Steve Schneider couldn't have come up with a better idea to save the environment when it comes to smart industrialization in emerging economies such as China, India, Brazil, etc. Along with modern recycling methods, a technological leapfrog assistance to these emerging economies would save the Earth from environmental catastrophes. We don't need to repeat the same mistakes that the Western world and the former Soviet and Eastern bloc have made in the past.

Stephen Schneider is a liar and a fraudster.
Back in the 70´s he wrote a book where he claimed that we were heading toward a new ice-age and that the evidence was undeniable
Then within the same decade he began talking about global warming and how it is undeniable.
In an interview in 1990 he claimed that he was never in agreement about global cooling but then the interviewer opens up his book from the 70´s and shows him exactly what he had previously written.How many scientists are liars?
