  • dude is it os 98?

  • if i want to download this on my computer it says that it has a virus

  • I'm running Droid 2.2 Froyo on an Ibex Tablet. There is no USB debugging so it won't complete the root!

  • dose it work on lg ally android

  • would it work for samesung galaxy fit ?

  • @kev0475 it does not have "unknown sources" under development..

  • Well. I did everything you said but when I press root, it starts rooting but it never finishes. Why is that happening?

  • hi, i tried to use z4root. it doesnt install on my Samsung Galaxy S captivate. it would say for security, your phone is set to block installation of application not obtained from android market. how do i turn off the security? please let me know. thanks!

  • @jarcadel0211Droid In one of the settings under applications, there should be a box where you need to check "unknown sources." Something like that.

  • It had a virus on it, so my computer wouldnt allow me to download. Thats always nice.

  • @YouDontGotPickles It is a known notice. Rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin is an exploit used to obtain root. That's what is what is getting flagged. Make sure you are on Froyo (2.2) and not Gingerbread. This method is 10 months old and can't be used on Gingerbread.

  • @coolman12100 Not sure. You have to try to find out.

  • WILL NOT WORK ON SAMSUNG EPIC 4G running 2.2.1 FROYO

  • Does this work on a Samsung Intercept froyo 2.2.2?

  • @kickrock no trust me iv waited hours it wont work for me

  • doesn't work for 1st droid. perma root>blah blah blah>kickback to last screen before opening z4root. No reboot, no root, waste of time.

  • @5hape5ter Yeah.... it's hit or miss. Super One Click time...

  • @kev0475 dude....seriously? i've been looking for a way to root my phone and nothing has worked...until you just said super one click. i love you.

  • @5hape5ter You're welcome. I don't have a D1 myself, but I remember super-one click being pretty extensive in terms of rooting.

  • if you root it with z4root does it void the warranty and if it does, when you uninstall it will it still void your warranty?

  • @JEK675 It's a gray area. Yes and no. If you aren't good with technology, assume it does.

  • i cant get this to work on my galaxy fit 2.2.1 it say finding rootshell then i get a blank screen nothing else happens.

  • @harrop2008 Yeah... sorry, I don't know. May have to try another method.

  • Has anyone tried it with the DROIDPro? I've tried several times and I can't get it. Do I need other apps besides z4root?

  • works for droid X THanks ALOT!!!!

  • It's a little easier if you go to 4shared.com on your phone and search "z4root" and it downloads right to your phone and you just tap it to install it.

  • I used a milestone2 but not droid2 and i am not sure whether moto blur exist in droid 2?

I am willing to remove it..are there ways?

once I tried an ADW and it's very lag..

  • my thunderbolt work restart after it loads the stuff in the app...

  • @sk8erdude9263 Are you sure the Thunderbolt is supported? Try unr3voked.

  • @kev0475 whats unr3voked? could u send me a link plz??

  • @sk8erdude9263 Google unrevoked. It is a rooting too for HTC phones.

  • i used the 1.3 version and when i click permanent root it tells me to enable usb debugging when it is already enabled

  • @zZEevoHD Interesting. I dunno.

  • Huawei ascend Eclair 2.1 works, but the 2.2 Froyo upgrade is a no-go. I may have to use easy root and see if I get any results.

  • i tried z4root on my 2.2 froyo huawei ascend phone and wouldn't work when i installed titanium backup...can u plz help...thanks

  • @MsCHINADOLL1990 Not sure. Your phone might not be supported.

  • @MsCHINADOLL1990 mines the same i tried so many times and it wont let me

  • @JSnipa Shouldn't have removed your comment. It was a good question.

What does root do? It gets you administrative privileges. It just a fail-safe so that someone who didn't know what they were doing were less likely the mess up your phone. As for extra options/features, he doesn't really do that. It just gives you the ability to make tweaks or what not.

  • @MegaJackJack111 Not sure. You could look up Z4Root online. They have a compatibility list.

  • @MegaJackJack111 It gives you root. You can ROM, mess with system files, among other things.

  • @kev0475 Whenever i open z4root with ASTRO, it says this application comes from an unknown source, and for your security only applications from trusted sources can be installed.

  • Awesome. Great video, man. You talk kind of a lot, but this is positive because it helps beginners understand what's happening. Great job, man. Thank you very much, this is the app I used to root my Droid X

  • didn't work on my dell streak 5

  • It was easy to do, but my only problem is it wont continue with the restart. I also have a Droid 2, and I am stuck on the blue loading screen. All it says is (Running Exploit in order to obtain root access). Now What? I even tried turning on air plain mode like other forums stated, and restarted, and nothing.

