I agree with others that this song is much better than that "I love you, California" thing. This song evokes the beauty and majesty of the state. To be honest (and it's a little shameful) I must admit that I never knew "I love you, California" was our state song (or had ever heard of it and now that I have, I really can't stand it). I always thought it was "California, here I come".

But this is even better. Very nice song. Thank you very much.

Lovely song! We really need an anthem or state song worthy of CA. It's just too important and too grand to have a song that nobody knows. And those who do know it don't want to sing it. "CA Here I come" would be OK....but this one seems a bit more serious. CA is almost a nation-state...we need this song!

This is an awesome anthem, and I've lived in California all my life and never knew about this song. It's funny because at 1:37 I'm wondering if it's near where I live. I'm in the Antelope Valley in SoCal. And I've also been to Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe at 2:31. I will never forget the diversity of my home state, even if I move away for college

I am a Bitgood (my father). The person you are talking about is naned Roberta. There is a relative named Fred Bitgood who has done extensive family research and has a network of Bitgoods. I met him when I was in Cal. visiting my sister(Corona). I can give you his email. I think there were 5 brothers who came from England in 1600's (on the ship called Confidence)..we are all related through these 5. I can write more if you want to give me your email. This is a much better and more dignified song than A. F. Frankenstein's corny 1913 relic, "I Love You, California." This tune could actually be arranged for band use for ceremonial occasions without sounding overly dated or modern.

California is one of the best places of the world! I would like to see California. The ocean beach, the snow capped mountains, the giant redwood forests, and the deserts are very nice. Los Angeles is one of my favorite cities with Santa Monica, Hollywood, and Disneyland. And there are many great castles here like the Hearst Castle, and Scotty Castle in the Death Valley. California is so beautiful like the Heaven of the Earth.
