  • @78donjon: You not the only one that misses that era. My 13y.o. step daughter is rockin construct Timbs! How many youngins you see do that these days? People look at me crazy when I rock my Clarks and Polo, prolly wanna bite my whole swag tho!! One more thing, how is niggas actin hard wearin xm tees and girl jeans? Where do they put the burners and bangas at?? I think Ima get a Nautica jacket just cus I can afford to buy one these days for old times sake...!

  • The best thing Nas ever did was drop out of school.

  • WOW!!! makes me a little sad to see this cause he sees his only way out is to deal drugs or rap to make money. I like it when he talks about seeking further education cause he realizes he's shorting himself in life. It's incredible how a kid from my hood can become such a great poet and artist. NASTY NAS WAS AND STILL IS ABOVE ALL. THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING TO INSPIRE ME . QUEENS, NEW YORK

  • wow so much respect to this man he still fucking looks like he did back in the 90's!

  • no one alive is on the level of Nas.

lupe? no way he isnt good

  • @NasIsLegend who said lupe was on nas' level? the only rapper alive on nas' level's prob KRS-One.

  • @stutterAF

someone on this shit. krs is dirty, but J cole is better

  • Gotta love that 90's gear....Nautica jacket, skully, baggy jeans and Tims. I hate these lil skinny jean-rockin, smedium shirt-wearin' punks these days. Im from the Nasty Nas era. I got on Clark Wallabees right now, with dark demin BAGGY jeans, a Polo Rugby, and a fresh caesar with 360 waves. Chillin!!!!

  • @78donjon preach my brother!!!

  • this nigga made me want to RAP. FOREAL, AND IM FROM BK...

  • damn that shit touches me

  • he rhyme without even tryin!!!

  • Lupe is a great, already, and he is Nas' offspring(and Lupe will tell you that) so what does that make Nas?!!?

  • Okay nas is young when hes talking this deep

why is lupe even being discussed ?!

    much respect for Nas

    great Mind

  • Queens run you nikkaz, ask russel simmons.

  • Nas is one the best at what he does and Lupe is one of the few at what he does; two different styles Lupe is way more visual with words and metaphorical Nas can serve it to you any which way you like; it's just that Lupe has a style that he has mastered and few rappers can even think of attempting. Both individuals are well read and very poetic

  • what is this clip taken from?

  • @orlando5one6 Rhymes and reason or sum like that

  • nas has to be one of the wisest men of th 21st century

  • @masterbmh i feel where ya comin from but what you may not know is that Lupe use to do the gangsta rap when he was yung, but he realized even thou what he was spitin was true, it wasn't healthy to his town. Instead of rapping about the positives, all they did was spit the negative shit that was going around & it wasn't empowering it was discriminating. Now Nas is a great rapper & illmatic was the best rap album ever but u cant tell me that his current shit lives up 2 his past. Lupe is up Nas idk

  • @Youngjamcity525

lupes just too young to take seriously like nas

the older u get the more u see things differently lupe heavy

    nas is like his idol

  • Real Talk... right now i would but a Lupe album over a Nas Album

  • @Youngjamcity525 lupe is not better than nas period. lupe is lyrical but soft as artist he not as complex as nas...nas has spoke from street shit, gangsta shit, drugs, rainbows and unicorns, cars, money, hoes, everyhing....lupe chooses not speak on real life shit like nas did early in his career durimg illmatic-it was written days. and u will think lupe will speak on it becuz he from chi

  • what movie is this off?

  • immortal technique is a ridiculous lyricist, check him out.

  • @YoBludclart immortal technique is garbage...dance with the devil is an offensive song

  • @850iStyle you can't say its garbage for a shitty reason like that dude. he supported an orpanage in afghanistan... thats probaly really offensive to the corporations. hes on another level to nas but no doubt nas is a good rapper.

  • @YoBludclart hahhahahah are you saying immortal technique is better than nas? You must not like rap

  • @850iStyle Immortal technique is a really good rapper, and is also influenced by Nas.

  • it's a shame, that somebody like nas who's lyricly so brillant dropped outta skool.

