The teaching profession today is a joke. It is a bunch of people that have no real skills and graduate college but still want summers off. They get paid twice as much in pay and benefits as the average people who pay their salaries. The fact is, Ive learned more reading on my own than I ever did in school. Face it, you get paid to read things that smart, original people already wrote. The kids get dumber every year, public school teeachers are failures.

I'm a vet. and I went to the VA.there services are terrible.that is what the pres.wants.you go one day wait 4 or five hours to see a doctor,the they tell you to back another day.The first visit is just to set up a appointment to seat and wait .I have bad back .Had to wait 6 months for surgery date,was in chronic pain all the time I was waiting. This is the heath-care you want.The Idea is good,but If you have a job and work ,you boss won't put up with all of the days off. You get fired.

It's hard to keep people coming back if you haven't treated them right. After my first 6 months selling cars I didn't even have to wait for an "up" anymore. I worked mostly referrals. I wasn't popular with the old school guys though. Many of them had those issues and that's why they never got referrals.

@silverspirit2001 That's like saying "all blacks are rapists" or "all priests are molesters." The best salesmen get to where they are because they develop a clientele that keeps coming back. It's hard to keep people coming back if you haven't treated them right. After my first 6 months selling cars I didn't even have to wait for an "up" anymore. I worked mostly referrals. I wasn't popular with the old school guys though. Many of them had those issues and that's why they never got referrals.

@teejate As a Marine Vet myself and a former Union Organizer I can tell you there's a huge difference between what meager bens. that Marine may have EARNED, and those obscene compensation packages unions demand, regardless of their productivity. Unlike today's unionist - Marines do not "strike" to the detriment of their Nation when they feel they have been slighted. They've never deserted their posts in protest. And they'd never favor robbing the tax-payers to feather their own beds!

@DesertPaladin Think you're missing a couple of points here. When a union strikes it's not against the taxpayer. You're not on the hook for anything. They strike against a corporation or company. Huge difference.
And in terms of the military 'earning' their benefits you are absolutely correct. They do and are entitled to them. But so are cops...and firefighters...and nurses...and teachers...and truck drivers.
Maybe you like to kiss the hand that beats you. Some don't.

The vid involves Public Employee Union Thugs who ARE striking against their ultimate "Employer" - The Public. #2 - Even when they do strike against a Corp., the Consumer still ends up paying the price for it. #3 - Whether Teachers, Cops, Firefighters, or Plumbers most Union Workers do not work as hard, or produce the quality product that non-Union Workers do, and add insult to injury by demanding more $ for it. America's jobs are leaving thanks to Unions.

2.) The consumer does not end up paying for it. If a company is shut down due to a strike it doesn't drive up the price of that product or service.
3.) Am I to believe that you are in favor of privatizing the police and fire departments and staffing them with non-union employees getting paid significantly less? REALLY? Might want to think that one through a bit.
4.) Jobs aren't leaving because of unions.

@teejate continued - Jobs are leaving because of corporate greed. We receive a lesser quality product while the corporations increase their bottom line. Period.
But here's what I don't get. There seems to be a total lack of understanding by those who parrot this anti-union stuff about not only the history of unions, and why they exist, but how YOUR salary, (if you work for a company) is DIRECTLY impacted by the presence of unions. If you'd prefer to work more for less that's fine.

@teejate Your circumstances may be different than mine. I am no longer a member of a union but when I was I was ensured of my salary and proper working conditions. Granted, I was an actor and member of SAG, but I know how non-union actors are treated and the money they earn. Why is it wrong to want all American workers to be paid well? When has it become "American" to be happy with scrambling for the crumbs we're thrown?

i work in a unionized company and i really think unions should not exist. if you work hard you wouldnt need job protection. the senior (in union) u get the lazier fatter and arrogant you get. all the 15 year seniors act as if they own the company or something.

@tubiejonny.. see the thing is with universal healthcare you dont have the right to choose when and where you want a precedure done.. one of my buddies that lives in canada tore his acl and had to be on a waiting list for 7 months to get the prcedure done.. In our "3rd world country" we have the choice to get it done when and where we want to and not have to wait on a stupid waiting list... The people that work and have health insurance dont have to mooch off the government ass hole
