Those who say a healthy Asafa Powell is better than Tyson Gay from 2008 onwards are stupid. American trails in 08 Tyson ran 9.77 depiste easing up at the end ,he ran 9.77 in 09 in rome beating Powell. I swear he only lost ones or twice to Powell in 2009/2010 for the rest Tyson was winning botth years maybe over 10 races. Tyaon runs 9.69 in 2009 in shanghai despite having a nightmare start and beats powell. Come on people that don't think Tyson is deservedly is 2nd fastest in history

@shadow1985ism In some ways, he may feel worse than Tyson. Powell is Mr. Sub 10 sec, held the WR, runs really fast, and pre bolt, didn't take down big medals. Tyson Gay before Beijing was the man to beat and sometimes, at least runs really fast times to at least be somewhat close to Bolt. Remember Tyson was injured for Beijing. But yeah, Powell is good for the relay, but yeah, not a huge achiever.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Asafa is his own worst enemy. Hats off to Tyson for that courageous effort but if Asafa wanted to win as bad as Tyson Gay did, I think he would given Bolt I run for the money. Sounds crazy but if analyse the race carefully, especially the side view, both Gay and Powell are stride for stride until Bolt began to pull away. As Bolt pulled away you can actually see Gay pump his arms and legs quicker to keep up with Bolt, Powell didn't.

I agree a hundred percent but i think with every thing thats happened over the past few month (injuries and bad form) Asafa was simply concerned about getting - what colour it was was a different story.

U could see this he neared the line he looked back to make sure his bronze as safe. He just assumed that Tyson and Usain were gonna leave him.

But hats off to him for staying relaxed, but honestly 9.84 is not impressive for Asafa.
