  • Ok the c63 are use for taxi over in Europe, the F has two seats in the back because they wanted to capture the true bucket sear in the rear of the car also. The ISF' were tuned by Yamaha and up in 3800rpm it start sounding real hyper and not to mention the downshift revving like a bike. The ISF is a unique and special. There is nothing special about the c63 amg.

  • In the UK the C63 is most expensive.

  • :O in my country is-F is the cheapest of the 4 high performance vehicle o.O"

  • Can the stiff springs be swapped for softer without screwing things up?

  • F stands for Fuji. "It can get a little crowed with three people in the backseat." I don't see why you would do that, because there is no middle seat. It is a four seated car after all, although the regular IS x50's have 5 seats.

  • why no manual??? And 8 speeds? Damn those gears must be short as hell.

  • i think the F stands for Fucking awsome lol love it

  • Beautiful, very, I love it

  • Awesome car but for $60,000 I'll jus get the regular IS n put turbo in.

  • i still like the cts v better because it has a true 6 spd manual instead of some 86 speed autoshitbox

  • F stands for the race circuit and the slight curve on the upper side of the letter illustrated the first corner of the fuji circuit and i believe this review is full of mistakes

  • @Icydevil9

I believe the F stands for Finesse.

  • TOYOTA

  • i prefer a lexus

  • @MrSwatJustinX this is a lexus lol

  • this is a beast, that needs to be locked up in a cage, and fed meat from time to time, but that said i would still love to ride it!

  • I think IS F sands for "this car IS Fuckingawesome".

  • I am shock how professional KBB feel by saying I DONT KNOW WHAT "F" STAND FOR. what the heck learn to research and Google it dammit.

  • Shut up! I want to hear it GROWL!!

  • 8 speed auto with a 5.0 V8 is a recipe for success!

  • If only the isf had 8 wheels XD

  • Fucking idiots "We Aren't sure what the F stands for!" You guys just made idiots of yourselves.

  • And Infiniti has the mount Fuji on its emblem...

  • IS F(ast)

  • F stands for Flagship

  • @goofeewalden1 And Fuji Speedway*

  • this is a fail by kelley blue book.

They said Rear seats can feel crowded with 3 passengers. The truth is that IS-F only offers a 2 seats for passengers in the rear (the middle is an armrest I think..but it is not a seat)

Also, F for fast no it sands for Fuji Speed way and the F stands for the first turn on the track or somthing similar.

U guys shud make another review to fix this for future buyers. other than that its really good.

  • 4:40 or something . Look at this yellow stripes on the road. The painter was probably drunken.

  • Paddles are soooo lame!

Learn to drive a real standard!

  • @PASSDEJOINT paddles are for the most extreme sports cars. Clutch and stick shift are way to slow

  • i LOVE MY CAR!!

  • f stands for fuji thats where they developed this lexus on the race track in fuji..stupid americans...

  • Best mid size sports sedans built: Lexus IS - F and BMW E92 M3

  • @Pablito1512 and the audi s4, and mercedes cls, and porsche panamera..:)

  • I like how BMW fans hate this car and saying that the M3 is better, yes it is but only by a bit. How long have BMW been making sports cars? This is Lexus's first try, practice makes perfect! And the Mercedes shouldn't be compared to the Audi, Lexus, or BMW.

  • @AdrianC12345 actually the iSF is faster at the nurburgring so the ISF is faster overall

  • @AdrianC12345 more like BMW fans who are driving Kia & Hyundai hahahaha there's always going to be people bitch and complain for something they'll never have

  • 1:16 to 1:19 the F stands For Fuji is a Race track or SpeedWay What Ever you Call It In Japan Look It Up in Google

  • Hahah! i love how all you people that probably drive Dodge Caravans talk so much smack about this car. The m3 is an awesome car, but too common. I haven't seen another IS-F on the road yet.

  • the audi S5 is way better!!!!

  • @marnus2612 The Audi is also way slower, the only competitive car in this class was the RS4.