  • Blah! Nevermind, noobie here! HA! An app I was using to turn on air plain mode wasnt working. It worked now!

  • Sorry man, one question though. I thought by rooting your phone, you could uninstall ALL apps including the ones that came on the phone. Could you help me with figuring out whether I can uninstall the apps that the phone will not allow you to do so?

  • @lastweekslightning You might have to try running it again.

  • how bout the samsung prevail?

  • how bout samsung intercept vm 2.2.2

  • im a little scared and i want to know if any one has done it for lg optimus m

  • it is up for download on Applanet for free

  • Works on htc evo

  • It works you can also download it with you mobile browser

  • umm why can't somebody just download the z4root from the android market on the phone ? instead of transferring from computers?

  • @messiah361 Because Z4Root isn't on market. You could try downloading it from the internet and then straight to your phone.

  • @messiah361 oh okay i was just asking but thanks for the help and the video

  • DOES IT WORK FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE PLZ REPLY!!!!

  • @IRISHGangsters I dunno. Try it?

  • i cannot root my lg p500... i downloaded and isntall and my mobile makes a error to force close ... PLZ Help

  • @virusshah1997 It might not work for all phones. I didn't write the app. So... I couldn't tell you. You probably need to look into another method to root.

  • @virusshah1997 same phone i also need help

  • @GerrardVilla786 HeY i got an method.... use gingerbreak... i rooted and installed custom roms in it....easy!!! check in xda developers forum

  • what happens if we root r phone

  • @virusshah1997 You get root.

  • @virusshah1997 the root (superuser) is a level of access where you have access to everything, hens, the ROOT of the operating system. when you root your phone you have permissions to do many things with your phone. You can install apps like shoot me or titanium backup. Once you have root access you can do EVERYTHING with your phone, and you can make it run really smoother without lagging. But you can also PERMANENTLY screw up your phone, SO BE CAREFUL.

  • I guess it doesnt work on htc thunderbolt... just made phone really slow until reboot

  • @xBrian0596x This doesn't usually work with HTC phones. Look into Unrevoked.

  • does it work on the captivate

  • @indiankid445 Not sure. Give it a try.

  • Will it work for Samsung Galaxy Ace?

  • @SaumilSanghavi25 Dunno.

  • does it work in LG-p500 optimus one

  • @virusshah1997 Yes it does .

  • didnt work for me i ran the z4 it said acquiring root and just went back to the home screen

  • @allnaturalbaby It doesn't work on all phones, especially those that are NAND locked... whatever that means...

  • Can anyone confirm this for the LG Ally?

  • @Niteztube Doesn't work.

  • do you know bout the program {4shared}

free app for downloading paid apps for free

  • @Olayemi3 I haven't used it, so I don't know. Sorry. As someone who has developed tools, I encourage you to support developers. They spend countless hours outside of their day jobs and often neglect significant others in order to develop software for Android phones.

  • @Olayemi3 Applanet, easily the best. Google search on your phone and first site.

  • Hi, I'm using galaxy s and i have to download z4root to use RyanZA lagfix. The problem is that i read people's comments that some people got problem when they tried to download/install/use either or both of them. And I'm not an expert in techno or in using android that i won't be able to fix my phone when there's a problem. Do you think it's still recommended to try to root my phone or it's better not to root it?

  • Doesn't work on Samsung Intercept.

  • Can you explain to me why I run z4 Root an then it unexpectedly force closes without my permission?

  • @zViiTAMiNC Sorry. It come be for a bunch of reasons. I would restart your phone and/or reinstall Z4Root.

  • @zViiTAMiNC you are a retard "force close" is very common on android phones, it doesnt need your "permission"

  • U could have just got the app from 4share.com

  • Will this root android 2.1?

  • @saaddaahmed Maybe. Not sure.

  • doesnt work on droid incredible

  • @TheKiddGio Have you tried unrevoked?

  • @kev0475 yeaa i rooted the day before yesterday with unrevoked i didnt know which driver to get at first

  • Yep it doesn't work on OG Droid

  • @tyl3r6024 Try the Super One Click program.

  • Will i still get updates after Its rooted?

  • @ladeninlogen You can. Usually, updates will unroot you though.

  • will this work even if I installed the latest official patch update from Android 2.2.1?

  • @vardanologist Should, though I don't know for sure. Every phone is different.

  • Is it possibile to unroot the device? And if so, will it erase contacs and other data from your phone?

