Any candidate that starts talking about replacing our system of laws with "God's law" (whatever that may be) should automatically be disqualified. Huckabee should've immediately gone downhill in the polls after that RIDICULOUS theocratic statement. There's a reason the Founders wanted separation of church and state.
"i hate these christians who yap about freedom when they can't even question their own mythological god without being afraid"
Who cares if you hate them. I don't. Kepp your secular BS to yourself. That is the mantra of the atheist. "We are secular". No little girl, we are one nation under god.
@sandroeleven, hey dumbshit, before our secular republic, there were states based on the bible, and people were fucking miserable and not free. america is free because of secularism, not because of the fucking mythological bullshit in the bible. christianity in essence is authoritarian. it's incompatible with fucking freedom, because you believe god can't be questioned and you he's a fucking incontestable dictator.
I was wrong (below). The original source for the idea comes from a Yale professor of divinity, Halford Lubbock: "When and if fascism comes to America it will not be labelled "made in Germany"; it will not be marked with a swastika; it will not even be called fascism; it will be called, of course, Americanism" (_NY Times,_ 12 September 1938). Lewis used a similar theme in his 1935 novel It Can't Happen Here. Huey Long repeated the idea, as did many others, but Halford seems to be first utterer.
He also wrote "Arrowsmith", which confronts the dark side of the medical profession, the seeking of social prestige, and greed. This novel is also prophetic when we look at the health care system today, the towering costs of prescription drugs, and the profit motive overriding the needs of the sick.
sure. vote for a former baptist minister who gets caught lying time and time again.

The Socialists are already in power with the likes of Teddy Kennedy who wishes to disavow the 2nd Amendment and has, on several occasions, used the term "Redistribution of Wealth". The Illegal Aliens are flowing over our border at a rate unseen in history aside from the mass immigration that led to the downfall of Rome.
I'm sorry but your history is wild. The Ottoman empire was essentially an Islamic successor to the previous empires. There are so many other problems with that short comment -- "Islamo-Fascism - America has become fascist" So....they may make regular suicide attacks around the world but America is being exponentially corrupted on a daily basis so those bombs are no big deal. That's ... wow.
When a judge throws out a frivilous lawsuit, when a teacher refuses to teach in spanish, when a cop disobeys the orders not to inquire about a criminals immigration status, when a salesman tells a customer the truth instead of a pitch, when a homeowner defends his or his neighbors property with lethal force against criminals. All these trends will get the masses to wake up and start making this country what it could and should be.
that fox news schill is so obviously doing the job murdoch wants him to, controlling the message. And not even doing it gracefully, by 'correcting' ron at the end.
You say you want his opinion? then get his opinion and keep yours to your goddamn self you pitiful excuse for a journalist.
Non-Corruptable = John Edwards? The man who has made millions upon millions as a slip and fall personal injury trial lawyer. Interesting seeing as how the lawyers are holding up their fair share of responsibility for killing this country.
It is the lawyers who are responsible for the Health Care industry failing with outlandish malpractice suits, for businesses having to carry 10x's the insurance as they did 15 years ago when someone spills coffee on themselves or trips and falls in a store and sues, it's the lawyers who are killing our education by requiring multi-lingual instruction and are removing any hint of patriotism or manhood from our students.
I'm with you 100% that the Liberals, Neo-Cons, and religious NUTS (from every religion but our biggest threat is unquestionably Islamo-Fascism) but they are general categories within which the Lawyers are contained. There are many issues killing this country and unless we start standing up and making the US what we want it to be then we will die.
Its not the lawyers who setted the trend- lawyers are just tools. Nixon and Keiser Permentate set the trend for our health care industrial.... Its been these billionares buying legistration the lawyers are just use to back them when someone stands up against the corruption.
Absolutely, this is my exact point and I hope I can make it in a cogent statement. There are powers above the lawyers and all crooks just like there are powers above the good honest citizens as well. There were powers above war criminals when they say "we were just following orders" It's not until these individuals start a trend of doing right vs. profitable that we'll be able to take this country back.
Well, I'll be honest. It's not just christians or atheists or jews or any other religion that believes we are in the middle of a religious war. It's people. We see the spread of Islam through the western world by brute force and other, notably more subtle and clever, means. Islam does plan and has openly stated that it means to enforce Islamic Sharia law over the west and the "infidels" within. Don't let your hate, or contempt, or pity of Christians blind you from that simple fact.
and Islamic law hasn't been inplaced over the middle east since the time of the Asyrians...
Religiously Islam is not dangerous its teachings are peaceful... its this new age dogma thats been brought up through the crusades... that is so dangerous in Christianity and islam.
These politicians on both sides use dogma to elevated themselves into power. Thats why we need a man like Ron Paul who will stop this blood shed over Oil
I am amazed at your ability to speak for all Atheists -- it's very impressive. You should talk to a couple of my buddies who are convinced that Islamo-Fascism is in fact a great threat to free nations, seeing as how they're atheists. Stating that religiously Islam isn't dangerous, while I don't agree, is still not the point. Any theology, dogma, or ethos is dangerous when people take it upon themselves to wear explosive vests to make their point.
Atheist have no political say outside their vote.
I believe Britain is the only country that has Atheist who can make it into pariliment. Islamo-fascism... America has become fascist... don't confuse a dictatorship for fascism... We are in a form of fascism through coperatism... instead of unions.
If you research the history of middle east... the peoples of those land have been genocided for 600 years... and not to mention the Ottatomens try to wiped out islamic traditions out.
Wrong. Ron Paul sees it like most Christians do. No need to make a political statement out of your faith in Christ. The dude wasn't selling Jesus - he was selling himself - that's why political ads are aired.
If you look at the video again, you'll see that Ron Paul was commenting on Huckabee's "use of the cross", which didn't even happen. The "floating cross" was a bookshelf. Dr. Paul then accused Huckabee of m. That is an incredibly strong and unwarranted statement. I agree with you that Huckabee's video was politically motivated, but I think Ron Paul should have been more careful with his comments, especially when he himself is a Christian.
If you listen to the conversation, the question was "What do you think about using religion for political purposes?" Maybe you need to watch the video again.
I listened to the clip again. You're correct that Dr. Paul was addressing the use of the cross politically, but he was also implying that that was what Huckabee was doing. My vote hasn't settled yet, but I felt that that was an unfair statement by Ron Paul.
I do not adore any of the Republican canidates and I am not sure who I will vote for but after his comments about the cross and facism I WILL NOT vote Ron Paul!
It's funny how they will jump at the chance to defend the neo-cons. When it comes to a person such as Dr. Paul, a man of principle and integrity, they chastise and ignore any chance they get.
What I found more disturbing than the cross is watching Huckabee's overacting. He moves his eyebrows too much or something. It seems so... politician-like... he has no chance against Paul... unless "Paul is Dead" was an omen. However there is no stopping this movement to restore the ancient ideas of democracy, and the fascists (Corporate Idealogues and war mongers) are realizing that (thanks also to Naomi Wolf's 2007 book 'The End of America') it won't happen in this generation.
oops, Ron said the first thing that came to mind; media loves to make that into sounds bites. I personally thought it was hilarious, and it shut them up pretty quick.
That was the PERFECT thing to say! For starters, Huckabee IS a facist. Second, the media may jump on this and give Ron more opportunities to beat them at their own game.
So "leftist natzi" groups and white supremacists support Ron Paul because he warns against fascism? Why would they support a libertarian? You should think that over for a minute because it does not make any sense.
rhino you should think about changing that to sheep. It's still a four legged animal name and btw that dust joke was funny. seriously.
People called our forefathers and Einstein crazy but hind sight is 20/20. We now know how important they were. However I won't be the one who looks back and says "man, I should have voted for that guy." Do your research and come on back.