  • @AdrianC12345 well now we have the RS5!, now that is a better car, plus the luxury of audi

  • @marnus2612 Well that's a nice car, but also way more expensive. But I looked on a website that reviewed it and they said the car seems detached from the road, which surprises me because it's a Audi. But the ISF is only Lexus' first try at a proformance car.

  • @8MunchenBayern8 i agree!! lexus cannot beat bmw in performance

  • looks much nicer then the m3 and is faster too

  • @acuratlnigga to me it doesnt look nicer

    it looks too simple..unnoticable

    the m3 looks too aggressive.

  • m3 is not agressive at all. It has the looks of a old civic. It is soo plain and bmws always look the same

  • @Miike92 m3 looks mroe agressive then the isf .

the reear looks like a civic but thats the m3 coup.

    The front hood the sides

everything outside looks better then the is-f

isf looks like an is350 from the front, the side lateral vents are not good enough in my opinion.

  • @henrox555 Well at least the Lexus corporation has a diverse style in car making exteriors

  • @henrox555 Agreesive in what the M3 Dont Have the look and am sorry It has Alot Of high Expectation But it Dont Meet The standards for The The Paddle Shifting you Gotta Pay 3g More for That Look At the Interior Of the M3 look At it its Not all about Racing you Paying high Money and Engine Dont Buy me out......Today

  • @Miike92 well i dont know i have the lexus ISF And I Enjoy My Ride ... And I Seen A Couple Of M3 For The Run And Miike92 is right the m3 dont have the look but by the way u cant always drive at 100mph so i just park the car outside and watch how i get da girls......

  • should of hold off on the isf and saved up for a LFA

  • Great car!! Very expensive up here in Canada. The fun starts at $67,700 , with the series 2 package add $4550 and you get $72,250 plus tax $81,642 ! but wait that not all! You have to pay the freight and administration fees. Bring $82,000.

  • absolutely amazing car!

  • Comment removed

  • don't u think ull get fired if they read this? i mean people get booted for these kinda stuff

  • ok so why are they not cool? I didn't quite understand? And no you don't work at Lexus and no you don't drive one.

  • has paddle shifters.

  • I believe the F stood for Fuji Mountains or something. Its where the is-f was tested and build or of that nature. Someone correct me. Otherwise I'd say it stands for FUCK! thats fast

  • Fuji Speedway...where Toyota tests its cars.

  • ur right

  • @jdang I dunno if it's true or not. But I like it there for i'm going to go with it

  • @jdang I thought the "F" stood for "Finesse"?

  • okay well when u've worked on both of them daily you tell me what you think, but i know for a fact that the is-f shifts quicker, its proven, and with a 700$ throttle controller the throttle response problem is solved

  • IS F iant better than the m3, but its close, and its cheaper. and factor in that the m3 has been developed over the last 20 years and this car is a year old. its extremely well done for the price

  • Mercedes C63 AMG is betterand powerful than all competetion

  • But no AWD. Try driving your C63 in snow v.s. the IS-F in snow and get back to me. :)

  • @ashton6637 So, it's poor handeling and massive wheight still made it slower than an M3 around the 'ring.

  • Better than the M3

  • F stands for Fuji Speedway, the testbed used to tune the car

  • Why is that funny?

  • I know why is it? lol

  • KBB just showed they were total ignorant snobs. The IS-F is not an automatic. It's like referring to Porsches as automatics. These cars have a Tiptronic, or in IS-F terms, a Direct Sport Shift gearbox. You can shift BOTH from the paddles OR from the stick, a very neat feature. KBB also neglected to mention the C63 was ///AMG, a crime in my book. Dumbasses didn't even mention the HP or Torque numbers. I'll help, 417 HP at 6600 revs and 371 ft-lb at 5200 for this 5.0L V8

  • Just because you can control what gear you're in doesn't mean it's not an automatic. It is still a slush box with a torque converter, not a twin clutch "manumatic" like in the M3, which I still consider an automatic because it doesn't have three pedals.

  • it shifts faster than u can move you clutch foot bud, so dont call it a slush box, it also shifts faster than the SMG from BMW, They wish they had that transmission

  • but a manual would give the driver more a need of skill.

