The Soviet Union had nuclear missiles in Cuba (apparently aimed at the US, only 90 miles away). President Kennedy started talking to the Soviet Prime Minister (Kruschev). They came to an agreement. The missiles were removed.

You are right. One of the men he was POW with - a Democrat - is voting against him, but it seems the rest are with him.
As for "alot of vets" being one way or the other, well on Vet websites the ratio of supporters to detractors is about 10 to 1 or more from what I can see.
He was not a traitor. Where on earth did you come up with that idea?
