  • I have a 2500 gl tank that is a little more than 5ft across on the sides 2ft going up and three feet on the other sides do you think this is large enough for a leopard shark and some fish

  • How much do they cost if you wanted one for a home aquarium?

  • pretty sharks=)

  • For those who want to know how things REALLY work if you pass cells though low radiation over and over, mutations in the cells and genetic structure which can lead to cancer and other dangerious effects. Besides the scientists has already proven U.V. causes cancer. Even if the U.V. killed everything it would have NOTHING to do with water clearity.

  • Try a little carbon it uses less electricity and is also used in water purification We have proven in the 6 years that CARBON works better, no u.v., no skimmers, no expensive equipment, and NO chemecals. After breeding endangered species for the last 4 years (on 4th. gen.) sterilizers prohibit "Breeding" and has also kills natural occuring spawning in our aquafarm and aquariums. Can help when used in outdoor ponds if you don't want your fish to breed. Simple research can be found: wilkapedea

  • @seasave1 that seems to be a lot of good information. Thats is why it is good on anything that passes through that is free floating in the water column. i dont see how the UV will cause cancer in a animal that is not in direct contact passing over/through the light. The light is meant to cause a cancerous mutation in any organism it come in contact with so in that it is doing its job. I have no plans to breed anything in my tank so that is of no concern. I prefer the use of skimmers vs only crbn

  • @niceAswift UV causes cancer for humans & pets. They don't classify fish as pets. When the water passes through it could create superbugs which attach to fish which in some cases could ingest them as well. WE put our hands in our tanks & could absorb these through a cut, or the skin. Our beef is we wouldn't give our dog a bath in U.V. water but it's okay for fish? Too many what if's. Eating swimming fine one day DEAD the next? Things to think about BEFORE we expose them to what we DON'T know.

  • @seasave1 makes perfect sense seasave... will consider that. thank you for the information. nothing is better then knowledge =D

  • U.V. Sterilizers do not work and can cause cancer. Hope you don't keep these sharks. What is going to happen to them now?

  • @seasave1 : where are the facts showing that UV's cause cancer? UV's do work if used correctly, Im not going to go into the heavy detail of explaining "HOW" to do things correctly since there are not enough characters remaining to do so. Just do a little research ;) in any case, my main reason for the UV is for water clarity in which case it works awesome.

  • @niceAswift :Out of 40 yrs. of research and experiments, we HAVE learned U.V sterilizers DO NOT WORK. 7 yeras ago, when breeding cleaner shrimp in a bare bottom 180 using a U.V. filter we found, anthopods and other parisites that did get through. (even when "properly" adjusted) All the "Pet Stores" aroung America has proven our conclusion as well. Ick in all the tanks that use copper and U.V. STERILLIZERS.

  • THE TRUTH IS: the bulb loses it's spectrum and brightness within a couple of months and will grow algae on the bulb itself. If it controls algae and parisites then Why does algae grow on the bulb?

  • I have a coral reef tank and I just wanna know what you feed them?

  • @AddictiveAirsoft They are fed silversides, med sized raw shrimp (restaurant grade), Salmon, split in half fiddler crabs... Thanks for watching!

  • Very thoughtful of you to do this. Thanks :D

  • @CheytacOps Much appreciated =)

  • @niceAswift Look kid, and I call you kid because I can tell your education level isn't too high. I'm not going to argue with you because I don't argue with fools online cause because it's a waste of time. Just remember that when you start to learn more about environmental circumstance and realize where you are wrong then please write me back and tell me that you finally understand. Then maybe we can engage in an intellectual conversation.

PS, I do have a leopard shark, so no jealousy here kid

  • @SDstreetracer haha so you have a leopard shark? can we all please see a vid posted with your name "SDstreetracer" (by the way only "KIDS" street race buddy real men run the track so I call you a "KID" because your not smart enough to know to keep it off the streets and racing on the streets is childish and completely selfish and shows your maturity level.) in any case, vid of your leopard with your screen name (ON PAPER not WMM crap) would be nice to see. otherwise STFU lier =D again kthxbye

  • how much do they cost 1 leopard shark

  • Wow man I want that so much! HOW much do they cost-if you dnt mind me asking-?? thnks

  • Why are you running MH lights over a QT fish tank?

  • @beaughn

    is this a crime?

  • Does nobody read the information anymore lol

  • Leopard shark are one of the most beautiful sharks! You are lucky to have them close to enjoyed them!

Take good care of them! They deserve it!

  • you need a bigger tank. even if you get a pup a pup would need a minimum of 1000 gallons to live comfortable. not to say you can't house it. you may stress it in a 400 gallon tank and will probably die. i would hate to see you lose a $1,000 and a shark. usually a shark like that needs 3-5,000 gallons to live. just make sure the shark has enough room to turn. black tips constantly move in circles in the tank so you need a tank 4-6' in depth. and at least 10' in legth for swimming room

  • awesome advice, thank you for spending the time to educate

  • 400 gallons is NOT big enough for a black tip!