  • 1) I don't doubt it shifts faster than I can shift with my manual, but it's still a slush box torque converter.

    2) The dual clutch BMW tranny is called DCT, the SMG was on the E46 M3. And the IS-F does NOT shift faster than the DCT. Clutch disengagement to clutch engagement time on the DCT is 8 milliseconds.

The IS-F actual shifts are quick, but it still isn't very fast to recognize that it needs to shift once you hit the gas. Trust me, it's not faster than a dual clutch tranny.

  • i'm sorry but i wouldn't mention 371ft-lb of torque at over 5k either. why in the hell would you put the highest torques at that point? and yes, this car is still considered an automatic. have you ever paddle shifted a car? it's nothing like real shifting, even cars welllll above this price range with "similar" gearboxes don't even have it perfect. this car, is far from competition in the m, rs, and amg classes. does anyone know if rs is even around anymore?

  • lexus put the torques that high cause they couldn't figure out how to put it at low rpms lol

  • I don't know about this car but, my father has a M.B CLS63 AMG which has 507 HP @ 6800 & 465 LBFT @ 5200 & it pulls like a SOB out of the hole. It feels like it has torque at all rpm's. I've never driven the IS-F but, I'm sure it pulls hard throughout the rev range.

  • actually i got the chance to ride in one about a week or so ago. my friend ended up buying an m3 but i got to ride along in the test-drive for the is-f and to be completely honest i liked it a lot. now, compared to any normal car yes it does pull hard but compared to the real competition out there this isn't up to par. however this is a great, "cheaper" alternative to what else is out there. it just looks a little silly i think.

  • That's cool. Another thing I read was, because of the 8spd transmission it actually gets decent gas mileage for a V8. At the same time, they said 8 gears is too many (Always shifting)... They loved the manual mode though. I wan't to drive one so I can have my own opinion about it. I actually like all four of these amazing cars... The IS-F, the M3, the C63 & the RS4. I would love to own any of these cars :)

  • you're right, i'd love to own any of them. i own a mk. 2 gti, and although it isn't flashy i love it more than anything else i've ever had.

  • Every comparison the M3 has won in comfort and performance, so IDK where you are getting that from

  • I doubt comfort.

  • well you shouldnt doubt, because the ride is stiff as hell....watch the topgear M3 vs IS-F review.

  • I'm sorry but do you only go by Top Gear? I rode in an IS-F with a friend in a test drive. I haven't been in an M3, but M products have a reputation for a brittle ride, and the Lexus rode exceptionally well, just like a buttoned IS350.

  • IS's rides are not that good for a luxury car to behin with...and those are M3's of previous generations...im not going with just topgear....anyways that shouldnt matter much, anyone in this market knows that they arent going to get the same ride as an S550 or LS460

  • Oh yes they are, and my friend has an IS250, and I KNOW they ride well.

Obviously we're giving up ride quality, but a sedan, even a sports sedan, is suppsoed to wrap the performance up in a usuable package. That means a roomy trunk/interior, decent ride, etc. I think ALL the sedans mentioned have those things.

  • well my sis has an IS250, and it does not ride well, maybe compared to standard toyotas and chevys, but not a Mercedes...anyways BMW still owns this sector.

  • Well the C63 is my personal choice anyway.

BMW owns the competition in handling, but little else. It's not faster than the IS-F, slower than the AMG, and has a cheaper interior of either than them.

And that's not considering the similarly priced CTS-V.

  • idk why people still compare american cars in these...theyre so unrefined and plain shit...and the DCT transmission is just as fast as both of those. The C63 is a little more powerful but weighs more...so straight line acceleration is almost equal

  • If you think the CTS-V is garbage by comparison, you've got another thing comin'!

  • American cars are garbage. doesnt matter how fast the go...they are garbage...thats why they have no market and are going bankrupt

  • That was an idiotic comment.

The new CTSs are very well built.

You just made yourself sound ignorant. You may have been right 10 years ago, but not now in 2009.