  • @qwertuyop Yes, but not through this method. If you update your phone, you will lose root. As for the question about contacts and other data, they are all safe from rooting and unrooting.

  • good job bro, nice vid

  • Ok I will...so each phone has different roms u can download? Cuz I really want the htc sense

  • @YUNNTHROWED Each phone has different rom's available.

  • Where do you download custom roms?? Sry for all the ?'s

  • @YUNNTHROWED Go check out forums/bulletin boards for your phone.

  • Thanks man. That really changes everything for me. @YUNNTHROWED; just hook your phone up to your computer, mount, then copy and paste your SD card in a new folder on your desktop.

  • Thanks...and do you know how to back up your phone in case you ever need to restore?

  • @YUNNTHROWED You'd probably need root to make a restore image.

  • Will it work for the 2.2.1 update for the LG Ally?

  • @cabinboy0902 Possibly.

  • 1st step fails... you get an error when you try to copy it to your phone.

  • Will my phone brick if something goes wrong?

  • @YUNNTHROWED I doubt it. But you never know.

  • @kev0475 If you have a phone w/ motoblur will it give you stock android w/ out the moto widgets?

  • @Nataboy98 Nope. Root is the only to get "admin" privileges.

  • Ran the Z4root no problem,. Then ran OCLF lagfix.... phone now stuck on "S" logo and just vibrates...

Done a hard reset but its still no good.

  • does this work for the wildfire (2.2) and also will it wipe your system back to factory settings or will it stay the same

  • I used version 1.3 of this app to root my Vodafone 845 (Eclair 2.1) ... works a treat

  • how can you tell if your droid x is rooted?? i did it and im not sure how to tell if its rooted there was a new thing saying superuser ??

  • @rosander08 Try running a rooted app like Wireless Tether or AdFree.

  • @Leetyell I am attempting this on a Droid X. Is there a way to unroot? Please let me know.

  • @ebbressi Yes. There should be a way to unroot if you need to. Don't know why you would want to. Everytime you system update, you will unroot your phone. You can check out DORoot or SuperOneClick if you need to unroot.

  • @Leetyell I am attempting this on a Droid X. Is there a way to unroot? Please let me know.

  • It worked on my dx running 2.3

  • @Leetyell Android version 2.3 or system version 2.3.340?

  • will z4root work with witstech a81g?

  • @kakulukia2009 Not sure.

  • how long is it supposed to take?

  • @Leetyell Shouldn't take very long. 5 minutes max?

  • anyone try this method runing 2.3?

  • @Leetyell I am not sure, but I doubt it will work.

  • What is temporary root!??

  • @Gurksallad10 When you restart the phone you lose root access, hence the name, temporary root.

  • @secretly888 Exploit probably failed. I'd reboot your phone and reroot!

  • somehow astro decided to start reading the app, but it fails to install.

  • put the file on SD card but nothing happens when I try to open it on my phone.. anyone know how to fix this?

  • @datsluke1 Did you try to open it with Astro File Manager?

  • @kev0475 yes. i followed the exact steps. i go into astro file manager and click on z4root1.3.0 and no install button pops up.. i click on details and it says it could not open.. i tried downloading other versions and from other places, but nothing works.

  • @datsluke1 Weird. Might be something stopping you to installing apps from unknown sources.

  • dont bother signing up it will not sign you in piece of shit

  • @kev0475 the xda developers site sign in would not work

  • I keep getting an error saying this phone must be in USB debugging mode and the settings page will open when I close prompt error. Phone is a Droid 2

My phone has been in debug mode every time, yet I still get the error.

    Any ideas?

  • @ImTedBell Hmmm... I don't know...

  • I'm really new to this. If I do this I have two questions:

    1. Can I unroot my phone through this.

    2. How do I boot into Clockwork Recovery

  • @MrStephen920 I don't think you can unroot. You can probably use another method to unroot though.

As for clockwork, for Droid 2 and Droid X, you need to install Koush Bootstrapper. I have another video uploaded on how to install apps, and how to use Koush Bootstrapper.

  • @kev0475 I actually rooted my phone the other day using a different program, Super One Click Root, it worked great and it has an unroot button which I did test to work. Thank you for explaining how to install clockwork, I'll be sure to look into your other videos.

  • @MrStephen920 Glad to hear.

  • @MrStephen920 Where can i find the file for super one click root?

  • @LRGskater41 Go to XDA Developer Forums and search for super one click root. The site is secure and well reputable by the way. You do need an account to download the program but all that takes is a email and five minutes. Good Luck Rooting whatever phone you have! Even though the software is easy to use, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!

  • @MrStephen920 thanks
