Being real, to say Twilight is "bad writing" is ridiculous. It's a love story with a lot of different takes on certain elements(Vampires.) I did read them all and the only reason why I didn't "enjoy" them is because I prefer action over romance. And it was focused on romance.

Actually, Stephanie you can make a living at writing. It just depends on what kind of writing you're doing. There's technical writing, corporate writing, travel writing, periodical writing, academic writing, etc. Even then, writing skills expand into other areas: copy editing, freelance writing, proofreading, etc. Creative writing is the only area of writing that doesn't pay much, unless you're famous.

singpraise247, here's the thing. This is... the most BORING love story i've ever read. Yes, I read the Twilight Saga so I CAN judge it, and I hate it. Heck, im 13 years old and I could write a better story than Smeyer. The woman just... god J.K. Rowling wrote a better love story in one line that Smeyer did in 4 incredible dull, cheap, un-realistic to a FNOIENFOE books. I mean, the whole Renesmee thing isn't possible. Edward's blood doesn't run, therefore no erection therefore NO BABY.

Actually, Stephanie you can make a living at writing. It just depends on what kind of writing you're doing. There's technical writing, corporate writing, travel writing, periodical writing, academic writing, etc. Even then, writing skills expand into other areas: copy editing, freelance writing, proofreading, etc. Creative writing is the only area of writing that doesn't pay much, unless you're famous.

There are so many authors out there who have actual talent (and have heard of these things called plot and character) who do amazing things yet all so many people are interested in is Twilight. I can understand comparing her to JK Rowling. HP was the book fad before Twilight came along, both are mother's. It is my opinion that you should write SOMETHING before you attempt a novel. You should always write a trial and error story before you actually write a novel. And the fact that she obviously never read anything with vampires shows clearly through her writing. I understand that you need to be original, but writing a story about sparkling vampires really isn't the way to go because, I'm sorry. Vampires don't sparkle. That's a faerie, darling. Authors really are the best storytellers. She wrote this series for money, end of story. Romance is by far the most popular genre in print, teenage/young adult females make up the most lucrative demographic. The only other thing they seem to have an interest in is vampires so there you go, a peanut butter and chocolate situation. She didn't have a dream about sparkly vampires, she didn't start this as a hobby she wanted to get paid and did. Smart woman.
