Were you disappointed that Bill Erwin was not included in the "In Memoriam" segment at the 2011 Academy Awards? Do you want to help make sure he's included in this year's Primetime Emmys and SAG Awards Memoriams? If you want to help, please go to the official Bill Erwin web site (URLs are not allowed in comments) for where to write, phone or e-mail. Thank you!
He also does this character again briefly in the episode where they try to develop a "show within a show", and it shows all these ppl that they've encountered in the past, watching the pilot episode.
This one scene inspired me to befriend an elderly guy I met walking through the mall. I was reluctant to hang out with him, but after watching this very scene, I said to myself that at least it won't be this bad. It turned out to be probably the best friendship I have ever had. I still miss my little buddy and I remember Bill Erwin and thank him in my own way.
Bill Erwin was one of the great character actors. He worked on over 200 movies and television programs in his 65 year acting career on classics like I Love Lucy, Sea Hunt, The Rifleman, Leave it to Beaver, The Twilight Zone, Lassie, The Fugitive, Gunsmoke: the list goes on and on.

Wow, nothing in this whole 2-min segment even made me crack a smile and I love comedies. Not that the actors are bad, but the script is awful and that horrible laughing-noise recording in the background just makes it pathetic.
@flyboysgtv Oh, you mean they have one of those live laughing recording setups where a light turns on telling the studio audience when to laugh??? And the "studio audience" follows them into resturaunt scenes and in-case scenes, etc. for their fake laughs to be recorded???
@cptawesome1000 I know, I'm not slamming the actors or even the show, but this 2min clip is simply not funny at all. It is amusing how susceptible the sheeple are though... If they are told beforehand that a video is hysterical or that an actor is hilarious, etc., they will be more likely to laugh than if they are told they are about to watch a serious drama. Same thing with the laughing recording in the background, that is why all such comedy sitcoms use it - it affect the stupid sheeple!
@Robert111 or perhaps many people have a different sense of humour than you... ever think of that? For someone who talks about others not being able to think for themselves, you sure talk the lingo used by MANY others than yourself (ie "sheeple")... time to get over yourself bud.
Maybe you should just remove the stick from your ass. You know, believe it or not something can be conisdered genuinely humerous by others whether you are personally amused by it or not.
Oh, I loved him as a character actor. He was one of the best. I am so sorry that we've lost him, and I know his family will miss him. Thanks, Bill, for doing what you did most excellently!
Lol dis scene is soooo mch bttr on DVD and after dis there's another hilarious scene where the old man yell @ kramer and newman when they're takin his trash records and he bites em and a lot if stuff transpires off of dat
I love this episode so much, when george says 'I would like to dip my bald head in oil and rub it all over your body' I crack up every time I watch it.
He reminds me of my grandpa. Because when ever my grandma would answer the door at their house and it's something for him he always says "What the Hell is it?" it cracks me up. And he also calls me an idiot sometimes that's even funnier.
