@hoopersghost If you have it or if you have the chance, what sort of episodes do you have with teh animated closing credits that air every Friday during the 90's era?
@broadwaymike92 that's right because before then it didn't even need that segment it was fine as it was even if it did go 30 years that way for a while
@broadwaymike92: Sorry, this is the most recent episode in my collection--and I just paid a good chunk of change to get the ones I have now. I won't be able to afford trading for new shows for a while yet! :(
[The Count's Storybook Theatre: "The Magnificent Seven] The Count -Jerry Nelson The Magnificent 7 Villagers Names are Annette-Lavender AM, Tom-Orange AM, Phil-Green AM, Valerie-Green AM, Richard-Blue AM Karen-Blue AM.
Interesting. I never really counted this era as "classic" though, maybe because I had already stopped watching the show by then (my view of the "classic" era was 1969 to 1993, the year I stopped watching.)
@wileyk209zback: Almost any episode with the old format (long storyline interrupted by inserts, and no "Elmo's World") counts as a classic in my book. I say "almost any" because Sesame Workshop tried two episodes like that in a recent season (the 37th or 38th, I think) and failed miserably with the test audience.
@hoopersghost It was the 37th. They actually had practically NO Elmo appearances/mentions in those two episodes. If they both featured Elmo prominently in the street storyline, then maybe they would have fared better. I saw a LOT of Season 39 episodes where Elmo only appears in "Elmo's World" and nowhere else in the episode.
Yeah. It's kind of the same with me too. I heard 90s episodes once Elmo started getting popular were kind of lame, but now that a look back a lot of these eps are pretty enjoyable. Much better than the block format the show has today.
It's awesome to see an Around The Corner episode, especially Celina's dance studio! I remember seeing a lot of the dance studio when I was growing up. (And I love the Alligator King!)
Is this the 1995 version of the Aligator King at the end?
