  • #3. Also, note the horse's ears - his left ear is focused directly on the trainer/handler. He's paying very close attention to his cues. His other ear is relaxed, showing that he is having a good time. Horses ears are in a slightly back position quite a lot when they're relaxed. This horse is quite an athlete and in great shape. He jumps those with ease and I'm glad to see that his legs are wrapped and protected. Very professional handler and great miniature horse.

  • #2 When you're jumping a horse in-hand, you can't use your seat to tell the horse when to take off, so hes tapping it on the hind end. It is literally no different than a squeeze with your heels while riding a horse. I own two miniature horses and three horses. I know horses. This is in no way, shape, or form, bad training. I have seen horses actually get hit and beaten with both hands and other objects. THAT is bad. To compare what this trainer is doing to actual abuse is hilarious.

  • #1 The guy isn't whipping his horse at all. Sorry, people. He's tapping it on his hind quarters. If you watch- the exact time he taps the horse is when the horse takes off from the ground to jump. All he is doing is telling the horse when to take off to be able to jump the jump in the best way possible. He's doing the horse a favor by helping him with his footing. When a horse is ridden, they tell the horse with their seat when to jump.

  • to everyone who is saying that what he is doing is cruel its not, AT ALL! he is not harming the horse in any way shape or form and the horse is not showing any signs of discomfort! If u actually have ridden a horse before (i bet u haven't) u would now that sometimes the horses need a little encouragement now and then. like if u agree! and btw thx for the awesome video :)

  • @mikymalloo Completelyyyy agree. See my two comments above yours. People are so clueless to be commenting on a video like this when they have no idea what they're even talking about. Drives me NUTS. This horse is quite a little athlete, and seems to love what he's doing!

  • @FenderTaylor122 Actually, three comments. =]

  • obveously the only thing that pony cared about was gras jus sayin

  • <3

  • Anyone with eyes in their head would see he 'signals' his whip SIDE the horse, the crack alerting the horse it is time to speed up to jump the jump. Seen it in RL, you see what you want to see. Not everyone else is a horse-abuser, not every whip is by definition a 'bad attribute'.

  • pony:"*jump, jump, jump* god i hate this *jump, jump* FOOOODDDD!!!! *nom nom nom*"

  • jumpity, jump, jump, jumpity, jump, jump, NOM, NOM, NOM!

  • poor pony!!

  • hehehe! jump/fly, jump/fly, jump/fly, FOOOOD!!!!!!!!

  • xD und gleich weiter fressen

  • so cute!!!

  • Love the way he finishes jumping and promptly starts munching!!

  • A) That's not in America

    B) Where's the shocker?

  • @Kawaiichic01 right its not in america..ist an '>American< Miniature Horse'.The name of the american miniature horse is "Shocker" ;)

  • @Kawaiichic01 A) The breed is the American Miniature Horse, this is an example of the breed clearly in Japan from the Japanese spoken.

    B) The Shocker has a cute little pink saddle pad on. The title is meant to be interpreted as the American Miniature Horse is called Shocker.

  • @Kawaiichic01 I believe the horse's name is "Shocker" =]

  • @Kawaiichic01 its an 'American miniture horse' and its name is shocker

  • lucky jappaness

  • OMFG is the handler an idiot?! The pony is running STRAIGHT at the freakin jumps and he hits the horse like what does he think the ponys gonna do? Go through it?!

  • @xFlyByNight14x Really? That's not hitting the horse, he's basically just tapping it. Do some research, it's not hurting him. Riders use crops in show jumping and other horse comps, all the time, even if they are running straight at the jump or whatever the goal is. Horses rely on the signals you give them to know what to do.

  • @Kawaiichic01 If the horse doesn't get the idea when he's being lead straight to the jump, I'd be worried.

  • @xFlyByNight14x as apposed to going at them sideways??? That's silly. It's not being hit. Just an encouragement to go faster to get better momentum. :)

  • @PatrickTheMiniHorse Ok, I personally do not believe in hitting an animal in any way, shape or form. There are other signals than hitting him. Even if it IS a tap, we don't know what that causes for a horse. If we test it on ourselves, we are going to slow down unconsciously because our brain's saying not to hit yourself. It's self preservation. Though, this is my opinion, and feel free to disagree

  • uuuuuh wie niedlich XDDDDD

  • Thats no mini horse. the proportions are wrong. thats like a fallabella of shetland PONY.

