I was so impressed with her choice of songs for Idol, I think this season was the only season I ever voted for anybody. She is an amazing vocalist, but she never really releases anything solid. I was expecting her to become this amazing pop star but I think she just gets lost in all the white noise.

The saying "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" is clearly the case here. Carrie has always said Martina was one her favorite (perhaps her favorite!) champions of voice. Certainly Martina McBride should be VERY flattered to have someone like Carrie Underwood as her protege. I wish people would understand that music is an art. Art is not a competition; it's an expression of self. They're both fantastic singers who are only tarnished when their fans pit them against each other.

sounds karaokeish to me...Nowadays, idol contestants have at least some originality to songs that they sing. This was just a great attempt (and she did a good job singing it) to sound just like Martina. A little bit of straining with some of the high parts of the song. Martina does it so simply and smiles at the same time! I voted Bo!