  • nice quaritine tank where i live right now (in college so still living with parents) they think my 20 gallon long is huge

  • ummmm..... from what ive heard those get pretty BIG i mean those attack humans... what do u do when theyre full grown??

  • were can I get leopard

  • they are legal IF you get them from canada...

  • how big of a aquaruim do they need

  • VERY BIG AQUARIUMS! whats the largest you can manage?!

  • hold on im confused.1.how are these sharks illegal.2.i want 1of these sharks because there constantly moving unlike cheaper sharks that just lay there.3.does your leopard have to be 3feet long to be legal or what. Also will this shark fit in a 220 gallon tank or no

  • it wont fit into a 220 for long. maybe a year and then you'd have to either give it away or if you're a bit of a 'fish-farmer' you could eat it.

  • haha... fish farmer... nice =D

  • the sharks in my video are ALL in a 220 gallon tank but they are moved into larger tanks... from here they are moved into a 5,000 tank and from there they are moved into 10,000+ gallon tanks... these sharks are illegal because humans are retarded and over fish the animals so they are protected for that cause. sorry it took so ling to reply

  • How exactly does a shark transfer from a 5,000g tank to a 10,000g tank go. Sounds... difficult

  • as simple as moving the shark in a small bin from one tank to the next... its pretty simple actually

  • dude your sharks are so sick i am so jealous

  • they are legal but only 36"+

  • where did you buy them and how much

  • To the people that want one, good luck finding one. If you do find one, they are illegle to have. They are covered by the Lacey act. They are very cool fish but they grow fast. This tank is amazing, however in a year or two you will be in trouble. I had one in a 125 gallon for about 2 years and I had to get rid of him becase he went from one foot to about 2.5 feet. He started running into the sides of the tank real hard because it was two small. He almost jumped out several times. Good luck!

  • if yours grew that fast there are 2 HUGE factors at play there... over feeding and water temp. if your water is too warm they will grow SUPER FAST. thanks for watching

  • there is a BIG difference between a 125 gallon tank and a 220 gallon... personally i would not even attempt to house such a animal in anything UNDER a 200 gallon... even then you are pushing it!... 300+ is ok for a temp home.

  • would they bite if you stuck your hands in there?

  • does anyone kno where i can get a baby leopard shark? please email me lionsfootballtrack@yahoo

  • I want to get a leopard shark for my tank. Do you know where I can find one, or are you tryin to sell one or trade one for a white tip reef shark or a black tip reef shark?

  • ....

  • awesome man- im a lil envious, i wish i could house fish like that. although i do feel bad for you having to get attatched then giving them away before they are full grown. but anyway- i hate people that try to start crap over the internet like the have nothing better to do with their lives. so yea... im down for the road trip to canada to kick that dudes teeth in. keep me posted lol

  • dude the guy is just jellous that he had to" smuggle" his shark into canada... he is acting like someone bred that pup for him... bullsh!t... i know more about him then he wishes as you can tell from the discussion... thats neither here nor there now. on another note... its best that i send them off... i dont have the space... my apartment is like 1,600 sq ft. and a GF that thinks the 600g is going to be large enough... we all know that you gotta keep the GF happy. she is long term =P

  • dude i know exactly what you mean.

  • haha, you guys talk too much. Swift the tank is looking good, what size is the next upgrage goig to be to? Be sure to keep the vids coming.

  • next tank should be finished by summer... just a ittle over 600+ gallons.... but will have some nice length to it :D

  • wow you are already accomplishing my life goals man... keep it up

  • I don't think uttering threats is the wisest of things to do. And bragging about your hacking skills probable isn't a wise move either. If you really want I will have you reported but I do not think it needs to go that far.

  • ok look here fag ass, im done being civil.

report me... i dont recall saying i was a hacker...hahaha... man... maybe the main issue here is that you have a learning disability. you wanna know how i know these things? its your wife, tell that bitch to stop txting me before i quit giving her dick every time you leave. now get the fuck off my page before i drive to canada and smack the shit outta you.

oops, i just uttered a threat. now you have something to report bitch.

  • niceAswift - So you know I own my own website, business, ect. whats the big deal? I can garuntee you do not know who I got my pup from. If you know so much about me why don't you send me a private message so we can talk more. I am sure it would not take long for me to find out who you are and if your story checks out but it would be a waste of time.

  • lolz... dude... trust me... no need for private msgs... you decided to try and air out someone else's dirty laundry here on YOUTUBE just to get put in you place. here is a short list but not all that i know about "Boomie"...i know your ip address, first and last name, your mailing address, geezzz... funny enough, i even know the last credit card you used. if it was important enough within the hour i would have your email address(s) along with all of your passwords.

  • keep in mind, i VOLUNTEER at the aquarium. so lets not make knowing more about you my full time job.

Be sure to pick your battles wisely and pray they dont turn into wars.

    -sun tzu

  • I know my fair share of personnel in Both Southern and Northern California who work in the industry so don't think you have phazed me in any sense.