What a loon! fascist? I guess it was only a matter of time before uncle paul stooped to romney and thompsons level spewing lies he like the rest are eating Huckabees dust
which is not hard for RP beings hes only a few earth rotations younger than dust himself
Is that the best you can come up with? First off Ron Paul is complete accurate, Huckabee is basically trying to say that he is more religious more than any other candidate. If Huckabee is such a good candidate for the presidency, then why is he so desperate to prove how religious he is.
what ever... Huckabee has never tried to act like he is more religious than any one. he has faith in his christianity and is not ashamed of it and has said that many times and he is not afraid to show it. you can twist it any way you like ron paul is dead wrong about him be a fascist and he knows it, just like he knows he is on the bottom of the totem pole
you know if you're really that upset about it and want to hear the full explanation of the remark you can go to dailypaul and check out the explanation.
why would I want to do the you ron paul puppets wont go on Huckabees site and read any of the explanations of the attacks on him if you do you it doesnt do any good because your mind is made up so it doesnt matter and I'm not upset about it I think its funny and it only shows how desperate ron paul is
I've read about Huckabee's ambiguous stances. I just don't think he's the right guy for the times. Maybe if we weren't trillions of dollars in debt he would make more sense, but since we are and the dollar is crashing...I don't think he's the man for the job. Plus, the war is wrong on so many levels.
ambiguous stances ?......there is no more reason to discuss this any further then, your mind is made up so is mine....but I will leave you with this great quote from a great American...
Little men with little minds and little imaginations go through life in little ruts, smugly resisting all changes which would jar their little worlds." Zig Ziglar... later puppet
Ron Paul just said that he would never use the cross in an ad because of the quote. Paul was quick to say that he had not seen the ad so he could not judge it or Huckabee. He did not call Huckabee a fascist.
Whoa!!! Where did that come from Ron?

Everyone agrees that Ron Paul is the candidate of real change.

Ron Paul just said that he would never use the cross in an ad because of the quote. Paul was quick to say that he had not seen the ad so he could not judge it or Huckabee. He did not call Huckabee a fascist.