  • is it american??? wow sound asian to me

  • @michaeljackoisdabest

    that's japanese

  • Lol that pony thought that was a piece of cake.

  • tej wzrost jak mój pies :D

  • Sneaky sneaky xD

  • not helping the whole..."I am not a pony!" but a miniature horse image when he dives for the grass like that. just like a stubborn pony would. haha!

  • you never said it was freakin aisain!!!

  • bei jedem sprung kommt die gerte....

  • It's sooo cute! ANd look how short the crop is and how much space between the man and the horse is … ;)

  • Waum haust du den immer, wenn er springen soll?!

  • In japan !!!!!!!?????

    Good

  • He was hitting the floor, not the pony - chill people!

  • He didn't hurt the horse. And there are times when crops or whips are needed. If he was truly hurting the little guy, the horse wouldn't have been so well behaved. They're not as afraid of whips and crops as mot people think. Besides mini's are known for kicking when they get angry.

  • I love how he starts grazing straight after the last jump :)

  • Aww bless

    '' that was so much hard work ive got to have some grass :D'' heehee

  • @Horse09Lover omg haha I was actually thinking THIS SAME THING when i watched the video! HAHAHA!!!!LOL

  • soooo cute! Oviously the pony was fine with the whip

  • @MintoXxxxx yeah im 12 and I actually OWN a horse haha

  • So cute! Go little pony!! Jump!!!

  • I love it !! There is fantastic !!!! I

  • haha its cute how she immediatly started eating grass

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww

  • cute lol he jumps then see's the grass and trys to grab a hole bunch so cute

  • The pop of the lunge whip is the ponies cue to jump. He is not being hit with it.

  • soooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE I LOVE HIM AT THE END HE SAYS'' GRASS!''

  • i LOVE how right after his last jump,he stopped to start eating some grass lol

  • ha ha, i thought it was a dog for a momet. it is SO cute! =D

  • CUTE!!!!!! small jump jump jump AH, BIG JUMP OH I DID IT GRASSSS!!! wait? do we have to do it again?????

  • If this is Chinese people then ur Hypacrits.

    && If its Japanse I LOVE IT!!! XX

    THE PONY IS CUTE EITHER WAY XX

  • @TeamJazzy77 it japanese she said gambade (or howver you spell it) which means keep going or do your best and sugoi desu wich mean wow!

  • haha thepony has a beard

  • The guy wasn't hitting the horse

  • Oh wow people are freaking out of it. Even if he was "hitting" the horse with the whip do you see the movement in his hand, it's a twitch of the wrist. What kind of impact could that actually make on the horse? Not much, he's not flinching in fear of being beaten when the mad pats him. This pony is far from abused. Idiots...

  • hehe soooooooo cute she/he just keeps jumping and then GRASS!! nothing is bad or crule on this video he is like u know when u jump u have to kick the horse before going over it its like that !!

  • das arme pony....also ganz ehrlich mal....-.-

  • The poor pony we beaten with a whip on the barriers just cruel

  • @FR3AK4Y wow whats cruel is that u cant see the horses body language. do u think if he were gettin hit he wouldnt b pinning his ears or freaking out and if u think he wouldnt u obviously dont know much about horses. i have a horse and when i lung her and the whip accidently touches her she tenses up... which sometimes leads to the whip getting stuck in her butt and she freaks out its rlly quite funny but thats beside the point. XDXD

  • @MyGirlCajun if u knew anything at all about horses you would know that he wasnt hitting the horse

    as you only use the whip in a certain place on the horse..no..this 'poor' horse is not feeling any pain at all

    for they are of course ten time stronger than us humans so we do control them but we do not hurt them..

  • @HorzMad yes that's kinda wat i just said. i know it wasn't getting hit the whip is just a driving aid, they see it and the instinct is to get away so they move faster or jump, in this case. we hurt them constantly (we being humans) because we don't care, but this particular horse is perfectly fine.

    unless of course this was meant to go to someone else and my name was an accidently click. :) but still this is all true anyways

  • @HorzMad yeah. he was waving it so it made a noise encouraging it to go forward. and it is not painful, the crop, it is simply reinforcing an aid

  • The handler in this video looks more like he's popping the whip behind the pony, not hitting him with it. This just encourages the pony to have more forward motion, which he would need in order to clear the fences. He didn't exhibit any unhappy body language that I saw.