  • Seeing as you probable do not know who you are talking to that is fine. I guess whats the point of internet screen names though right? Keep doing what your doing, if your whole little spill of information is the truth than I commend you. However if you see it from my point of view you must understand how many videos of Leopard pups are posted here on Youtube 99.9% of which are illegal sharks in unethical housing enviroments.

  • no need to commend me... i do this because i started out as ONE of those people that was keeping the leopards illegal in the beginning. then i found a legal way to be able to keep and help at the same time. so things just seemed to work out ALMOST in my favor... only issue is that getting attached to the animal and passing it off kinna sucks sometimes.

  • lucky for you, you seem to be 1 in a million to be able to own a leopard LEGALLY (assuming from your video), obviously some strange twist of fate put you in possession of that beautiful animal. so on those terms i congratulate you sir.

  • but just because you are seemingly the only person in North America to have stumble upon a captive bred pup does not give you the right to run around pointing the finger at others that you ASSUME should have no rights to the animal. playing "Holier then tho" isnt cool dude.

FYI... i DO know who i am talking to. AND i know how you got your pup. I know that you are a Mod on a Forum. funny enough... i know a little more then you would like me to know.

  • First I know the only people breeding Leopard Sharks in North America and I can assure you that those pups you have did not come from them. Secondly are you joking? 2,000 gallons for a full grown Leopard that will reach 6' is a joke, they need atleast 10,000 gallons. You should probable state your facts before throwing numbers around. Let me know how your living after the fine hits you.

  • hahahaha... ok "Boomie" ... not like it is any of your business but allow me to fill you in on a few fun facts about what "I DO"... maybe next time you should take the time to ask "WHY" i have them in my possession rather then "Blindly" attempting to inform me that i might be braking the law...remember...ASK PRIOR to popping off at the keyboard chap.

  • not like it is any of your business but i will take a quick sec to slap you before i go on with my day.

I do VOLUNTEER WORK for a largely respected "public" aquarium located here in Southern California. (VOLUNTEER is the key word and which aquarium is none of your business because i do not have permission to discuss this over the net in the first place)... (oh and when you read the word AQUARIUM, i dont mean "Fish Store" bud)

  • the pups that i house are pups that have been donated from people that have caught the pups from out local waters and have kept the pups in "REEF" environments... (meaning, been kept with reef fish and corals from around the world.)

  • and since these Triakis semifasciata can not EVER be released back into the wild because they may have or HAVE been exposed to diseases not found in or among our coastal waters. now "Boomie" dont tell me you have never wondered, with all your "knowledge", what happens to the pups that have been housed in reef tanks have you? so you mean to tell me that you dont know why they cant be released?

  • ? ~sigh... ok, back to class... these diseases the sharks have been exposed to (or posses) might, can, and will be able to do A TON of damage to our local ECO SYSTEM. better to do it to a holding display full of leopard rather then to do it to a local OCEAN full of em right... not to mention what other damage it might do to other surrounding sharks, plants, fish, mammals, inverts, bacteria etc. would you agree?

  • There are 6 different stopping stations prior to ending up in their final home. my house is 1 of the 6. because of the size of my tank i am only allowed to house pups 12" and UNDER. it is my job to make sure that the pups are free from internal and external parasites along with any bacterial infections that may be transfered to the main display (which im pretty sure is OVER 10,000 gallons... lolz... thanks for the tip, i will pass that one on the the aquarium)

  • The aquarium is approved by Fish & Game to do what we do and therefore so am I. soooo... i dont think i will be seeing a fine anytime soon. unless its a parking ticket i guess. feel free to ATTEMPT to discredit anything i have posted and i will continue to take the time to slap you from time to time.

    cheers

    =)

  • I live in Canada as well, and trust me I know the laws seeing as I am an exporter / importer / enthusiast. Unless those are captive bred Leopards which I can garuntee they are not, you managed to illegally smuggle them across the boarder.

  • well you got me there... slap the cuffs on me Boomie... since you KNOW these are not captive bred... you KNOW right?

lolz... have a good evening buddy. hows the weather up there in Canada... its been sunny down here in California ;)

  • Very nice mate very nice!Nice size QT TANK,what size is there final tank going to be???cheers!

  • the sharks all go to tanks that are 2,000 gallons and above.

the tank size is very important because these guys need plenty of room to turn around... i am actually considering stepping up to a 448 gallon QT which will be 10' (feet) long, 2' high, and 3 feet wide... here are measurements so far.

    Width: 120" (304.8cm)

    Height: 24" (60.96cm)

    Depth: 36" (91.44cm)

tank's volume is approximately 103680 cubic inches or 448.83 U.S. gallons, which is approximately 1745.95 liters.

  • Boomie Actually Not if he lives in Canada

  • You do realize the housing / selling of undersized Leopards is highly illegal right? Any Leopard kept under 36" results in a heavy Federal fine / punishment.

  • just so happens that i do live in Canada

and i just saw a moose cross my front lawn =D