  • @xdrkiller naw on the contrary.....that shit like complimented his brilliance like "damn and he dropped outta skoo"

  • Nas is a legend. Even though he hasnt been himself lately.

  • @kanarvin right......i think that mason shit got to em

  • Fuck man my man nas is wearin a fkn mad jacket, anyone got one like that to sell me?

  • @Jankas15 woww your cool

  • @dgardner93 so are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! xox

  • beast

  • 1 LOVE NASTY NAS

    QUEENZ 4 EVA

  • That's my hero right there..Nasty Nas...

  • Comment removed

  • he was so smart.. i think he was 19 here. im 19 now ended up in college but considering his influences and lifestyle compared to mine hes almost naturally wise

  • Just to clarify, in the video he says "I'm 21". He was born in 1973, and this film (Rhyme & Reason) was released in 1997. So this scene was obviously filmed a few years prior to that.

  • Just to clarify, it doesn't matter.

  • Man FUCK all yall idiots! Why argue over great rappers? Just enjoy good hip-hop instead of trying to convince other people of your favourites!

  • @SlicksNicks thank you.

  • When I saw him in belly... I kinda thought he couldn't act. But that's just how dude talks!! That sounded like one of them scenes from belly that he narrated. Lol

  • lolol

  • he so fuckin calm

    my fav rapper ever

    esco lets go,,,

  • nas has the biggest swag

  • NaS!!

  • Nas is the realest.

  • Miss BIG forever

    Miss Pac forever.

    We got Nas.

All three from NY, my city. Nas the realest. exactly.

  • lupe is also 1 of my favorites.. i used to think lupe was better till i took it back and listened to more nas than i used to no1 is as deep lyrically as either of them bu because of experience and illmatic of course nas is the better f the 2 with lupe not far behind... he will be better some day but that time has not come

  • lupe will never be nas stfu up if u dont know shit

  • dude accept the facts nas is raw and the greatest of all time like i said by far #1 in my book but lupe fiasco is bringing the consciousness and depth along with wordplay punchlines and freshness one day he will surpass nasir jones whether it be a decade from now or tomorrow it will happen ... you give me an educated response and maybe i'll assume otherwise

  • I don't get what's go great about Lupe..

Like he's never made anything like Illmatic with those insane vibes, messages, and like the essence of life.

but hey thats just me! but I am a fan of Lupe.. He's coo he has good lyrics.

but he's not on my top10.

  • that's respectable but i'm telling you listen to him more.. and analyze .. then you'll understand his depth

  • Dude have u ever heard of Failure?, that's the most lyrical song I've ever heard and I've heard pretty much everything Nas has put out, Nas is one of the greatest no doubt, but Lupe has some of the deepest shit I've ever heard from a rapper since Nas and I've heard alot of rappers, alot of niggas don't give Lupe his due respect becuz he's new or he doesn't have dat gangster image, I think he's up there with Nas, ppl just have that mentality that if a new guy comes he's not better than the old guy

  • so ur tellin me "just a moment" wasnt deep? Nas makes u think b4 u act!

  • no...Lupe hasnt been in the game long enough and hasnt done enough to be up there with nas...STOP

  • So.....was u sayin the same thing when Nas 1st came out and ppl were comparing him to Rakim?, Lupe's been rappin for 10+ years now, he's been in the rap game long enough to fit ur standards of a rapper being in the game long enough to be compared to a legend, Tupac and Biggie were only rappin for 5 years and yet they're on everybody's top list, stop bein a hypocrite, Lupe's up there with Nas, ppl don't wanna admit it becuz he doesn't have dat gangster image or didn't come out in the 90's.

  • "HYPOCRITE"?

    dude...stoppp

1.biggie and pac arent in my top 5

    2.fuck a list

3.Lupe Does not fit my standards

    4.you dont know my standards

    5.NAS>LUPE

6.wat does being a gangster have to do with being great?

  • @dimez2nasty

Yea man, i totally agree with that. pac and biggie were great, but not in my top five.

In my top five id have people like nas, black thought, methodman, big l,

  • @opydopy Worddd.

