  • You should stop forcing you religious views on our country. If our country does not fully conform to your religion you label it as evil.

  • Beautiful! Thank God for your work, CV !

  • Beautiful and inspiring! No matter how hard the secular media tries to trash the Holy Roman Catholic Church, the Truth is proclaimed and hope persists. Nice work Catholic Vote!!!

    AMDG

  • Pre Marriage Karen Santorum was shacked up with an abortion doctor. Another family values hypocrite and 'ho.

  • CA is headed by Deal Hudson, whom you may recall was forced to resign from Dubya's re-election campaign after he was accused of sexually assaulting an 18 year-old female freshman in his office at Fordham, where he was a philosophy professor. He lost that gig too and paid off the girl in an out-of-court settlement. He got the church to annul his first marriage and divorced his second wife. He's now on his third wife and demands that our next president defend the sanctity of marriage.

  • :)

  • No mention of for feeding the poor, helping the homeless, healing the sick.... oh well, let's go pope!!!! save those fetuses, they're the slave of the future.

  • @silviasr20det Obviously you know little to nothing about Catholic faith. The Catholic church has NEVER said gays go to hell. For all we know, they're going to heaven. The Catholic church doesn't favor the homosexual disposition is all. I'm not sure about other Christian denominations. Learn your facts please. Also, this abandonment comes from society itself, not Catholics. Blame everyone regardless of race, gender, and affiliation.

    @Wired4Life2 Amen to that.

  • Great Video!!

  • #3 WOOOOO!!!!! JOPLIN FOREVER!!!!!!!

  • Baltimore Catechism: "It is extremely difficult for Protestants who have commited mortal sins to attain salvation, because they don't exercise a valid sacrament of confession." Be warned Church hating, secular "Christians" who practice the grievous sin of contraception.

  • Great video

  • I'm Catholic as well and think this IS a reason to hope. With God in our tabernacles and in our hearts bring on 2012.

  • @Cyberdog1986 Conservative slant? I am a conservative and devout Catholic and I thought it had a liberal slant. Communion in the hand, lay people recieving the blood of Christ, standing while taking communion, hand holding during the Our Father, beatification of a liberal pontiff, etc.

  • @victrolajake You can be "religiously or theologically liberal" and be politically conservative. My criticism was aimed at the political conservative slant of this video. As an American Catholic I found hope in California's passing of the CA Dream Act, the end of the unjustified war in Iraq, and the debilitating blow that was dealt to Al Qaeda this year. Unfortunately none of these made this top ten list and you have to ask yourself "why?"

  • Very hopeful indeed! I especially loved the pro life points.

  • This video filled me with hope, and looking at the comments still filled me with hope. There were a few attacks on this video, but many stepped up to defend the Church. That and I always try to keep the 8th beatitude in mind. So Yeah for persecution!

  • Hope no more Catholic priest child molestation scandals get revealed in 2012. Chances of that happening: nil.

  • "their video neglects taking care of the poor, oppressed, and their fellow man . . ."

Reason #3 celebrates citizens helping each other in times of need. Reasons #6 and #9 celebrate the passing of laws that defend the unborn, the most defenceless of all our fellow man.

  • @therese294776 Funny how there is such a fight to protect the rights of the unborn but if that child grows up to be gay or lesbian they are abandoned and told they are going to hell. Good job Catholics.

  • @silviasr20det *Citation needed.

  • @AtticusWolfstein All of the American Republican candidates that oppose gay marriage.

  • @silviasr20det Non-sequitur detected. Aborting rational discourse.

  • @AtticusWolfstein Rational discourse has never been your sides forte.

  • Playing the victim? This video is a positive look at hopeful developments. I really don't see how anyone is playing the victim here.

  • @GorioOgunquit Let's pay off the many more molestation numbers occurring in Protestant Churches, public schools, and in families FIRST before impulsively pointing fingers at the Catholic Church

  • @JoeMyGod Finally I'd like to point out that Roman Catholic Church will always be the spotless bride of Christ, regardless of the sins of some of it's members, it will always be made holy as the Body of Christ. Understand that even since the beginning of the (Catholic) Church, there were sinful people in it! Judas was one of the Twelve Apostles, Peter, the first pope with the keys to the kingdom of heaven was called "Satan" by Jesus himself only a little while after receiving those keys!

  • @JoeMyGod And as an icing on the cake: statistically Protestant Churches have a higher rate of child molestation than the Catholic Church. The only reason we're picked on for the sins of some in the Church is because we are large. Protestant Churches are so divided that if a large scandal were to occur across many of them in one area no ONE authority could claim responsibility. But we, we have a pope, a scapegoat that many can point at easily.

  • @TheRougeHawksClan Good info. Not to mention that the Church's scandals are constantly blown up and exaggerated by the media as if these controversies were ONLY Catholic. I don't mean at all that, based on statistics, we should not feel ashamed for the sins of the members of the Catholic Church (note that I said "people" and not "church"). It's just that the media and others just point their fingers at the Catholic Church and assume that they are the worst. God bless and merry Christmas!!

