Very nice Chinese SKS. I really like the ones that have had the barrels cut. Yours is the same as a Norinco, it was just imported by another company. Because of the cost of the '54 Russian models or the Bulgarian/Hungarian models the Chinese models are the best ones around. All of those "unissued" Yugo SKS's that are around now suck unless you use non-corrosive ammo which costs more than the crappy cheap stuff. I would much rather have an SKS than an AK.

Pretty country,I restained my SKS a nice dark walnut and finished it with linseed oil....Mine is a Chinese paratrooper. The finish they come with is a mix of varnish and stain,it's terrible....Do it up yourself and fall in love with the rifle all over again:)

I think these Chinese ones have chrome lined barrels too if I'm not mistaken and the Yugos and others don't. I don't think you can get a Russian paratrooper version can you? We used to call them Sporters but I'm not sure if that is just a name for one particular kind.

Isn't the Norinco a Chinese version not a Yugo? And I think you can get a drop in that will make it accept AK mags no? I fucking love those things. Actually quite a bit more accurate than an AK. Really the perfect survival rifle.

I got a hold of a Soviet 1953 SKS for about $450 a few years ago. I think if you're going to get an SKS you should get a full length version.
