I have distant ties with Rangers as a family member played for the club a very long time ago and was capped for Scotland twice. I never met him. I found an old letter sent by him to my uncle when he was a boy years ago offering programs and such for the big games up North. Years ago I read an article about Tommy Burns in the paper, he was managing Celtic then. I didn't know anything about him. He seemed such a nice man from what I read. Im sorry for his family. I have been a Rangers fan all my life but i forgot all about football for a day when i heard Tommy Burns had died. He was a remarkable figure within Scottish football and it was a great sight to see McCoist and Smith as pallbearers at his funeral. Hopefully Tommy's death can bring an end to the bigotry in Glasgow, if this happens, not only will Tommy have achieved so much during his life but also in his death.
