  • it's look like sung by 400lbs Italiano fat man.

  • I thought Happy Birthday is the most sung song in the world

  • sorry to burst your bubble but Happy Birthday is the most sung song in the world:L it's sang everyday whereas Auld Lang Syne is sang only around the times of New Year, just saying .... (:

  • @dr5x Besides which, most people don't know the full and actual lyrics to Auld Lang Syne . . . . because its in Scots. And who the hell knows Scots other than the Scottish?

  • @wintereis57 Actually the original version is debatable and its not known whether the Irish Brittons Gauls welsh or Scotts devised it. It was known that it was devised in the north leaving the Gauls and Brittons out of it. it is otherwise known as a celtic song and is sung in a Celtic tongue which does have different dialects

  • @irishforever16 Really? This is my understanding: "Auld Lang Syne" is a Scots poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional folk song (which might be of debatable origin). So the words, in my understanding, have a definite, known source. Is there something that I am misunderstanding?

  • Happy Birthday is song everyday..cmon now

  • Is that Kenneth McKellar?

  • @TheEriskay This is definitely Kenneth McKellar.

  • sorry, but I'm sad to say that this title has probably been taken by stupid pop songs like baby.

  • I would say Happy Birthday is difficult to contest. How many times have you sung happy birthday in your life time? How many times have you sung Auld lang syne? For me there's no contest Happy Birthday wins hands down. I don't think this is particularly unusual. Even in many other cultures & languages. Only thing which may compete's perhaps the Chinese anthem or a religious song (the lords prayer perhaps but that's sung in many ways, the Muslim call to prayer may be another candidate if counted).

  • if you watch the motion picture "Le Gendarme A New York" with Luis de Funes @ the end the policeman sing "Auld Lang Syne " in many languages .

  • and its scottish!

  • I'd say this is the best sung version of this song that i've ever heard.

  • Link isn't working but, in any case, I can't help feeling that the "Most sung song in the world" is more likely to be Happy Birthday to You.

  • happy birthday is the most sung in english but auld lang syne is the most sung in all languges

  • @markusgl1

So you say. But, of course, I say differently. I have heard Happy Birthday To You in many languages and so, until evidenced to the contrary, I would still say it, not Auld Lang Syne, is the most song in the world.

  • ok if you say so, not going to get into a row over it, got more important things to talk about

  • Happy Birthday To You, by Patti and Mildred Hill.

Copyright 1935. Most frequently sung song according to 'Guinness Book of World Records'. It was written in 1893. It earns over {$1.2} million dollars a year.

  • But you must also take into account the 100 years extra Auld lang syne has had of singing.

  • i ve never heard it in spanish in my country. I cannot agree .......there is a spanish version of happy birthday too ;)

  • @markusgl1 happy birthday is not the most sung in english but the most sung in all languages!! ok?! the auld lang syne and happy birthday song both can be hear in english, malay, chinese, and tamil version if u come to my place here, malaysia.. :D

  • Very Good! Thank you for this
