I'm a proud graduate of Harding University, the school that put this out "back in the day." Just watched it again and I'm amazed at how well it describes the choice we have to make today - between freedom and the false promises of the Statists. Sadly, we've consumed so much "ISM" in our day that I suppose "the jury's out" as to whether or not we will choose freedom.

The system we have today is not the one our founders gave us they never wanted a democracy because they knew it would fail, read their warnings about it. We were a constitutional republic before the progressive era just another name for socialism. If America is so bad why are people trying to get here? Our founders said our system of self-government would only work for a moral and religious people and they were right.

@ToothFilledVag No, pretty sure they were not even close to being first. Probably close to last to end slavery though. (Not counting some Muslim countries that still allow slavery) FYI: the first slaves in America were white, as a result of extended indentured servitude. Further slavery was supposed to be Constitutionally outlawed by 1808 but the (pre)Democrat controlled slave-owning south refused to ratify. Not sure of your point Tooth, but I hope I covered it. @highway234 Being groped at airports is a result of the 'patriot act'. The Patriot Act is a result of the unfortunate events of 9-11-01 and the previous administrations response to stated event.

@HolyCity2012 i wasn't trying to associate invasive airport security with liberalism, probably just poor punctuation on my part. (although the predecessor to the patriot act was passed during the clinton administration in the wake of OKC. i'd hesitate to call clinton a true liberal, though.)

@HolyCity2012 i guess the point i was trying to make was that for a movie apparently made from a mainstream conservative point of view, this thing is reasonable in ways conservative media today aren't, defending unions, advocating civilized treatment of prisoners, etc. you'd never see concessions like that on Fox News today, yanno? makes me wonder what changed, it's not like the 50s and 60s were a politically tranquil time but it seems so much worse now.
