I drive a school bus and the most 'dangerous' thing about that is the very small possibility of a washed out road. 14 tons of steel vs a couple inches of water. It's like driving your car through a dog's water bowl.
You don't know what the water that has been flowing has done to undermine the road. It could have been washed out and you can't tell. I do water crossings often in my Jeep but I won't do flash floods - and certainly not with other peoples kids in the vehicle with me.
I live in South Louisiana and my Bus Driver goes through water worse than that every other day....BUT....Down here we're used to flooded roads so its no big deal:)
*whiny voice : "I don't like the debris in there." :( WA WA WA WA i'm a pussy

I would have had a fit if that were my kid's bus driver. I would demand that he/she be fired.
searsbrothers 2 years ago
that doesn't seem nessecary. I mean it wasn't that bad. The water didn't even reach the busses' bumper. Thats just my opinion.

I figured the guys in the orange vests had checked it out to see if it was okay. They looked like DOT workers or something like that.
