think that's really Robert Plant singing and playing guitar on stage? C'mon, everyone knows it's David Coverdale. Please get your facts straight before you post misleading information ;-p

  • Thanks for the appreciation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SqwishTV did you type that with a dick in your mouth?

  • That was a guitar party for those guys. I had no idea Plant could pull something like that off. Excellent!!!

  • like what? he didn't do shit

  • @scbryan420 Obviously your judging Plant by his guitar playing.. What an idiot.. I'm talking about standing on stage with 2 of the greatest and most creative guitar players on this planet as a lead singer and front man, to have the balls to even strap a guitar on in there presence shows a great amount of balls and confidence.. how about learning a little something about rock and roll history before you open your ass and fart again.

  • nwmtman i agree with you. It was awesome to see plant strap on a guitar and jam with these two great god like beings. (Plants voice is god like too.)

  • Don't know who the blond guy is but he's a great guitarist. Didn't think much of the other two tho.

  • put the les paul doon bob but!!

  • that must have felt amazing with the three of them together again

  • Tippertex

First of all, Neil Young is a amazing guitar player.

He's a master of improvisation and he show this

    in that video.

Second of all, you should never have heard nothing from Neil Young to talk about such a thing.

  • that was the most awsome led zep or neil young thing i ever seen

  • thanks for the post ! roberto plays a mean lead !

  • 3 les pauls.....somehow it reminds me of the 3 musqueteers

  • heavy sound ! three paula's awesome ^^

  • Neil young is extremely underrated as a guitar player, he can pull a guitar solo out of anywhere unrehearsed

  • neil young is a brilliant guitarist, it's good to see him have fun with page and plant

  • @008maguire Well there are a lot of guitarists who are familiar with the concept of improvising. What makes Neil great is not that he solos, but his reckless, harsh and energetic approach to soloing.

  • Page is a real gentleman, I can't believe he didn't burst out laughing as Plant and Young tried to play lead. I mean, Jimmy Page is hammering out an A chord while Plant and Young trade off guitar leads. That is really funny to watch.

  • ? I don't think page could of topped that!

  • thier is only one word genious

neil is a very extradanry adddition

  • Power rock'n'roll. Keep it simple and improvise! That's the shit!

Glad I discovered this. It's a fucking Gem!

Solo by Neil Young - Shit Hot!

  • adamhills ,You got that right ! this was great to see , Thanks for posting styxhula

  • i love the led zeppelin version more obviously but you can sort of tell neil is doing it his way.

  • Five of my favourite musicians in the world on one stage performing one of my favourite songs....... What could go wrong?????? Yet, somehow, something does....... Sorry, but this is pretty dull IMO neg me if you wish :)

  • They're like like kids...look at 'em up there having fun like Christmas kids.

  • Robert Plant in interviews is always refering to Neil Young. A lot of musicians you'd never expect adore him.

  • woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa le delire

    Neil et Jimmy

  • all last night sat on the levy an monDD!!

  • Eargasmic.

  • OH MY GOD IT'S LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE

the greatest band of all time with the greatest solo artist of all time.... ON THE SAME STAGE

i think i'm having a seizure... no wait that's just a musical orgasm

  • Holy caic! It's not quite the same when they're old and without Bonham. Still class, but not their peak, obviously...

Thanks for postin it, love it!

  • Page and Young are playing the fuck outa their guitars.

  • oh baby,,,,yummy

  • GO NEIL!

  • unbelievable clip. Thanks for posting! It amazes me the stuff that is out there, and the quality.

  • interesting seeing plant playing guitar...

  • Yes,my thought too,he is so gorgeous.

  • but why, i mean there's already 2 of the worlds most awesome guitarists on the stage! i think robert should focus on what's he's really good at, vocals.

i mean he IS the greatest rock singer of all time

  • unless Page got his hair dyed this is way before the Led Zep reunion !

  • what day this happened?

    reunion???

  • I always thought Plant was a guitarist for Led Zep. I just won a bet with this. Who do you think played studio guitar on "Black Dog"? Plant, baby! ;)

  • Robert Plant did not play guitar on Black Dog. he's not really playing on this video either.

  • why would Robert Plant play the guitar in Led Zeppelin

  • I AGREE W/MEEZOCOOL. WHY?WHY?WHY?

  • wrong.

  • He did man! Neil Youngs rockin out! Robert Plant doin lead! Oh my god!!! Ace vid!

  • fuckin amazzin! Page let Young have a lot of fun! BEAUTIFUL!

  • Thanks for great music.Happier New Years!!!!!

  • This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Plant and Young soloing but not Page! This is rare.

