@MangoSmoothie16 My car was a test fit for the new RLM front bumper, my sponsor paid for it and as a result of such testing (steep driveways, etc) we modified it! BUT, my driveway is still steep and any car will scrape if you hit it at the wrong angle!
I'm a hardcore Nissan enthusiast, I have a Altima 3.5 SE V6 with Automanual and I was wondering what turbo you put in that thing? Your Maxima looks badass I like it. All I have is a Magnaflow exhaust and a cold air intake, I took it to the track and it did a surprising 5.9 secs 0-60 (14.1 sec 1/4 mile at 98mph). I def need more low end torque though.
@maciasx010x I did my lowering springs myself and when I switched over to Coilovers I took it to a friend that owns a garage and he helped me do it. The car has 5" clearence up front
nice man!!, whats the worse that has ever happened to the bumper? i dont believe you if you say nothin rather then a silly scrape has happened to it lol
sick car man, gonna take me a long ass time to get mine to look half as decent as yours :)
Worse that has happened was bad scraping and chipping on the bottom when the clearance was 4 inches. I have since shaved the front bumper 1 inch and when I installed my D2 coilovers I adjusted the suspension so that the front now has 5-1/2" of clearance. No problems ever since!!!
Hey chern, i got a very important question for you.....where in the world can i get that front bumper? To tell you the truth i think its hot and i've been searching everywhere for it. I know its called the redline max front bumper but every search i have leave me with nothing. If you could let me know where to get one or maybe how much it is thank man
Sorry yes, later model 04's came with VDC, I purchased mine in Aug of 2003, so mine did not come with it. Actually since I race my maxima It's recommended VDC be turned off...
wats the name of ur rims? i already asked u in the other video but i wanna kno the name to these too and hopeflly u already answered the question i had from the other vid
wat size r ur new racing rims and du u have a vid with them? r they lighter then stock rims? and r the rims u have in this vid 4 racing too? or they are just reagular heavy rims lol?
Yeah bro, click on my user name "Chernmax" and check out my other VIDs with my new custom Turbo, my new rims are lightweight, black 5 star and only weigh 19.5 pounds each. OEM are about 25-28lbs
BF Goodrich G-Force KDW-II Ultra high performance tires. 255/45 ZR 18-99Y, rated for 200mph. I stayed with bigger side walls to offset my racing suspension's harder ride which including D2 Coilovers, modifed F/R anti-sway bars, STILLEN front upper tower brace, F/R Racingline endlinks. These tires stick like rails to the pavement (not very good in snow though) but I also have an SUV!!!
Maybe but I have all new rims and tires now. The real point of the VID was to show how low the new front bumper was in relationship to my steep driveway and LOL watch how the rear wheel lifts off the ground.
On glide path...over landing threshold, cleared to land. I don't know how many times I've hit wrong angels on unusual slopes. :-( Then the cussin' starts! :-) Nice!
Yes, at first with an Eibach Pro street lowering kit, I'm now running on D2 Coilovers but I had my front bumper shaved over 1" so my front clearance is about 5"
So to answer your question, I'm 2" lower up front and 1" lower in the rear verse stock...
hey chern, did you lower it at all or is that JUST from the Redlinemax front bumper you've got on it? I was thinking about getting that kit, but I have to drive it in winter so if it is that low just from the kit there is no way I am plowing through the snow with that bad boy on it :( Thanks man, btw if you havent seen my plastering of your car on my cardomain page, I hope its cool with you. Take it easy.
No I was lowered on Eibach for this VID so I had 4" of clearance up front, without a drop it would be 6 inches. I have since installed D2 coilovers, and shave the redlinemax bumper an inch so my new front clearance is now 5-1/2" I hear you on the snow, my concern also but if it does get to bad I have an SUV. Check out my cardomain page, I have lots of updated pics with the new paint and Turbo...
Chern, the wife asked me when I was about to get a convertible Z "where does the car seat go?". We walked over the maximas. My heart was broken until I drove the maxima. This makes my third. I had a 1st gen, 5th and now the 6th.
why have it so damn low?

how bad of scrape? lol
camvvti 3 years ago
Nothing that required body work or paint and most of the scrapping was underneath the bumper so not really visible.

Look Out for the Pot holes, I bent the left lower control arm on my Maxima the other day after hitting a deep pot hole.
chris507npowell 3 years ago
With coilovers I'm always watching for pot holes and thats why I maintain my stock tire size. Coilovers and low profile tires = crunch central!!!
