@anhisking overweight or not he still understands the biomechanics of these movements more than any personal trainer with washboard abs will ever comprehend.
I just did this work out as a punishment for all the butter I put on my popcorn last night! I have a lot of room for improvement for this one!!! Love this workout!
@gregtorok FGB is a benchmark workout to assess fitness so it is rarely done with inexperienced athletes, with that said at 75 lb max and 60 seconds at a time, conditioned athletes will rarely get injured
Wow...such haters on here. So what..some people like kickboxing others don't. What's wrong with getting in shape any way you want to. There may be some BS in it...but there is in almost any thing humans do, and everyone thinks they're choice is better than everyone else's. Blah...Blah...Blah...to the haters. Do what you want to do.
Pretty much what this guy is saying is that his program is for people who cant push past the pain when lifting weight. The reason why these people can keep going is because the workouts are more cardio based they they are pumping more oxygen to the muscles..not really getting that much stronger. This is the equivalent of moms doing kickboxing...pigs
@uninc2684 This workout is not meant to make someone stronger. This workout was made for MMA fighters. The goal is not to GAIN muscle, because that would cause fighters to not be able to make weight. This workout is meant to make the muscles you have work more efficiently, and increase your pound-for-pound strength, without gaining muscle weight. So no, this doesnt build much bulk, but It will kick ur ass a lot more than a few bench presses.
This is ridiculous. Blah, blah, blah, cyonotic, blah, blah, blah glycolosis. Gee, never mind the little turd has a pot-belly. He MUST know what he's talking about. He knows all the big words and has a white board. Yes, a 5 minute round of constant work will kick your ass. Thank you.
this is funny because he said it was developed for bj penn 10 years ago, and bj's cardio sucked back then, also the guy explaining hou effective this all is is a fa fuck with a beer belly the size of a small elk.
If its like a fight gone bad why would you train your body this way?? Dont these guys understand that this kind of training is detrimental to athleticism and health? Read about peak performance and periodization, learn something.
BJ Penn doesnt do this crap anymore. I never understood why a guy who cant even rehab his own body feels like he knows about training people and prescribing general exercises to the masses without assesing or teaching people how to assess themselves for injuries. stupid stupid stupid.
The people working out in this video should stop what they're doing and do some research instead. Those quick reps, with jerking motion are doing nothing but damaging yourselves.
@berg89dk The instructors are pros. The people who come up with the workouts are pros. The atheletes have been training for years. You can't get stronger without challenging your body. Period. That goes for every fitness discipline. You will get injured if you do it long enough, but for most of us, its a calculated risk that we're willing to take because we believe that the benefits trump the downsides.
You are partially correct. These people have a higher risk of permanently ripping their muscles off of their bones. It is possible but less frequent then one would think. They look pretty fit, their bodies are used to the workout, making it look "jerky" when they try to reach fatigue faster.
I tried this ,...and took a BIG SHIT on the goddamn floor during the second exercise,...I kept pushing though,...and threw up a meal I ate TWO MONTHS BEFORE,...passing in and out of consciousness I woke up sweating profusely with a HUGE ERECTION-I used it to prop me off the floor and onto the next exercise- I think my spotter became that old lady I used to fuck for rent and then the delusions started to get REALLY BAD
i'm 4 weeks into crossfit. i think we did this on my second week. it was the first wod that put me on my back to recover... it was epic

Are these weights only the plates or total weight with a 45 pound bar. Men 45lb push press is 45lb bar and 30lbs in plates?

Locking the arms out overhead? Isn't it dangerous? This will kill the joints in no time with that intensity, I believe.