  • No, first of all you are the fucking idiot...first of all its not just ten years ago...my dad has an '05 CTS-V and he couldn't be any more upset with it....so unless you have experience with these pieces of shit..shut the fuck up

  • Well I guess I do, because my friend has an 04, and aside from axle hop issues (which E60 M5s with the manual have as well), he loves it.

The new ones are just a vast improvement from the old ones. You either don't know that or just refust to accept that.

  • yeah the old "my friend has one" ok....well ours, all brake rotors warped, transmission failed at 70k miles, odd noises and cheap materials, terrible refinement....if theyre so good...why are they going bankrupt....??? the only reason we have one is cause its the company car.

  • It's funny because you use a same old saying too "My dad has ...".

Call the kettle black and believe whatever you want. It does not matter to me. There are idiots are think imports are all garbage and idiots that think domestics are garbage.

  • actually fine, ill post a video of the piece of shit to shut u up

  • Actually don't bother because I'm not going to post one of my friend's.

Just don't say someone is doing something when you're doing the same.

  • well said. i agree

  • LOL, tight backseats with 3 person in it. Of course, since this is a 4-seater car since the back seats are bucket styled seats for 2

  • I love this car.

  • The F stands for Fuji Speedway, were the IS-F is tested.

  • F stands for Fuji.

  • Great review by Kelly Blue Book. The IS-F looks good in this video. Nowadays, I think manual transmissions arent the best choice. Maybe even on track. I think a manual is like an automatic, only slower in a many drag races. With paddle shift and even auto's, you can change gears much quicker and you can control the vehicle like a stick. Saving 1/4 sec. each shift. The Jaguar XF's drive-selector should be ideal, and adding in paddle shifts. Sticks are the past, but it does appeal to a man.

  • I agree too. Manual trans are ancient and dated. These paddle shifter perform much better then manual trans and have none of the problems you find with manual. They are faster and to shift and have all the negatives of a manual with none of the negatives.

  • So then it can be said now that manual transmissions should be a thing of the past.

  • They will be soon enough. Ten years from now it won't be the automatic transmissions that you pay extra for, it will be the manual ones.

  • Regarding your comment over 18 months ago. Are Stick Shift vehicles faster than automatics? Are they the same in engineering? If their pretty different in having to build, how come they cost nearly the same? How do you test whether a manual is faster or slower than an automatic of the same Brand and Model? Meaning manuals you tend to lag, how can it be a fair comparison?

  • @tnguyen318 An automatic transmission, whether it be with a stock torque converter or the new dual-clutch automated manuals that we have been seeing these last couple of years, will always be more consistent than a manual and thus outperform it. There's no real way to verify it other than to put the same driver in both cars and have them do their best.

  • So between a Dual Clutch Stick Shift Automated Manual Transmission vs a Pure Automatic (Paddle Shifter Push Button) advanced transmission, the Dual Clutch Stick Shift will win in the race?

  • @tnguyen318 If it were the same car, very likely. There'd be a lot less parasitic drivetrain loss.

  • I'm talking about the best of both worlds, not the same model vehicles. Between the best of a stick shift car (any car) and the best of an automatic car (could be any car), the best of a stick shift car will beat the automatic??

  • none of the problems you find with a manual? in case you dont know traditional manual gearboxes are some of the problem free parts of the car. These F1 gearboxes are ultra-complicated so mechanical problems are more likely.

  • This Car is SOOOOO WORTH IT !

Lexus Luxury + Bad Ass Performance ? !

I would buy this over the M3 and C63.

    Lexus

  • bad ass performance? M3 would EAT this car on the track and in every other category, check out fifth gear, they tested them.

  • Eat this?

Spoken like a TRUE BMW dick sucker.

    IS-F > M3

  • Of course you believe them? Poor little guy

  • Sorry, but you honestly can't beat this car in looks, performance, reliability and driveability. The M3 is a difficult car to drive.

  • does this thing have a dual clutch gearbox?

  • no dual clutch gearbox

  • diferent taste my friend...i'll always go with this
