I missed this game for years I had an older version of it that wouldn't run on DirectX 9.0(was made for DX5.0). A friend gave me an old computer(P3 550MHZ), and after fixing it(think it had DX7.0 on it) I installed and played A&A but It got old switching comps just to play a game so I looked for a patch. I found one google Axis & Allies patch site is ewarzone there is also an online patch where you can play other people in the A&A community although I havn't tried it

AI is horrible considering you can win on round 2 with axis economic victory...

@TheSarkov The game is very addicting but you're right the AI leaves a lot to be desired. I've tried a few things to  make it more challenging the best I've found so far is to set your allies IPC cost high (I did 50) for everything this way your allies are basically defensive and your on your own to try and get a foothold before your allies lose theirs. I also made a self imposed rule to not buy anything until all special weapons are acquired W & W/O enemy IPC victory checked.
