I love raising those, and also any plant. they are the perfect start to take care of something in your life and they're perfect if they are the first thing that is 100% dependent on you. it feels just great to see them grow an inch. :)
@LivingitupwithLUZ Transplant them. Bury them up to their leaves in the new pot. Increase the light as much as possible and feed them a nitrogen rich fertilizer. That combo will build strong roots, learge dark leaves and thicker stems. :)
A tip for taking cuttings from tomatoes: Once you take a few cuttings from your plants, dip the end of the stem in a gelling agent which promotes healthy and fast root growth OR for you organic growers, why not try honey instead. It encourages the stems of the plants to absorb the natural glucose from the honey bu producing roots!
Facts about tomatoes: Tomatoes are not a vegetable there actually a fruit.
Tomatoes come from the the "Nightshade" plant family as the same with Peppers, and Tobacco.. which also has the Deadly Nightshade. Tomatoes are actually sliglty Toxic when Green. (not ripe)...
@imperialcrypt Half the "vegetables" we eat are "actually" fruits - everything from capsicums to pumpkins to eggplant to zucchini... "Vegetable" is a culinary term - "table vegetation" - which can be any part of the plant, botanically speaking, including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and, yes, fruits!
@imperialcrypt The united states supreme court ruled them vegetables due to zoning laws and tax specialties. So...scientifically fruit, legally vegetable. Oh tomato, you sly thing you.
What do you call the plants with red leaves to right there.