  • nas dont have a gangsta image lol, and lupe isnt even close to nas, nas has the greatest album + at least 2 more classics, at least 2 verses in top 10 all time, the best diss ever and lots more, what does lupe have? yeah he got lyrics and some classic albums but his albums dont come close to illmatic or even stillmatic....pac was active for 5 years but he had material for 20 years of work, and his emotion made him great, while big's potential and flow made him great

  • taken from the documentary ''rhyme & reason''

    you should check it!

  • "'m not a Doctor or a Lawyer, but I'm 21 with a start" .. So beautiful and uplifting.

  • nasty nas in your area

  • I dont understand why people shit on the Untitled albulm ok you may not have liked the beats but thats far from the point the man was trying to get a message out there (not talking to anybody in paticular just a certain group of people)

  • nas never lost his skill to write good lyrics. listen to his new stuff. "hero" is like the most played song on my mp3.

illmatic just comes off as real because he was going threw all of that stuff while making the record. halftime was a 1992 record.

rapping was nas's only way out the projects because he dropped out of school and teachers gave up on him. so he went his hardest on illmatic because it was his last chance. like a now or never type of thing.

  • Halftime is fucking ill

  • lupe sick

  • why u sayin that here :S this is a nas video go comment lupe on his videos.. :S

  • nigga i said dat time ago stop stressin someone was camparin artist

  • ignorant bigot you will go nowhere in life. you'll be unsuccessful and depending on your parents to support you in life. you waste of sperm

  • the best documentary ive seen on Nas is for the LP Illmatic, there's Primo on the studio, large Pro, Q tip, Pete Rock.. damn shit was real in this time

  • Whats it called?

  • yea ?

  • Dammnnn dis kidssss sayin how Lupe is new skool.. holyyy do ur research, Lupe is retirin, he been doin hes thing from time n yeh u cant compare Nas n Lupe.

  • Nas is so realistic on how he sees things & how things really are. He knew that if he went back to school, he'd pick up a plethora of knowledge that was denied em. I don't know if he eva went back, but I know that each album has gotten that much more complex. Just think... "Illmatic" was Nas' early childhood to latter teenage years, while "Untitled" is Nas bringin the illest of knowledge & wisdom. Nas will always be "Illmatic".

  • where is this video from

  • A documentary called "Rhyme and Reason"

  • thanks!

  • Lupe is Good and all. But Nas Eats People like him for breakfast. ya feel me ?

  • Stop trying to compare them.

Nas is old skool and Lupe is new skool.

Let Lupe do his thing like Nas did his back in the day...stop hating on the kid.

  • im not hating on lupe. i like lupe.

  • lupe is good..soon to be great..he got something..he's very talented n different!

  • did he say his brother was shot?and did he say he is a big drug dealer?

  • his brother Jungle was shot when his friend ILL WILL was killed...he said he was not a big time drug dealer wit 25 years on his head..he sings rap records so he can make his bread..it was a rhyme

  • I'm naming my first-born son after that man!

  • NASIIIIIIIIR

  • DON'T EVER COMPARE MY NIGGA NAS TO LUPE! lupe is goo, but he just came out yesterday.nas has been around for over a decade. dont compare the 2.

  • sonn it dun matta when they came out

lupe was highly influenced off nas and im not saying lupe is on the level of nas but i believe in some ways there not that far apart in their rhyme concepts

  • true...but to say that lupe is better______?...i disagree

  • Hell No, Nas has a way tighter flow.

    Quite obvious to me.

  • Nas has some of the sickest flows of all time especially on Illmatic but we all know that.

  • stfu u have no clue what your talking about

  • Whay would you say Lupe is better than NAS??? NAS is a top 5 rapper, great flow, great lyrics, humbled, smart, beast on the mic, and a perfect rapper. Lupe is good, but no way is he even close to NAS and how in the hell did Lupe come up in a NAS video?

  • lupe could never come close to nas....NEVER!

  • NEVER EVER EVER!!!!!!!!!! No where near.

  • @sebsdberbbbbjgb Why do people keep saying this? Do people listen to Lupe? It's like Nas' second coming, not to mention that Nas is Lupe's favorite rapper. Do me a favor listen to Lupe again, and tell me why you feel that way, I really want to know.

  • @generaljive

Lupe is only ok nas is a legend. If i asked 100 people there top five rappers nas would prob be on 85 of those top 5 lists while lupe would be lucky to hit 10-15 of those list.