  • Although he's one of my countryman and my favourite guitarists ever, I have to say, Neil Young own Jimmy Page

  • Led Zeppelin is the greatest BAND of all time, without a doubt. Can't call ONE BAND that has give more to rock'n'roll than Zep has. But when it comes to songwriters and rock-music cornerstones, Neil is absolutely the king

  • greatest truth to ever be spoken

  • This has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen ever!

  • lord that was quite possibly the coolest thing ive ever seen..

  • if you ask me, the riff is better on the bass

  • well thier so underated today world zeplin i mean theybwere the best and hardist man they wood play stairway ever 5 min so reqested and jimmy page can't remeber half of them thier just master pieces and love niel young to cortez winterlong cow girl in the sand well all thier stuff just great thanks and plant man awsome and at oldy to supper at them thanks see ya

  • When the Levee Breaks !

  • Robert on Guitar???????? This is the weirdest video i have ever seen.....Very Cool!!

    Great song!

  • yep I think that was Plant's homage to Neil...playin a Les Paul

  • This is the coolest thing i have ever come accross...Robert on guitar...Great hommage to Neil..They all look so awesome..Thanks for your prompt reply..lol..going in my faves...:-)))

  • Funny video this... Roberts singing is great... Always wished Jimmy had played a solo on it.. Wonder why he didn't.

  • Because it's neil's night, not his.

  • It's a Led Zeppelin song. And I know it was an old blues song. Robert played a solo Neil plays solos and Jimmy doesn't. Just would have thought all 3 would have done one!

  • The guitar tech dropped Page's guitar and fucked it up before he gave it to him, that's basically why he doesn't really play a solo.

  • I didn't know that info but I did see an interview with Plant years ago, before this, where he states that right before they played Live Aid, the guitar tech dropped Jimmy's guitar and knocked it out of tune. And if you have heard the Live Aid performance, it's quite obvious Jimmy's guitar is out of tune.

  • I'm sure Jimmy was big enough to retune his own guitar, did he realize it was out of tune?!?! No problems like that with Niel.

  • I agree, although my comment was a response to smoke117 but for some reason it didn't post under his comment on page 2.

Like I said though, it was at Live Aid when Jimmy's guitar was way out of tune(watch the Live Aid vid to see what I mean), not here that I am aware of. Then if you watch the Live Aid post interview you will see that Jimmy is so wasted he wouldn't even know if he was out of tune or not. I think on this jam he tries to solo @ the 2:56 mark but Neil won't relinquish his solo.

  • He started to solo but just stopped and laughed

    He's really fuckin wasted :D

  • Last I heard Led Zeppelin was being inducted and since their the third largest band (and IMO the best one) to be intucted to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame so I think it was THEIR night.

  • Uh...Neil Young is one of the five greatest songwriter/lyricist ever. The only single musician with more clout would be Bob Dylan.

  • Of course he's great but and although I agree with you although not as much so, that is our OPINOIN it is a fact Led Zeppelin is the third largest band of all time and the main attraction of that night.

  • All I know is my three favorite artists were inducted that night, LZ, Neil, and the ABB. So all three are at the top for me. That is my fact.

  • It's a FACT the Zep is the 3rd largest band? It's a fact that The Who are #1. WHO WHO WHO

  • I think you misunderstood while I think Zeppelin is the greatest that is not a fact how big they are is, and The Who is not #1 The Beatles are, followed by Elvis Presley. But The Who are one of my favorte bands I'm not saying there bad.

  • I think you misunderstood - The Who are #1 period. The best band ever to pick up instruments. Zeppelin is maybe 4th or 5th at best. Michael Jackson is bigger. GO JACKO!!

  • Second that, Neil's works open a whole other level of awareness of the world around us, past and present, and everything he did from his days in Buffalo Springfeild up to Crazy Horse. He is also one of the best guirtarists in the world (his inovation and smarts with his gear unlike any other) obviously Page is to, but Neil is a singer, songwriter, guitar all in one, nobody else could compare with him. Mabey Kurt Cobain? but he's dead, wasn't as good, and mabey accomplished 1/10 of what Neil has.

  • @Chewy2284

Dude, Nirvana were ok, but even Cobain admitted Nirvana were credited with pretty much inventing a sound that NY had come up with nearly 2 decades earlier, and at his own admission again, Nirvana would not have existed without precedence NY set. He even quoted him in his suicide note! I know you say he wasn't as good....but come on, to even compare the two is a bit of a stretch!

  • @Chewy2284

I would never get in a 'who's the best guitarist/songwriter/whatever ever' discussion ever...it's impossible to judge something so subjective with so many styles, sounds etc. But I think, even if Cobain was alive today, and this will probably get me hate-mail, but he would not have been a patch on NY's diversity, productivity, creativity, ingenuity or anything for that matter.
