Hi, the strings are just E Ball Power Slinky 11's. I'm gonna try some flatwounds soon to see what they sound like - that's what everyone used back in the 50's. 'D'Addario Chromes' in 11's. Cheers
Hi, mine is quite a dark colour heading for orange really! It's really showing the wood grain nicely. No trussrod, circa '56/7 I think. The video is quite deceptive as it has loads of checking, scratches and wear but overall solid. Sadly no pickguard, did try a repro but it didn't look right so left it off. Yes lovely binding, great pups. Be nice to have the other type of tailpiece bvut Harmony changed them around over the years. Thanks for stopping by man, cheers
That finish looks unusually clean. Great orange tone. My 62 is a pale blonde that has chips in the lacquer opposite the pick guard side, and more chips in the lacquer on the back, and some simple hand sweat has darkened those exposed areas. Would love to refinish the whole thing toward your color, but never will no work area...
Killer binding on these...especially when it matches the pick guard.
hey did I ever reply to this, sorry if I didn't. Good little cheap amp with a valve in it. Now have a SWART Atomic Space Tone amp from North Carolina which is the best amp I've ever played through, really. Check out their website. Awesome tones for vintage and new guitars - beautiful stuff
@ademiller1959 i just picked up a crate palomino 16 and i love it...it's not super expensive but it puts out amazing tone...its a 15 watter and it can easily keep up with drums.i paid 200 bucks for it...what did the atomic space tone cost?..thanks man
It's time to get serious....