I seen them both in concert also Lupe skipped four songs in a row becuase he didnt like them aka the crowd wasnt feeling him it was a horrible performace..not to mention he had to go on after common but when nas came he killed it and people wanted an encore yet he didnt do one since he ended w/ 1 mic.EPIC

  • @notoriousKANE word...i mean everyone has a right to there favorites i personally am not into those list but please take the time to listen to guru of gang starr, and Big L as well as big pun andre 3000 talib kweli common mos def jay electronia j cole...i quittttttt.. can i get a thumbs up if anyone agrees ?

  • @BrennonAMusic I here what see that, but as far as concerts go that is relative to where it's located (If it was in chicago that may have been a different story), also it depends on whose head lining, and what songs are performed. Asking people about their fav top five is also only limited to people you can reach, which is also biased by location. I'd have to have to use it, but on facebook Lupe has more fans, and on twitter, and that counteracts your assumption that NAS would be in more top 5s

  • @BrennonAMusic That lupe is mentioned in only 10 lists says something about the game.. Not about the music. In my top 10 there are rappers you probably never heard off? Does that make them bad? But I agree with you that Nas is a Legend, but your explanation is not ok.

  • @sebsdberbbbbjgb whos lupe? lol

  • how about top 2

  • Man everytime I watch this.. real man talk though I feel like sheaddin a tear cause I know where my he comin From Nas for life my Fav Emcee

  • queeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenz ALL DAy

  • What documentary is this from??

  • RYHME & REASON

  • can i dl this anywhere? looks pretty good biggest nas fan here!

  • you can download it from torrents if you want ill give you a link just pm me

  • Nas Is A Gangsta Rapper But Drops The True Knowledge To Not Just He's Own Kind But The World! Living Legend , Nasir Jones....

  • tha realest shit nas ever said

  • Nas is that last real nigga alive i agree man best rapper ever

  • Don't forget Lupe

  • I feel like most 'newer' hiphoppers dont have they own opinion.

They just let them be told which names are hot and run with it, Thinking that will make them a hiphop head.

Thats probably why so many people say Lupe's the greatest alive.

They heard somebody else said it and somebody else and somebody else.

Its all copy/paste In My Opinion.

  • Not saying im a big hiphophead but at least i know a bit about rap to know Lupe isnt 1 of the greatest of all time.

I think thats really some bandwagon shit.

At the moment hes top 10 but def not even close to the best 10 rappers of all time.

  • Well, that is true for a lot, but ive listened to a lot of rap, from rakim to wu tang to nas to talib kweli to canibus, and b4 i was like that, i never really had an opinion, but ive lisened to a lot of stuff and lupe has to be somewhere up there in the top 20 at least when he retires with lupEND

  • IMO There were and still are so many ill MCs

I can give you 20 names that i feel like they are better than Lupe.

some who just never had the fame like Lupe

But i think hes def one of the greatest from last couple of years.

people need to stop judging rappers on they commercial succes or fame cause rappers are getting heavily misjudged.

  • Yeah i aint saying that he is the best ever, im just saying that he is definitely 'one' of those ill MCs that are currently in the game.. and lupe doesnt have that much fame, he is very very underlooked, and yeah, if they did the best rapper alive is lil wayne lol which aint true. youre points are very valid indeed, a lot of rappers aer getting heavily misjudged.

  • Yeah, Lupe is a dope-ass MC but not as great as some people say

I like Lupe cause hes just being himself with his music

Lot of rappers are scared to be themselves doing whatever the public wanna hear

I mean you keep hearin rappers claiming they were hustlers and such but Lupe doesnt need all that.

  • yeah, he aint tryin to fit in or anything with the shitty rappers or tryna being a hustler. and he barely uses the 'N' word which is funny for a rapper.. but i gotta say that his first album was classic shit man

i didnt miss a track on that album it was so dope!!

  • lol...true

  • Nas is an inspiration. Props.

  • This is from the documentary Rhyme and Reason. I believe it was made around '94-'95 when the Wu was commin' up and Nas was "nasty"

  • nas is one of my heroes..living legend.