  • Compare the kick of horse to the pop of a whip. A horses kick is way more powerful and am sure it hurts a lot more. Hitting or beating a horse with unneccessary force, or for prolonged amount of time, or without reason IS bad. But sometimes you need to correct them. And whips can be used as encouragement just by barely tapping the horse on the shoulder or quarters, just because its a whip doesn't mean you actually have to hit a horse with it.

  • People who say there is no time or place for a whip have little understanding. Whips should not be used for force training, but there is a time for them. Just because its a whip doesn't mean it has to be used improperly. Sometimes a tap is neccessary for some encouragement, and sometimes a quick smack is necessary for say a horse who disrespected you by biting or kicking. In nature higher ranking horses will correct other horses for doing such things by kicking or biting them back.

  • Jump, jump, jump, jump, nom,nom, nom, nom...

  • Mdr des english

  • cute:)

  • JUMP JUMP JUMP I SAW UR HAND, U WERE SMAKIN THE PONYS BUTT LET HIM GET SOME GRASS

  • hes waving it so it goes over the jump and doesnt stop

  • so cute

  • Whats the point of the little saddle ahaha! :P

  • thats is soooo cutee!

  • lmao! i love how as soon as it stops jumping it puts its head down and starts eating. =]

  • look, if it was hurting him, no matter how hard you hit him, he would not jump, and he is jumping so he is obviously happy to jump !

  • @purplepony24 I disagree with your statement here, but it didn't look like the handler was hitting the pony. But still. If you beat a horse hard enough it will jump. Of course there is a limit here, sooner or later the horse will, depending on their personality, either fight back of become lethargic. But I have seen and experienced it so many times: you CAN hit them over an obstacle. Hit the horse harder and harder and sooner or later it will jump.. Sad, but true. Just thought I'd say it.. xD

  • wow what a shocker.. he jumped over jumps like minis do. big deal.

  • @MeetMeAtTheLake2Nite his name is shocker. lmfao xD

  • @MeetMeAtTheLake2Nite his names shocker

  • so cute!!

  • theres nothing wrong with whips wat do u think people use for natural horse manships

  • Jump Jump Jump Jump GRASS

  • hahahahha I'm with relly too funny! lol such a horse. yes'I'll do my job but OH LOOK GRASS! zooom!

  • theres no time 2 use a crop unless yr a shit trainer which u must be to say crap like that

  • terrible.

  • My favorite part is when he goes for the grass! (:

  • The guy only hit the pony once with the tip of the dressage whip. Thats because pony was about to refuse last jump. The other times he is waving it around to "scare" the horse over the jump. Waving a whip SCARES a horse. Thats why the move AWAY from it. But yes this guy did hit the pony. You cant see very well cause its behind a pole or something

  • The guy only hit the pony once with the tip of the dressage whip. Thats because pony was about to refuse last jump. The other times he is waving it around to "scare" the horse over the jump. Waving a whip SCARES a horse. Thats why the move AWAY from it

  • awwwww......

  • Wow there are people think this is bad? Watch the pony's body language. The only time he gets upset is because he's stopped from eating grass. If you look at the crop there is no way that is anywhere near close enough to touch Shocker, it's a foot away. Not that a light touch like that would be bad, he wasn't exactly hitting the pony.

  • So cute this little horse !! But I think he prefer grass at jump XD lool!!

  • why is he hitting the pony so much

  • What is shocking about this? xD

  • @Prisinka I think "Shocker" ist the name :)

  • this horse likes grass

  • I love how as soon as its done with its first set of jumps it quickly starts eating grass lol

  • i is it wearing a bareback pad

  • what language are they speaking?

  • japanese

  • jump, jump, jump, jump, jump...grass, grass, grass, grass, grass!

  • As much of a bitch as they can be, I love ponies :)

  • Lol i agree. My 15.2 hand horse was attacked by a shetland once. xD

  • lol if he beands his head he might smack it on the pole lol!!! he's so cute though.

