I liked your first version, and I like this version as well. =)

For triplets... Tripling the speed for the triplet section is the usual method, but that'd up it to almost 2000... If there are no 16th notes in the triplet section, you could get away with tripling the speed you had in your version with only 8th notes, that might still be manageable speedwise and bring on the accuracy you want.
