@interloperftv you can bend the string without moving the sitar around wildly.. in fact thats what any good guru will tell you. keep the sitar perfectly still for best control.
@GatoradeIsNotJuice I didn't even remember this two years old comment. Re-reading it, i just realised how much of an idiot and asshole i was at that time :D Thanks!
Thanks for posting this recording of Gauravji! One of my favourite musicians. Heard him day before yesterday in a brilliant sold out recital in Germany.
I love his music and interpretation of Indian music and ragas.
Great recording! Heard a fantastic open air concert of the maestro just a few days back in Cumbria. Thousands of people screaming for more and a 12 minute standing ovation. God bless !!!
wonderful performance both appear to be enjoying the music and therefore producing and masterful effort . I play the sitar and in my town there is no one to guide me, Is there somewhere I can get the notations of this piece or is it that I can repeatedly watch it and follow along in slow moition but it can be tedious until i can master the dhun. thank you if someone can enlighten me?
Thanks! Gaurav and Broto's mastery and musicality shines through and they have such beautiful rapport with each other. The tabla accompaniment and Broto Roy's finely executed "tehais" blew me away. Post more please!
I cant stop commenting about this.
This is really beautifully played. Why haven't I heard about this artist?

I don't like when players go around shakingvthe sitar implying as if it will create some different sound. Otherwise one of my favourite raags.

he looks like a Guerilla with a sitar.Does ravi really have such bad students? You have to hear Shubhendra Rao

Dude, what are you on? This is high quality Indian music. Learn the nuances and what it SHOULD sound like, and then listen again.

Alaap was beautiful, well every thing was really, until the tabla player joined in. its a shame cus Gaurav is a brilliant Sitarist.
