Take a second and realized this album dropped almost 10 years ago, take another second and realize just how influential Thrice was in the post-hardcore/metalcore genre. I can easily name 50 "major" (modern popular -core) bands that have influences of Thrice in them. This song is a shining example but if you really want to see how huge this bands influence was check out the album that came out before this one, The Illusion of Safety. It's like a guide on how to make great post-hardcore music

Illusion of Safety was more of a punk album for them... a little bit of heavy, Artist in the Ambulance had the most double bass I would say and the heaviest of albums.... and Vhissu is kinda a mix between Artist in the Ambulance and their Alchemy Index albums... so the changing point was after Vhissu... (all albums are in order of release first to last) and Beggars being their newest.

@rockbandfan101 Most of this record (The Artist In The Ambulance) is pretty fucking heavy, see Silhouette, The Abolition Of Man, Under A Killing Moon, and Cold Cash And Colder Hearts, but this is the hardest song on it. Their other scream laden songs not on TAITA would be That Hideous Strength, Eclipse, Hold Fast Hope, The Earth Will Shake, The Flame Deluge, A Subtle Dagger (basically half the songs off The Illusion Of Safety could be classified screamo as well)

All the people I know personally who listen to Thrice talk about them like they're the most important thing to ever happen to music. If a band is not amazingly popular, but the people who DO listen to them overstate their talent, creativity, importance, etc., then I don't think it's unfair to call them "overrated".

Of course, all this is subjective, so don't take it as a shot at Thrice or their fans.
