this song is so colorful and paints so many pictures in the mind its so great and I'm not even on drugs just a little alcohol and this song is awesome even sober
There were several great bands headed by violin players during this era: It's A Beautiful Day, Kansas, Jefferson Starship with Papa John Creech, Frank Zappa with Jon-Luc Ponty, The Electric Light Orchestra, The Move, and McKendree Spring.....Great time for American music. the record labels had money to burn, so the A & R people ruled the roost. We'll never see that again...Oh, Don't forget The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lindisfarne, Doug Kershaw...........

I saw them live in Indianapolis in 73 at a festival at old Busch Stadium exactly one week after the Bull Island debacle. They did a rompem stompem bluegrass tune to end their set and I remember it as being the best thing I heard all day.
Yes, I saw them perform at EJ Thomas also -- great concert. The violinist had his doctorate in music. He certainly did make his violin soar -- unforgettable.
1973 Carolina Colliseum Columbia South Carolina. Lead for Leslie West and Mountain. Hits of mescaline and beer. Staring at roof and the lights above me. Listening and enjoying but not really!!! Just listen and try to understand it all. That's what I tried to do. Worked OK for a while!! What a great night!!!!!!!!!
I got to see them do this live at E. J. Thomas performing Arts Center at Akron University in the early 70s. They played alone and it was fantastic! The song Flying Dutchman was just as good as God Bless The Conspiracy. This venue was where the Akron and ocassionally the Cleveland symphony played. It has near-perfect acoustics.
I saw them with Bo Diddly at the Hollywood Sportatorium in South Florida... who ever thought of putting them in the same concert of Bo Diddly should be fired..McKendree Spring stands alone
Saw them do it live ! This pales by comparison, But it's all we got unless someone has a live tape somewhere. Looking for this one for a while~ Did you use one of those direct to computer turntables?or what? I need to post some stuff.
YES! About time this song is featured on YouTube, I've been looking everywhere for this song and I've discovered this on SIRIUS 16 The VAULT (now SIRIUS XM's

I saw them in 1972 at Butler University. Been a fan ever since. Now turning my 10 year old violin player into a fan as well.