    ~~~Dortae~~~~
  • i love how the trainer is a guy, and the pony is a gelding ( from what i saw!) and they are dressed in pink! LMAO!!
  • cool video, cute pony, it doesn't seem to have and bend in its neck though, it has a weird but VERY cute way of jumping, its soo cute
  • Hahaha, I love that.
    jump, jump, jump, jump... GRASS !
    So cute, ! :)
    And no you stupid people, there is nothing wrong with this video. You just don't know anything about horses.
  • whack whack whck Whack WHACK WHACK WHACKKKK
  • I love <3 :) ;)
  • bitchs
  • POOR PONY!! STUPID JAPANESE PEOPLE!
  • ???
  • @horsegal913 How in the heck is this a POOR PONY!? First of all, it is a miniature horse, not a pony. Second of all, he is good at jumping and seems to enjoy it. Note the horse's body language -relaxed, with one ear on the trainer at all times, the other in a relaxed position.
  • @horsegal913 And enough with the racial crap. There is nothing wrong with what this trainer / owner is doing. I've seen African Americans, Japanese, Caucasians, Hispanics, all handle horses properly and improperly. EVERYONE messes up sometimes, and EVERYONE is capable of handling a horse properly if educated. This guy is handling his horse in a very professional manner.
  • Poor pony he's hitting it!
  • @katieluvstoto He is NOT hitting the horse. He's helping tell the horse when to take off so that he can get good footing for takeoff. Note that when he taps the horse is when the horse takes off. And its a miniature horse, not a pony. I own two miniature horses and three horses.
  • @FenderTaylor122
    why are you replying to something i put years ago... how sad are you :')
  • awh its a little mini six bar(: thats adorable.
  • SHUT UP god u all are blind
  • my sister rides
    you are all so ignorant
    1-he NOT hitting him
    2- there IS a time when the horse needs to be hit with a crop
    3- if you don't know anything DON'T say anything!!!!!!!
  • @joshuamaru THANK GOD. THANK GOD FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS SOMETHING...
  • God people quit freaking out. The handlers not hitting the horse hes waving it so it makes noise encouraging the pony to go forward. So calm down. Also if you knew anything at all about riding you would know there IS a time and place for a crop(aka whip) to be used on a horse.
  • theres no time 2 use a crop unless yr a shit trainer which u must be to say crap like that
  • @yummymmmnice
    If I take a riding crop and makes it touch your shoulder, will it leave a bruise? Will it hurt? No it will not, and I don't think that someone that most likely paid a few thousands of dollars to get this horse would abuse it infront of people, would they now? MOST riders use riding crops, why is that? Because if you touch a horse on the hip, it will go forward on instinct, but most of the time you can't REACH there with your hand, so you use a crop. Now...next lame argument?
  • @Pumanic i totally agree i once had a girl get mad at me take a lunging whip and smack me in the face im 12 and it still didnt hurt that bad
  • @JeffysCat Rubbish, the "time and place for a whip" is certainly never to force a horse to jump! I have ridden for years and have never had to resort to bullying tactics, all my horses jump willingly.
  • @Storm288 i think you'll find that their not forcing the horse to jump, as theirs no rider on the pony, they have to use a different type of aid. this is no different from lunging.
  • @Storm288 "Ridden" That is the key word. When you ride you use other ways to push your horse forward... leg pressure, heel, seat, reins, spurs. It is no different than what is happening in this video. They are using the whip to move the horse forward because they are not riding it.
    If you have horses, I bet you own a whip or two. You use them also:)
  • @Storm288 He's not bullying the horse or forcing it to jump, OH MY GOSH. He's asking the horse simply with a small tap of the whip to go forward. If you watch, the horse is taking off at the exact moment the man is tapping him. This helps him get the right footing. you'd do the same with your seat, leg, or heel when riding a horse over a jump.
  • @FenderTaylor122 Note that I was replying to another post. I'm not suggesting this horse was bullied into it.
  • @JeffysCat even if he was hitting it, those things don't even hurt. ( i have been wacked in the face by one)
  • he's not whipping the horses
    he's whipping the ground to make noise
    because if he was whipping the horse then the horse wouldn't be so calm afterwards
  • hes not even hitting the horse with the whip, he hitting the ground. If that horse was really bein whipped he wouldnt b taking a snack break at teh end knowing that the guy is going whip him. He took a break and the handler pulled him up. If that horse was being hit he would eitehr be frekaing out and stunned or would be retaliating.
  • Right!! :)
  • hey if the horse cant do it dont push it...
  • he stared beating him with a whip WTF cute horse evil rider
  • great!!
  • aaaaah cute
  • beauty :D
  • I dont like the whip but I think this is how show jumping should be done.
    without the weight of the rider on their back.
  • it doesnt make that much of a difference. the riders are what just over 100 lb and horses are over 1000 pounds. they are fine.
  • Check out the video of Small the mini and see what happens when the handler doesn't use the whip.
  • Before a jump you squeeze hesitant horses to make them jump over it. He's probably not hitting the mini very hard, it's the version of a squeeze for a horse you're not riding to jump.
  • i would jump to if i was hit with a whip!