  • @JoeMyGod Funny you don't mention the even greater numbers of children molested by the teachers in the United States alone or the large majority molested by their own family members. Bet you didn't even know that statistically the Catholic Church is the SAFEST place for your children to be in, seeing as we are the only religious organization to admit it's problems and work FURIOUSLY to eradicate them. Just ask a religious ed teacher in the Church how many background screenings they have to do!

  • Hey everyone. Chill out. This video was supposed to be about good things. The title says top 10 things, not top 100 things. So please excuse the Catholic Church if they didnt talk about the poor or homeless. It goes unsaid that the Catholic Church helps the homeless and poor. The Church is the biggest charity organization in the word. Just look in the fine print of almost every fund raiser commercial on national TV. You will see St. Vincent DePaul hand a hand in it.

  • I am Catholic and I like this video.

  • Nothing about helping the homeless and poor? Why am I not surprised.

  • ===

But we live in a world of events, people, and stories that manifest this hope.

    ===

Why talk like Jesus Christ is dead?

He has risen and is among the Living!

By politicking Christ into Government one only ties Rome back into Judea...

... Something Jesus knew full well that that was about manipulation and control.

  • Q U E S T I O N:

Did Jesus offer to become one of the Scribes, Pharisees or Sadducees?

Was Jesus about Politics or People?

  • I'm so glad you're focusing on the message of Jesus, feeding the poor, loving your fellow man, spreading joy and kindness to all.

Oh wait that's not in there? What is? Abortion, homosexuals, oppressing your fellow man and molesting young children? Really? And I thought the Catholic church couldn't sink any lower after the inquisitions and crusades.

  • I'm a Catholic and I DO NOT want the Church meddling in MY CIVIL Government. Nobody does, and I just can't understand why they can't get this through their thick heads.

  • P.S. Zinnia Jones videos get more hits in 10 minutes than this video gets all day, and all she uses is a webcam and a white sheet. Maybe instead of spending tens of thousands of dollars on flashy videos, you could - help the poor and needy or something.

  • I guess serving the poor and needy didn't rate this year.

  • @bluprntguy actually the catholic church feeds and cloths more people than any other organization in the world.

  • @Goonies83 Actually, that's not true at all. The Catholic "Church" doesn't help anyone except their own members. The non-profit organization "Catholic Charities" does indeed help other people (as long as you aren't gay), but 75%-90% of their budget comes from local, state, and federal grants, not Catholics.

  • Hope is a fruit of the Spirit. Homophobia is a fruit of Satan. The two can not be reconciled or combined.

  • @weshlovrcm

Who are you calling a fruit?

  • Instead of attacking loving gay families in Illinois, the Church should be working to rid itself of unwanted, sinful homophobia.

  • Homophobia is a sin like lying, stealing and murder. Those caught up in homophobia should not be celebrating it, but instead should be working to leave it. Just because one has sinful homophobic urges does not mean one MUST act on them. Unrepentant homophobes need to ask God to help them restrain their sinful urges. Thousands and thousands have left homophobia. Change is possible if one is sincere!

  • Most Catholics should be sued for complicity in their part in financing a criminal pedophile ring. Take your robes and your vile preists and fuck yourselves you Catholic pigs.

  • And, once again the Catholic Church has forgotten the Words of the Christ from the Sermon on the Mount . . . their video neglects taking care of the poor, oppressed, and their fellow man . . .

  • I am soooooooooo sick of christians!

  • awe the poor catholics.....playing the victims......CRY me a RIVER! so glad I gave up religion....

  • @rextrek Not sure where the victim charges comes from.

  • Jeez, all they care about abortion and gays. What about the poor, sick and elderly? Sounds like the Catholic church has lost its way....

  • What about "hope" for doing good, Christlike things in the world? Feed the poor, clothe the homeless, heal the sick, etc. All their "hope" is based on nothing that actually helps the people Jesus calls them to help.

  • Most of this is harmless drivel. #7 is full of outright lies. Sad that the catholic church is willing to demonize millions around the globe then claim to be the victims.

  • No mention of the shadowy front group NOM and their limitless amounts of money from very few donors that they break the law NOT to disclose?

  • I love the #1 reason for hope! If only mainstrem media would recognize the beatification alongside the Royal Wedding and Osama Bin Laden's death.

  • As a Catholic, I'd give this video a thumbs up except for the fact it includes a number of falsehoods under #7 "Bishops Defend Religious Liberty". The truth is, they aren't defending religious liberty at all. The Bishops are only defending their own right to refuse religious liberty and punish people that believe differently than Catholics. Also, "Catholic Charities" adoption agencies weren't "forced to shut down" in Illinois, they chose to close. These lies need to be corrected.
